Honestly the best burger we have ever had! The burger was thick but not saturated with grease which I loved! Somehow they made the burger light and I don't feel all heavy after eating it. The lettuce and tomato are so fresh! And the bun to top it off was so nicely toasted! Again, not a lot of grease on everything like other burger joints. LOVE LOVE LOVE! What in the heck? I'm hoping that my visit was just an anomaly and not their typical take-out experience. I literally waited 50 minutes for my order. As in, standing outside of the restaurant because they wouldn't let me come in. We ordered two burgers, a grilled cheese, chicken tenders and fries. And the menu here is very small, so it's not like they're having to switch between different cuisines here. The menu is burgers, fries and other fried things, so they should have this down pat. And then when we got our food, it was $46 for two burgers, a grilled cheese, chicken tenders fries and one Coke. And the grilled cheese and one of the burgers was from the kids menu! Holy hell. Then they forgot our drinks, so the server went and got a Dixie cup of Coke with some ice in it ... with no lid. I was like, "Do you have a lid I could put on this cup? We're taking this order to go." And he goes, "Sorry, we're all out of lids." Ahahaha! You're out of lids at lunchtime on a weekend? Alright, buddy. So 50 minutes later, I take my $46 bag of food and Coke with no lid and get the heck out. The food was not worth the price point nor the time spent waiting. It was your typical fast food diner food. I don't know what the heck I just experienced, but I'm hoping that my experience was not the norm for this place. One thing that I can say during our visit to the Mackinac area, is that the Mackinaw City food scene needs some serious help. This is just another in a series of disappointing meals we experienced during our visit to the area. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a friendly cook and server and told we could be seated anywhere we wanted. After being seated the server took our order within a few minutes. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time but that's were the good ended. First the server delivered our drinks two small in plastic cups drinks without ice, which may be a thing but odd nonetheless. After delivering our food he didn't check on us again. Now let's talk about the food. My wife ordered the burger which was decent but in no way was it "the best burger in the world" as they claim. The burger was $9.50 and didn't even come with fries. I had the clam basket at $14.00 which was disappointing. The portion was small for the price, the clams were way over cooked in the frier and the fries were so so. The atmosphere in here is cute, as mentioned in the reviews, but I would suggest skipping it. I know this is a tourist area, but the food is way overpriced. And not that great. We were at another restaurant on Mackinac island the weekend before and got a way better meal and much better service for the same price. read more

Everyone really enjoyed the "worlds best burger." Buyer beware it does not come with fries. I think the menu should include what each menu item comes with ie. Lettuce/pickles etc. it's just more work for the server. I had the chicken tenders and fries and there is no barbecue sauce option.. boo. Also in my opinion overpriced. The burgers were great. Fries are fantastic. We had a group of 12 and were able to be seated right away. We were in Mackinaw celebrating my grandmothers 87th bday. After we sang her Happy Birthday the chef turned on another birthday song and turned up the radio! It was a very sweet gesture that we all enjoyed! We will be back! read more

This is the best diner in the world!!! I walked in and wowza! All of the decorations were so cool and the place was superbly clean. Even the cups were brand new! You could tell the chef really cared about the food and his customers. The burgers were amazing. I rate the meal an 11/10. Even the bill was served on its own dish. This restaurant is so adorable and has amazing food! I am vegan and had the veggie burger (i normally don't love veggie burgers) but this one was amazing! (It was an impossible burger.) We thought any diner would be a fun place and have decent prices. Sadly we were mistaken. Walking in the place is a little run down and I get it's a diner but smelling musty is different than being nostalgic. I definitely wasn't blown away by friendliness of the staff as they seem to be there just to get the job done. There was no kids menu and every breakfast entree was $10 for the smallest amount of food that was just alright. $60 later my family left very unhappy, and still hungry. read more

The entire time we were at the diner we watched the cook touch our food bare handed after touching the timer, his phone, and rubbing his snotty nose. He didn't use any tongs or utensils to pick up food, he just grabbed it, touching every lettuce piece, tomato, and fry. He handed us our food with his thumb on top of the bun of the burger. The guy running the show was very rude and was touching my food when served to me. He was very rude to other customers just trying to ask a question about the place. The staff obviously didn't take the jobs seriously we couldn't hear our waiter when he talked to us. The music was so loud I couldn't think. The building overall looked like it hadn't been cleaned up in a while. And the worst part was that the food looked good but the "worlds best burger" had no flavor and the chili cheese fries were made in a microwave. As my friends and I approached what appeared to be both a promise and a dream we were bombarded by the realization that we were, us, just a few teens from Dearborn, about to indulge in the WORLD'S BEST burger. I was the friend that forced the driver to stop. The one that talked about eating the BEST BURGER in the WORLD for weeks prior. We travelled from Virginia to do this. The WORLD's BEST burger, come on! I was immediately turned off by the longer than 2 minute wait. I assumed the shack like structure wouldn't have more then 6 people to feed at once. I was wrong. It wasn't more than 3 people, including the couple in front of us that hadn't even ordered yet. They couldn't even go inside the restaurant, to see the WORLD's BEST BURGER being prepared and delivered. I feel sad that they missed out on this experience, but I did too. They complained but a standard and price must be met to fulfill the needs of the WORLD'S BEST BURGER. After they ordered, my friends and I plainly asked the waiter if he thought the sandwich was truly THE WORLD'S BEST BURGER? He said he enjoyed it. What? I'm sorry...huh? He didn't live and breathe the burger as I would've liked, but I thought little of it. Nothing was stopping us. We ordered and waited for what felt like months. The WORLD'S BEST BURGER surely needed some time to prepare. After we got it it became clear that there was nothing to be done with the food. I lost my appetite after realizing that maybe I wasn't ready to eat the BEST BURGER in the WORLD. But, my friends took a bite. Their feedback was rough...but expected. Lacking salt...a strange pickle curry on the lower bun...and not to mention I found a picture of Steven Spielberg on the inside of my box. It looks super flashy on the outside, having an old time style paint job, with of course the pièce de résistance the big red sign stating "Best Burger in the World". Already a bold claim, but I love me a good burger. My friends and I try to enter this restaurant to "see the wizard" but we're stopped by the guardian of the gates asking us if we were eating here. We answered the dumb rhetorical question and got open seating next to pictures that show wonderful views around Mackinaw City, as well as, the dust that surrounds windowsill. We were greeted with 70's jams blaring through the speaker that was so loud we couldn't hear the waiter. The waiter looks like he's at the verge of tears and not all the way there since he kept ignoring us. Next to us is a bar top with containers of...food? The entire bar side is closed and everything's just right there. My friends family member came into the diner to grab something from her brother, and were even considering staying at one point. That's when this short old bald guy started telling them to leave, and kept interrupting our conversation. Turns out that was the cook. Good job chasing out your customers. Also, "best burger in the world" is a very bold claim. $9.50 is not worth the price. The burger didn't have much flavor, idk if the cook believes in seasonings but, heads up, it makes meat taste better. The toppings were decent but far from the best burger I've ever had. read more
