They were sweet and easy, enjoying the music and ordering drinks here and there throughout the night. Toward the end of our closing band's set, one of the people in the group gifted me with a box of Italian cookies from Marianna's, his family's bakery. I was so surprised and delighted by this unexpected gesture. In a world that's very busy and super crowded, these sweet people went out of their way to thank me in the most thoughtful way I can imagine. If I lived in Connecticut, I'd be a regular customer for sure. And not just because the family behind the bakery is so lovely. I shared Marianna's assorted cookies with staff throughout the bar and they were fantastic! I adore almond cookies and their marzipan-filled almond cookies are IT. Thank you for coming in and being the best, y'all!

Nice thin crispy outside, and all with that trademark shape - perfect for my Santa Maria Tri-Tip BBQ feast at my parent's place for their big summer party. Total 100% success because of Mana Bakery! I asked my friend who speaks Spanish to call with me, and he was able to translate, which is fine, but you should know, I'm not sure if anyone that runs the bakery speaks English. For me that is the perfect indication of traditional food prep, so wonderful! I know a little Spanish, and used a translator on my first call, but then had to call in my buddy. We had a laugh about it, and some fun, and sure enough, when I showed up a week later to drive from Simsbury to Meriden, my order was ready, and it was only $1 per roll. Just fantastic. Gracias, Mana Bakery! Quiero que sepas que realmente hiciste una diferencia para mi fiesta y nos hiciste muy felices a todos. ¡¡Muchas gracias!!

I inquired about flan and was told they had 3 varieties with me settling on a pair of the banana flavored. I also inquired about another piece of pastry that caught my eye and was told it was bread pudding which I added to my order, a total of 3 pastries = $5.60, a certified bargain. The flans were excellent and served as a dessert for 2 on consecutive evenings. We were less impressed by the bread pudding, though tasty, it proved to be a bit too heavy. A return trip is in process of being formulated that will certainly include another flan, probably a pair of potato balls, likely an additional dessert, maybe even a loaf of bread and, if the timing is right, a pernil sandwich. So many options, so many calories, so little time.

It's always nice finding something that feels thoughtful and is appreciated by so many people. Of course, I couldn't leave without picking up a few treats for myself. I brought home the chocolate hazelnut and coconut ice cream flavors, and both were absolutely delicious. The chocolate hazelnut was rich and creamy, while the coconut had a refreshing flavor that was perfect for a warm day. I also purchased two breakfast pastries. One was a raspberry-flavored pastry that I really enjoyed. The other was supposed to be filled with vanilla, but the filling tasted different than I expected. It wasn't my favorite item, but with so many options available, that's bound to happen sometimes. The selection was impressive, everything looked fresh, and there was something for every sweet tooth. I'll definitely be back to try more flavors and discover a few new favorites.
