    Best Burger

Honestly the best burger we have ever had! The burger was thick but not saturated with grease which I loved! Somehow they made the burger light and I don't feel all heavy after eating it. The lettuce and tomato are so fresh! And the bun to top it off was so nicely toasted! Again, not a lot of grease on everything like other burger joints. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Also, the fries are equally as good! Crispy waffle fries to die for!! We also got an order of the chili cheese fries! HEAVENLY! Love love love Bridgeview Diner! So so so good!

One thing that I can say during our visit to the Mackinac area, is that the Mackinaw City food scene needs some serious help. This is just another in a series of disappointing meals we experienced during our visit to the area. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a friendly cook and server and told we could be seated anywhere we wanted. After being seated the server took our order within a few minutes. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time but that's were the good ended. First the server delivered our drinks two small in plastic cups drinks without ice, which may be a thing but odd nonetheless. After delivering our food he didn't check on us again. Now let's talk about the food. My wife ordered the burger which was decent but in no way was it "the best burger in the world" as they claim. The burger was $9.50 and didn't even come with fries. I had the clam basket at $14.00 which was disappointing. The portion was small for the price, the clams were way over cooked in the frier and the fries were so so. The atmosphere in here is cute, as mentioned in the reviews, but I would suggest skipping it. I know this is a tourist area, but the food is way overpriced. And not that great. We were at another restaurant on Mackinac island the weekend before and got a way better meal and much better service for the same price.

Burgers are good. Cooked to order; but, it's the waffle fries that are the world's best. Top notch fries.

We were promptly greeted by a pleasant waitress wearing a dress that reminded me of something I'd seen my grandma wear in photos of when she was young. She was the only waitress but was able to handle all the customers efficiently. The menus offers a decent selection of sandwiches, salads, burgers and either breakfast all day or the catch of the week. Since this is a family restaurant there aren't a bunch of cooks in the back. I ordered the hand beer battered cod with a loaded baked potato and my husband ordered a jalapeño cheese burger. We also chose jalapeño poppers as an appetiser at the recommendation of the waitress. We were impressed that the water we received were LARGE glasses full of ice (they seem to be getting smaller these days) and surprisingly we never ran out. The jalapeño poppers were amazing! They were fresh half jalapeños, sliced with seeds removed, filled with fresh cream cheese (probably local) and dipped in the same batter as the fish. They were flash fried, not overly fried, so you could actually taste the peppers!! We both loved them! When our food came, my husband commented that he was impressed with the portion size compared to the prices, which were less than what was on the menu. He loved his burger and hand cut fries. The cod was delicious! I could only eat 1.5 of the large pieces so my husband finished it off! The only part of this experience that wasn't perfect was my baked potato was so large it wasn't cooked all the way through. We took it home where we'll finish cooking it and will eat it for lunch. We took a menu with us. We will be back to try the breakfast and definitely something from the dessert menu which includes pies, cheesecake, ice cream and shakes! They also have a sign that says Free Coffee on Tuesday (with purchase of course). If you find yourself in Onaway, stop in at Ma's!

The special was Country Fried Steak. I wasn't hungry and just got a hamburger, but my hubby got the special. Now, honestly, I'm not a sausage gravy fan. But when the very nice and efficient waitress put my husbands plate down I couldn't believe how good it smelled. He ate one of his eggs, then took a bite of the country steak, and his eyes got huge. He offered me a bite and I stopped eating my hamburger. He ate his fill, I had 4 bites of his Country Fried Steak, then we brought home almost half of the steak, it was that big. We're looking forward to warming it up and make some eggs here at home tomorrow. We'll be going out of our way to get this meal again!

The ladies working were very personable and our server got us menus as soon as we chose our seats. Tonight's special was a Fried Cchicken Mashed Potato Bowl. It came with choice of soup or salad and bread. I chose the Chicken Alfredo Soup. It was very hearty so I only ate a little bit knowing the bowl would also be filling. The Mashed Potato Bowl had pieces of fried chicken tenders, corn, mashed potato, cheese, and gravy. It was very filling! I really like this restaurant and will come back but breakfast is really my favorite meal here.

The Farmer's Table is conveniently located just off the Wolverine, MI exit of I-75. It looks like it may have once been a gas station; very unassuming building with a huge parking lot for all sorts of vehicles, trucks and RV's. Once you step inside, the magic happens. Cute and cozy, filled with charming little tables and a mercantile area, the friendly staff will greet you and make you feel at home. Their menu is varied with many entrees made from locally sourced ingredients. This concept feels fresh and healthy, though the entrees themselves feel like grandma's cooking. Not fancy or trendy, but hearty, flavorful home cooking. My husband chose a pork chop, baked potato, corn and side salad. The photo of the pork chop looks juicy and tender; it was just that. He said it was the best pork chop he's ever had. The apple glaze was really good. I chose the chicken cordon blue, to sample something I would not make at home. It was rich, a tad salty yet very good. The side corn was amazing, as was the apple slaw. Next time I'll ask for mashed potatoes without the dark gravy. We took a small fried raspberry pie for dessert on the road and enjoyed mulling the through their homemade bakery items. The prices were very reasonable. We will be making this stop a regular on our way up north. Look forward to trying their brunch items, which get raved reviews.
