I have had fillings, crown and two 2 permanent crowns after implants, at his practice. Treatment has been easy and comfortable. I never had any complications. Recently I had an infection that he discovered (after I complained of pain) below a lower molar and unfortunately I needed an extraction. He examined the surgical site a month later and reassured that all healed very well and the spaceI should receive a new implant well. Despite taking care of my teeth in adulthood, I have had many issues. maybe because I grew up in the UK in an area without access to fluoridated water. Despite all this, my teeth look and feel good and my gums are healthy.

Dr. Putt has been spending too much time on the golf course (at least that is the explanation by the technicians to why I have not seen him the last 5 years). The front desk now is incredibly rude and condescending. If you don't have the right insurance, get out, if you have a question, we don't have time for this. The last hygenist I saw was yelling at me the entire time, and telling me all about how much her life sucks. The hygenist I saw for many years who was amazing left the practice unfortunately. And when I first joined they were willing to work with me on a dental plan that works for me. Now it is aggressive treatment and pressure sells that requires X-rays every 6 months and deep cleanings. If you don't like it, I was told by the front desk to GET OUT. Ok you got your wish, good riddance.

Very much like others(Whom have commented) the office staff leaves MUCH to be desired. I paid my bill in full for the amount i expected and had been told. That was my last visit in Sept. In February i received a email saying i owed 470.00 for a CT scan. I paid in full what i was told to pay in Sept. I contacted the office and asked why the first i was hearing about this was 5 months later and the response was i owe the money. I told them i paid in full I paid 5500+ on my final visit. Today i received a call from a collection agency saying i had been delinquent since Sept. and payment was due in full. I pay my bills, excellent credit score and to be sent to a collection agency and effect my credit over there shooty billing is a place i would stay far away from. I also will be in touch with my referring dentist. I hope they enjoy the $470.00 dollars as i am hopeful this will help others not get caught in what seems to be a common sneaky pratice.

I chose to bring my daughter to this practice on the recommendation of our Orthodontist for a…read moresurgical procedure as part of the work with her braces. Her recovery has been good, with no complications to speak of (only two weeks in at time of writing this). So the services provided by Dr. Wardius appear to have met expectations. Unfortunately, the office experience left something to be desired. While a comfortable and soothing ambiance make for nice experience, day of, I was disappointed with poor communication with the office staff around the costs involved. After completing our consult visit and scheduling the surgery I asked for a cost estimate and was presented with expected costs, based on expected insurance coverages. Two weeks later these were updated based on an uncovered service performed at the consult (a CT scan), and I was provided what I understood to be final numbers (assuming that nothing would change during the procedure that would require additional services or coverage-wise from insurance). On the day of the procedure, everything proceeds as expected. No additional services needed or performed and payment requested matches the estimate I had been provided. Two weeks later I am now being charged for a service (the CT scan) that was supposed to have already been accounted for, as I was told that it had been, two weeks prior to the procedure. But they are telling me that I mis-read the email when they said "The balance was added to the patient account." If so, that estimate should reflect that amount. When a customer is quoted a price for promised services to be rendered, and those exact services are what is completed, then that price shouldn't change after the fact. Trying to discuss this with the office manager was the final straw as she was more interested in expediting the call, crossing it off her to-do list and getting off the phone than to honestly hear the concern and frustration that a client had with their experience. This "problem customer" as I am sure to be referenced as behind their closed doors, could have been a learning experience for the team so that they could better understand how to service their customer's needs. Instead it was so much more transactional and disappointing. I will be sure to pass this experience back to the original referring office and to find another practice for my son when he is due up in the coming years.

I never felt that my emotional trauma was taken seriously, and after reviewing my account history,…read moreit is obvious my dental PTSD was indeed ignored and never taken seriously. Things came to a head when I wrote an email to the office manager saying I had an unsettling and chaotic appointment, detailing what transpired. The response I received was shocking and infantilizing. There were many ways she could have responded or even apologized, but instead, my complaint was blamed on my PERSONAL CHALLENGES, yes, she wrote PERSONAL CHALLENGES! She ignored most of what I wrote, like how I was still upset that the last person who took X-rays left me with cuts and sores in my mouth for weeks, how I should not have paid for the X-rays- ZERO acknowledgement of this issue. I waited a few weeks to look at my records because I was still upset from our email exchange but now after reading the notes in my records, I am sick to my stomach. Exact notes including the soooooo and sooo from the person who cleaned my teeth. 6/16/20 -pt soooooo anxious about me cleaning her teeth today, she is sooo afraid of #8 falling out. Not noted, #8 (new tooth) fell out TWO TIMES. Yes, I was a hot mess (still am) with anxiety because of the tooth falling out TWO TIMES. 6/17/21- Patient's anxiety is very irrational due to having had an accident when she was 6 years old. WRONG and inaccurate - I was in the SIXTH grade (not 6 years old), I fell and knocked my teeth out while ice skating. It was during this time that my childhood dentist, Dr. Lucia of Lynn, MA, abused me while under sedation and was eventually arrested for insurance fraud. His shoddy and negligent work led to years of ongoing dental issues, which will continue for the rest of my life. I shared this information. I shared again and again that ANYONE in my mouth causes me anxiety. Even my last note is wrong. 2/29/25- patient NO SHOW. Not noted: 11/12/24 - I left this appointment in tears. I did not make or confirm my next appointment. I was devastated that I had a cracked crown and angry that the dentist did not discuss my gums after having had gum surgery in August. I may not have had a voice when I was in the SIXTH grade, but I have a voice now.

I understand she is working on joining another practice. I would keep a lookout and try to sign on to wherever she lands. I've been a patient of Dr. Kern for over 20 years. She has done routine cleanings, x-rays, light restorative work for chipped teeth and made molds and maintained nighttime mouthguards for me. Dr. Kern takes incredible pride in her work, is motivated to employ the most useful and modern technology in her work, and will explain in detail why she is making the dental recommendations she offers for your situation. By the way, she is also always available by cell or text, which has come in handy more than a few times. I was so disappointed when she had to curtail all but emergency work during COVID and I'm sad that her office will not be reopening. Any practice would be lucky to have both her skills and her loyal patient base. I'm keeping an eye out for her new home and hope to back in her great care soon.

Which means you always see the same people and they get to know your mouth Dr Kern is extremely thorough and discusses multiple options with you. She helps you prioritize dental issues and the office is willing to work out a plan to maximize insurance coverage. The office is up on all the latest dental technologies- for instance sealants on kids teeth to help prevent cavities My only negative is the time. The office can be slow. A cleaning typically takes 1-1/2 hours. Always add a half hour into your schedule over your scheduled appointment time. As long as you realize that you will be here a long time and plan accordingly, you will be fine.
