It was good, but it is no longer in business. It started out great, best reuben ever! For whatever reason, it really went down hill.

On a whim, we stopped by this coffee roaster and cafe on our way home from visiting a friend…read moreoutside Cedarville. So glad we did. We are mocha connoisseurs and didn't have high expectations. I will happily admit we were very wrong. Les Cheneaux opened their new building, right on the water, in January. It is beautiful; warm, spacious, contemporary and inviting. Plenty of room to sit, relax and gather with friends. And their deck. Wow. Beautiful waterfront views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Felt right at home. We ordered 16 oz mochas in mugs. They were steamy hot, creamy and beautiful. The taste was rich and smooth without being too sweet; just the way we like them. After viewing another customer's breakfast burrito, we decided to each try them. The food menu is limited to bagels, bagel egg sandwiches and burritos. We had the chorizo egg burrito with potatoes. It was excellent. With a small park next door, a library across the street and plenty of room to stretch your legs and walk along the water's edge, this cafe is a winner. We are already planning a return visit that will include daily visits to Lesl Cheneaux Coffee Roasters. Next trip, we will purchase beans and bring the good flavors home with us.

Great indoor and outdoor seating and WiFi too. I even order their beans to be shipped to California when we aren't at our cabin in Cedarville.

I was afraid the pancakes and french toast would be super sweet, but they weren't. The pancakes were fluffy and not too sweet. The toppings were well incorporated and not over powering. The French toast was perfectly cooked and not too big. The whipped cream was delicious and not overly sweet. I was afraid the coffee would be mediocre, but it was perfect. I wish I lived here so I could try more of the menu! Our server, Audley, was polite, understood the menu, and timely. It was the best breakfast I have ever had, so I wanted to make sure the staff knew what a great time I had. I asked to speak to the manager. Yelp is fine, but I strongly believe in paying compliments directly to those in charge. The manager could not have been less interested in talking to me. A middle aged, medium height, average sized, medium blonde haired woman with large earrings, anxious eyes, and a false smile... she was quick to come over and quick to ignore me. She made minimal eye contact, turned her body away from me, and proceeded to pick up plates before I had finished my sentence. She turned her body away before I was done speaking. As soon as she felt I had spoken long enough, she left. It was a strange experience for an otherwise pleasant meal. If I lived closer, I'd likely choose somewhere else for future breakfasts. When management isn't interested in doing their job, service tends to follow. It's too bad. If only she had managed to stand still, face me, and listen... I might have given this a five star review.

This place serves no frills, very good comfort food. Walked in here after a long day at Mackinac…read moreIsland. Our server Lisa was so warm and friendly (as if she was your mother) and took great care of us! Got the parmesan topped whitefish with creamy mushroom soup and coleslaw. The mushroom soup was creamy and hearty. I liked the coleslaw - just the right amount of sweet and sour for me. I enjoyed the fish very much. We would have gotten some desserts but we were so full. We did see that the cheesecake slices were huge! Would definitely recommend this place!

To place a carry out order, you must come inside and sit down at a table, then tell your server that you want to place a to go order. Lisa was helpful, told me the order would be out pretty quickly, and she brought me a glass of water for while I waited. I ordered the mackinaw burger with onion rings, and hot ham and cheese with fries. I also ordered a coconut cream pie and a Dutch cherry pie slice. All of this was to go, and she packed it up and brought me carry-bags for it. The coconut cream pie was good. The Dutch cherry was ok but, I have had better. The French fries were good--crispy and lightly seasoned. The onion rings were large and hot/fresh, but they are battered (I prefer breaded), and they are pretty greasy. The burger was nice sized and cooked well done, which I like. It came with cheese, lots of pickles, relish, lots of mustard, and just a little ketchup. The hot ham and cheese was okay. I chose white bread rather than rye or wheat. The bread was not special--seemed like white bread you'd buy at any grocery in a plastic wrapper. There's an up-charge for the onion rings. I say skip that and get the fries. For the 2 sandwiches, 1 with fries, one with onion rings, and 2 pieces of pie, my bill was $51.36 before any tip added on. I get that it's a short season up north here, so I expect everything to be a little pricey. If the burger had a bit of char and came on an upscale bun, if the hot ham and cheese came on a thicker toasted bread, I'd say ok. But for what we got, it was overpriced.

The staff were friendly and engaging the moment we walked into the door. It was def a home style feel to the building and interior. The place was full when we entered, but no one was ahead of us in line. We were seated with mugs of fresh coffee in front of us in five minutes. For food, we stuck to the basics: plates of two eggs/hash browns/toast, with sausage added to mine. Overall it was very good. The toast was thick, possibly homemade, but if not, it still wasn't the kind of industrial-grade bread lots of diners serve, My sausage wasn't greasy or bland in the least (which, again, is something too many diners settle for). Over-medium eggs were verging on hard cooked, but I guess that beats underdone. By the time we finished the line at the back had grown, and I'm sure those in it were glad to see us stand up. They probably also left just as satisfied as we did.
