I moved to Sacramento from San Jose. I asked my previous groomer in SJ if she knew anyone in Sac who is a groomer. She mentioned Angelique, who happens to work at pampered paws. After getting in touch with Angelique, I made an appt to get my black lab/golden retriever mix groomed. Angelique did an AMAZING job! My dog, Baxter, smelled sooooo good and was soooo shiny after being groomed! I really appreciate Angelique taking her time and doing such a thorough job! I now have found Baxter's new groomer. Called for an appointment Saturday morning for my puppy's first grooming appointment.. Didn't expect that when I asked for an appointment ASAP she would make time THAT AFTERNOON for us! When we took her in for her appointment, the owner told us that since it was her first time it would be a lengthy process.. We were surprised to hear that it would take 2 1/2 hours to complete the process, but it made sense after she explained puppies take time to settle. Let me tell you, BEST 2.5 hours and $25 we ever spent! We will definitely be back to get her grooming needs fulfilled in the future!! read more

Kaitlynn was great with our Toy Poodle Chip. Grooming is not his favorite thing. When we picked him up, he was happy to see us but NOT upset at all. She did a great job on pulling his ear hair and on shaving the hair on his puppy feet. Just an amazing job! Would highly recommend her. read more

I have been coming here for about 5 yrs. i am impressed with each groomer that I come across. I understand that you can't make a great living at this and so groomers come and go but all the more said about what the owner must expect in her employees. Each groomer we fall in with will listen and try their best to surprise you with the results. Each groomer will take the time to sit and listen to problems and give advice and then come to an agreement of what to do. My old dog doesn't need vaccinations to come here and for that I'm thankful. There's just something very special about the owner, Rhonda. She works hard, takes her job very serious & you can leave your dog there knowing she's in good hands & will get star treatment. ...but what really touched my heart was how I had been thinking of all the designer breeds that I see go in and out, and knowing how sometimes I can't always afford to have her groomed on a regular basis, but do it myself, so there are these gaps in our visits there. Well, one day after our first visit, I hadn't been back for a few months & I walked to the store next to her shop & she was coming out of the store...saw me & my dog...my little old rescue dog of questionable breeding...and she remembered my dog's name! That meant a lot to me! My Abbey may go in there tap dancing on her long toenails, but she always comes out walking around on her little pampered paws, with her head & tail held high! I'm glad Pampered Paws is my dog's groomer! read more

I've never taken my huskies to a groomer before and wanted to give it a try. They don't like baths whatsoever and I already knew the groomers would have a handful with them. On top of that, it was shedding season so they had so much fur coming out and it was a complete hot mess. My male husky Baikal has a long coat and you can make a couple blankets out of his shedded coat. I comb both of them fairly often but that only does so much. His belly was a disaster with the fur all tangled up as well as his behind. I've been looking for a groomer that would take great care of them and do a good job. Well they didn't do a good job, they did a fabulous job!!!! They're both so clean and so soft! They smell really good too! I will definitely be coming here when my dogs need another grooming session! Oh and the prices are so beyond fair I was very surprised. If you're looking and hesitating about a groomer like I was, no need for that anymore, just bring them here and get that worry off your mind because they look like a completely different dog now! I have three little pugs (okay, not that little) and one had recently been traumatized at the vet during a nail trim. I explained the situation to Stephanie and she worked with my shy, skittish Bartie with calmness, patience and tenderness. I have been taking the three of them there almost monthly for over a year and the pugs have come to look forward to visiting Stephanie! I ask them if they're ready to go see Stephanie and have a bath and they race me to the car, then again, race me to the door when we arrive. This is my ginger official grooming services I came here a month ago it was about 4 ish asking for a appt last min, earlier that day I just came from going around town asking for appts starting at 1 everyone was booked all the way to the following week I gave up until I called this amazing place they ask the general questions on how big was she breed to get an idea if it was going to be a project luckily ginger is a mix breed a "chiweenie" she openly told me to come in she had a opening it's a bit hard to find once u go there you will feel more comfortable on where the place is, anywho I gotten stephany she is just the sweetest person EVER I was curious about the pricing also my dog is only 10 pounds but the price was indeed right it cost $20 ! Oh I love this place. I had an appointment with Rhonda. I took my Shih Tzu in for a haircut and when I picked him up, he looks absolutely adorable. I like how she styled my dog and I also like how she specifically told me my dog's least favorite part about grooming. I will definitely come back. I should have wrote this about five months ago. I have been taking my Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier (Maggie) to Pampered Paws since she was a baby. I had a great groomer named Roxy, but she had to leave do to medical issues. We now have Katlynn who does a fabulous job! My dog loves going there. I also have to give the groomers there high praise. If it wasn't for Cheyenne and Rhonda (the owner) this poor older severely matted cocker spaniel my fiance and I found out in the pouring rain might not have made it. I was desperate to find this dog help and fast. I called a vet first no help there. Then I called my groomers and told them. If it wasn't for Cheyenne, Rhonda, and another lady from Nextdoor neighbor who payed for many medical expenses I honestly do not think he would have survived. Turns out his jaw was fractured and he was microchipped. I personally spoke with the owner and it was obvious she wasn't going to care for this dog. But Cheyenne did when no one at Pampered Paws had to. I can't say enough good things. I didn't have the money to help this poor dog but they did out of the kindness of their hearts. I didn't want to take him to the pound or spca. I am forever grateful to them!! My Maggie will always be a Pampered Paws customer getting fully groomed and my three legged Max will always get his nails trimmed there. (He's much more low maintenance and we can bath him ourselves. lol) read more

