The vast selections of sweets is outstanding and very delicious. And then there's the food. Your traditional Jewish deli. The food has alway been great for both breakfast and lunch. We've never been for dinner but I'm sure if lunch is great, it should be as well. Stopped by after a hike for lunch which wasn't that busy as it was Thursday. Majority of the people were dining inside as it was still pretty hot. They were only utilizing the front part of the patio the time we walked in. Service was great with our waitress. Didn't get her name but she was a doll. We both just wanted a sandwich which they do have a very good selection. As alway, pickles and sauerkraut was brought to the table. It's a classic. Sandwiches, we had the pastrami with fries (like chips) which is an addition fee as it tends to come with coleslaw or potatoes salad. And the tuna sandwich with coleslaw. Both are pretty decent in size and stuffed with meat. Pastrami was quite tasty and juicy. Only downfall, it's literally just meat and bread. You add the extras yourself, ie mustard or pickles. The tuna sandwich, with lettuce, tomatoes and red onion was quite tasty as well. The food has always been tasty and great. Portion wise are pretty big so there tends to be leftovers for a lot of people. Breakfast is a must as it's alway busy especially during the weekend. It's one of our favorite place out here in the desert.

You know the saying, "don't meet your heroes?" Well, that kind of applies here to Sherman's. Living…read morein San Diego, it's a Jewish deli wasteland. So being from Los Angeles, where, when I was growing up, we had a fantastic Jewish delis, the idea of hitting up a place that is still around that still sells the food that I knew in love was too attractive to pass up. To say that Sherman's was a disappointment would be a massive understatement. The egg salad and chopped liver sandwich was pretty bad. First there was barely any egg salad on the sandwich at all. And the chopped liver was Bland and had a really bad consistency. You'd be better off ordering Nationwide delivery from Russ and Daughters. The matzoh ball soup with chicken and noodles was equally bland tasteless. Not to mention the fact that the matzo ball was curiously hard for should be velvety soft. The service was fine, getting my orders wrong multiple times. First, they brought me the matzoh ball soup with no noodles. Then they brought me a pastrami sandwich, even though I ordered egg salad and chopped liver. Sherman has the veneer of an old school Jewish deli with without any of the quality food. Whatever nostalgia I might've had was decimated once I started eating.

Melissa was very accommodating with the shorter than their recommended lead time of about 3.5 weeks versus 4 weeks in advance and was very responsive throughout the entire process through email with the final confirmation over the phone. On the day of the pick up, they also remembered we were coming in from LA and followed up with us to make sure we were going to get there before they closed at 4PM. They had a wide variety of flavors to choose from that could be cake, but we settled on traditional chocolate, one of the flavors that allow for a custom design. We sent them an inspiration photo of what we were looking for along with the color scheme and they absolutely knocked it out of the park on the looks. The cake was well received by everyone at the party. Since I was unable to get one of their more daring and creative flavors as the custom cake, I did go ahead and order a dozen of their Dubai chocolate cupcakes and very much enjoyed them.

Not to mention, they also killed the blue sky design that made the final effect with our airplane topper simply perfection! It was a focal point of the reception. I truly cannot overstate how amazing this cake was. And being from a family of bakery aficionados, we have high standards. They killed it! Even though our wedding guest count was 33 people, we asked for a 50-guest cake and I'm so glad that we did because still enjoying the leftovers 3 days later!

The Social Cafe in Palm Springs has been an absolute dream to work with! We recently secured the…read morespace for our monthly mixer, Valley of the Dolls, and could not be happier with how our very first event turned out. From start to finish, the experience exceeded all expectations. Working with Events Manager Nicci and the GM was seamless and genuinely enjoyable. They were incredibly attentive, responsive, and open to collaborating on a custom event tailored to our needs. As an Event Planner myself, I truly appreciate when a venue takes the time to listen and accommodate -- and The Social Cafe absolutely delivered on that front. The setup was perfect for our mixer. The charcuterie spread was beautifully done, and the custom lemonade and iced tea station was a thoughtful touch that our guests loved. Everything felt curated, intentional, and aligned with the vibe we wanted to create. Beyond the event itself, the space is simply wonderful. It's warm, welcoming, and full of personality, with vibrant LGBTQ+ artwork and a layout that encourages connection. There's so much opportunity to grow our monthly event here, and we're excited about what's ahead. The Social Cafe also shines as a daily neighborhood gem. Their coffee and pastries are fantastic, and if you're a breakfast lover, this spot is a must-visit. They also offer an extensive lunch menu with delicious pizzas, fresh salads, sandwiches, and shareables. I especially love that they feature rotating local artists on the walls -- every visit feels fresh and inspiring. Thank you to The Social Cafe team for such a welcoming and successful start to our monthly events. We're thrilled to continue building something special in such a beautiful, inclusive space!
