I would've given this place five stars, but then I spoke to the manager…read more This is the best breakfast I have ever had. I was afraid the pancakes and french toast would be super sweet, but they weren't. The pancakes were fluffy and not too sweet. The toppings were well incorporated and not over powering. The French toast was perfectly cooked and not too big. The whipped cream was delicious and not overly sweet. I was afraid the coffee would be mediocre, but it was perfect. I wish I lived here so I could try more of the menu! Our server, Audley, was polite, understood the menu, and timely. It was the best breakfast I have ever had, so I wanted to make sure the staff knew what a great time I had. I asked to speak to the manager. Yelp is fine, but I strongly believe in paying compliments directly to those in charge. The manager could not have been less interested in talking to me. A middle aged, medium height, average sized, medium blonde haired woman with large earrings, anxious eyes, and a false smile... she was quick to come over and quick to ignore me. She made minimal eye contact, turned her body away from me, and proceeded to pick up plates before I had finished my sentence. She turned her body away before I was done speaking. As soon as she felt I had spoken long enough, she left. It was a strange experience for an otherwise pleasant meal. If I lived closer, I'd likely choose somewhere else for future breakfasts. When management isn't interested in doing their job, service tends to follow. It's too bad. If only she had managed to stand still, face me, and listen... I might have given this a five star review.

The young lady that helped us went above and beyond in locating more Bump cake fudge! She was energetic and Sanders should be happy to have her on their team! The Needs Improvement: * At this time - I have no recommendations that need improvement. Overall: A solid 5 stars! We'll be stopping at Sanders the next time we're on Mackinaw Island and you should too!

This place leaves much to be desired. We stopped in to get breakfast and ordered a cinnamon roll,…read moreiced coffee, and breakfast sandwich. The cinnamon roll was big, and good but not great. However it was the best thing we got. The iced coffee was just their hot coffee poured over ice. Which immediately turned to watery lukewarm coffee. Not good. Last was the breakfast sandwich. Which was literally a frozen Jimmy Deans sandwich microwaved before our eyes for 4 bucks. Overall, the cinnamon roll was pretty good, but it's clear this place doesn't really care about going the extra mile. I wouldn't stop back here and see no reason for anyone else to either.

Even though they seemed like the world is on fire they took time to check in on us. Problem was that once the food was dropped off(piping hot no less!) Don't be afraid of the store layout inside as it's teeny tiny in there but seating was cozy once we got seated. This place has been around since 1954 slinging burgers... and it shows. Be careful how you ask the ice cream person - who seemed he wanted to be anywhere else - if you want a sample. I asked "to try" one of the flavors, and immediately he began scooping it out for me! (Apparently you have to ask for "a taste".). A single scoop in a cup is $7.50. All's well that ends well, the Coffee Toffee was delicious! I brought it over to the marina and comfortably vegged out watching the water, boats and enjoying my Coffee Toffee. I would have liked more and larger toffee bits, but a small complaint. Seating may be OK for ice cream, although when I was there the cafe was crowded and seats were all taken.

BEST. DONUTS. EVER…read more I am a HUGE fan of cake donuts and the donuts at Feed Bag did not let me down! Tucked away in Surrey Hills, The Feed Bag offers various donuts, hot dogs, nachos and other snacks to hold you over throughout your Mackinac Island visit. I've been to Mackinac Island a handful of times and I am constantly trying to find new places to visit and explore. After a 3 hour hike and my boyfriend complaining he was hungry (no surprise there!), I led us to The Feed Bag. my boyfriend is not the biggest donut fan, but he hasn't stopped talking about the donuts here in the weeks since! So fresh. So warm and comforting. My usual is a plain cake donut, but the real stand out here is the cake donut with sprinkles and a light amount of frosting. Tastes like Fruity Pebbles!