Lucille grooms our three Maltese Poodles and does a super excellent job. They come home happy (and not traumatized, as they have been in the past from other groomers), clean, and beautiful. I must say I was a little tenuous given a couple of the reviews. No need - these ladies are fabulous. Completely and totally accommodating of our crazy schedule (above and beyond, truly). Most importantly, they took fantastic care of our dog. They are clearly thoughtful, concerned and diligent in what they do. We are admittedly not very good at keeping up with the buckets of hair that our Pyr sheds. I imagine it's a bit like sitting in the dentist chair with a mouthful of Oreos on board. Not a dream scenario. Kaitlyn and Roxy obviously took the time and were so kind with our pup. They could have taken the easy way and just clipped her down. Instead they did what was best for her which undoubtedly required a lot more effort on their parts. She was happy when we picked her up (as any dog owner knows - that's the tell tale sign) and we are over the moon. My husband came home and called to say that he just kept saying "wow!". We realized late this evening that it was contagious - as I walked by our 110 lbs of white fur and involuntarily also exclaimed, "wow!". I don't think she has ever looked this good coming out of winter. She has quite a pep in her step too. Many thanks to Kaitlyn & Roxy. Very impressed with how good they are with my dog. We adopted a terrior from the shelter a short time ago, who is just a nervous reck with any type of new situation. Normally i would not even have considered taking him to a groomer as I've seen a lot of dogs who are not treated well at all by groomers. However, after a run in with a skunk and multiple bathes at home, I finally conceded he would have to get professionally bathed. I called Petco first and they qouted me $70! For a 14 pound dog! I called here and received an extremely reasonable quote so I made a next day appt. When I dropped him off I felt horrible, I had visions of how I would pick him up completely traumatized and with even worse anxiety problems then before. To the contrary, when I arrived he was actually pretty happy looking and even let the groomer pet him while I was holding him, which literally shocked me. Not to mention that the horrific odor was %99 gone and his coat was the softest it had ever been. Take it from someone who does not trust my pets with very many people, your dog will be in caring hands here! read more

I live really close to here and read the good reviews so tried it out. I took my Yorkie for his first grooming experience here and Stephanie was so helpful. Very knowledgeable on the breeds and cuts; she has been doing this a long time. The only minor complaint I have is a lady (Im assuming Rhonda the owner) was sitting in a chair when we got there and wouldn't come answer the door even though stephanie was working with another dog. My pup was shaking like a leaf when we dropped him off so I was nervous. Stephanie called exactly when she said she thought she would be done (3 hours later). He looked so handsome when I picked him up! and he was happy when I got there. It costed $55 (I don't know how much these services usually are but seemed like a good deal for 3 hours of work- he had his ears and nails also). would definitely recommend her!! read more

Stephany (thats how she spells it...) Is great! Great energy, asks you exactly what your wanting with grooming your pet. We have a Shitzu. My dog has been other places and he has come home nervous, but when I pick him up from Pampered Paws he is relaxed which tells me they must be taking care of him right :) Just picked him up today, I was wanting a different look she suggested something for around his face ...picked him up and I was happy! Great job! I am not familiar with the other staff so I can only speak on her behalf, and have taken my dog there 4-5 times. Will go back, I live in Roseville. read more
