I will happily admit we were very wrong. Les Cheneaux opened their new building, right on the water, in January. It is beautiful; warm, spacious, contemporary and inviting. Plenty of room to sit, relax and gather with friends. And their deck. Wow. Beautiful waterfront views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Felt right at home. We ordered 16 oz mochas in mugs. They were steamy hot, creamy and beautiful. The taste was rich and smooth without being too sweet; just the way we like them. After viewing another customer's breakfast burrito, we decided to each try them. The food menu is limited to bagels, bagel egg sandwiches and burritos. We had the chorizo egg burrito with potatoes. It was excellent. With a small park next door, a library across the street and plenty of room to stretch your legs and walk along the water's edge, this cafe is a winner. We are already planning a return visit that will include daily visits to Lesl Cheneaux Coffee Roasters. Next trip, we will purchase beans and bring the good flavors home with us.

While searching for a baker for our wedding, I got a chance to try and meet a few bakers from the…read morebridal show in Charlevoix. Because there were so many, I ended up getting a couple of the bakers confused. But regardless, I made an appointment for my fiancé (ATT) and I to head up north for a couple tasting appointments. Again, to my surprise, this location was at the baker's home, which was gorgeous! It sat behind a lake and we entered through the back door that led straight into the kitchen. You could definitely tell that this baker knew what she was doing because everything was laid out beautifully and organized. We had one of the last appointments and thought we would be sitting one-on-one with the baker, but noticed it was more like a tasting buffet, where we got to mix and match different flavor cakes and frostings, which was nice because we could talk about each one in private. There was a couple girls assisting the couples and available for any questions we had and even had several binders full of past wedding/celebration cakes. My personal favorite was the vanilla bean cake but had a hard time choosing a frosting. Personally, the frosting was a bit too sweet for me. We ended up not going with BED for our wedding, but definitely thought the price was similar to the bakers around northern Michigan. I believe there was an minimum of $250 that we had to spend, especially because it was going to be delivered to Castle Farms in Charlevoix, which isn't bad. But we ended up going with a baker in SE Michigan for $150 for the same amount of cake/cupcakes for 50-60 people.

Excellent quality and price! Ordered a two tier (9 inch, 6 inch, for 25-30 people) wedding cake for…read moreour reception on Mackinac Island. The cake and delivery fee were very reasonable, and the vanilla with vanilla bean frosting cake was so delicious (my mom kept ravings about it days after). The buttercream frosting was exactly to my specification. Highly recommend.

Order cost $26.27 The left most side of the shop is lined up with teapots and tea cups. The main counter spans from the left to right. The far right is the dining area. There is also a seating / dining area on the left side, looks brighter than the right side. Their tea pots and cups are cute. The fruit bowl isn't the ripest or most flavorful berries. Much of it is crushed and was not so appetizing. It was so-so. I ate the blueberries out of it only. The strawberries and blackberries looked a bit off. The oat milk latte wasn't too bad. If you get the to-go, do be sure to check the lid is on solidly. They do double cup and sometimes the lid can seem on, but may be obstructed by the double cups as seat it. They do have a surprisingly amount of pastries and donuts. The pumpkin spiced cider isn't too bad, not super flavorful, so, not a substantial amount of pumpkin spice to it. Again. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The cappuccino wasn't too great - it didn't taste like a cappuccino and it wasn't particularly good either. The apple cider was good but lacked chai. The barista and staff were very friendly.
