Brisket and Pork Tacos - topped with coleslaw!
Daniella B.

I don't usually give 5 but worth it this time - Very efficient - scan QR code when you get there! Our wait was less than 5 min for 2 of us at 7 pm on a Saturday! Staff was cleaning & turning tables quickly. Food had great flavor and came out fast & hot! Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, not pushy but checked on us in a timely fashion. Lots of seating options, lots of TVs. Will definitely be back!

Mozzarella sticks

This was our second time here, but have had two good experiences. We did come semi off season both times or during the week so we didn't have any wait in the bar area. We especially came back for the mozzarella stick skillet- unlike any other cheese stick we have had, but so good. We also had the chicken sandwich and a few beers- all very tasty! Bartender was super friendly. We will definitely be back sometime

Wonderful culinary experience. In a elegant setting for a brewery. We had the brisket, pork belly, deep blue flat bread, and the Fish tacos! Everything was top notch. The fiah tacos wete next level. Served fast and hot with a smile. We will be back for more, now it's a must stop when we visit.

"I drink & I know things"

Highly recommend smoked white fish spread. Our server was very nice & attentive. My husband found 2 beers he liked & I had St Julian's black & blue cider. Great place to get away from wildfire smoke.

Cauliflower all meat pizza and smoke wings both very good!

Food was very delicious! Also tasted freshly made! Service was very quick and nice staff. Was a very welcoming place along with cleanliness and cozy.

A $9 side salad?
Ali S.

The good... the bartender was kind, helpful and quick with service. The bad... the food was meh, especially for the price. I was in shock when I received the bill and my small side salad was $9. The smoked chicken wings were dry and bleh. The flatbread pizza was your average pizza. The host was impatient and unfriendly. He cut me off when I was asking about wait times and then quickly moved past us to call another table. I don't care how busy you are, that's rude. I had been wanting to stop here for years... not sure why now. What a disappointment.

We had dinner here because beer and a bbq sounded great. I tried their homemade IPA which was very good. They had a good selection to choose from. For dinner I had the pulled pork sandwich. It came topped with slaw. I upgraded to tots, per the recommendation of the waiter. Good choice. Tots were so crispy and good. Pulled pork was good as well. Some nice crispy pieces. It was a huge sandwich. Husband had the Mac and cheese with pulled pork on top. Tons to eat. The place had lots of TVs. We asked to turn on one to one of the baseball playoff games which they did. Our server was great. Gave us good suggestions.

A solid summer salad

Brewery #272 Really more of restaurant that brews beer than an actual brewery but that's splitting hairs. Pops and I came in and had dinner. I got a cup of the chili and a Summer Salad. The chili had brisket, ground beef and bison in it and while good was a little on the sweet side. This was odd to me but not in a bad way. The salad was made with oranges, strawberries, feta and walnuts. Quite refreshing. Rusted Spoke has about 20 beers on tap of which only 5 are their own and the rest were guest beers. I got a flight that consisted of 3 of their beers: Insurrection Ale (wheat beer), DEI Hire (Pale Ale) and Space Filler (American IPA) and I got a Tangerine Haze from Big Lake Brewing. All of them pretty good but nothing wowed me. The service was solid, the outdoor patio are was nice and everything was solid. In a touristy type town, that's a good thing.

Dry hamburger
Tammy D.

The service was good. The food is just okay. The pork sandwich is really dry and lots of sauce was needed. My hamburger was dry too but I did say no pink. The $7 beer was good but I was poured the wrong one. They fixed it. The table set up was located by the bathroom entrance so not a comfortable area to sit. I suggest moving that table from that area. Credit card charge is 4% and they clearly let you know which is a good thing. I was Missing my pickles too but asked for them .

The food was amazing. I would definitely go back. If you are staying in the Mackinaw City I would recommend going to this place.

We came here looking for a good breakfast and found a fair one. We arrived here to the place…read moredeserted just after the opening time. We ordered our food and more people came in though the place didn't fill up more than a few booths. The bacon, eggs, and toast were all good, but the pancakes were definitely lacking in our opinion. The service was fine, not exemplary, but didn't fail to show up or be timely. The location is quiet and plays classical music. If you're staying in a hotel and would prefer a non-complimentary breakfast meal you could do worse.

While we were waiting, another family arrived after us and stood there for about 15 minutes without anyone greeting them or even saying, "We'll be right with you." Once we were seated, we were placed in a corner while most other guests were seated out on the main dining floor. It honestly felt like we were forgotten about. Our waitress rarely came back to our table. We were seated at a table with no napkins in the dispenser, so we had to ask for those, and no straws were brought with our drinks. It was difficult to even get our waitress's attention. If you're staying at the hotel and planning to use the breakfast coupon, be aware that only four menu items qualify, and none of them are particularly appealing or a good value. I ordered a Diet Pepsi but was served Dr Pepper instead. I assumed it was an honest mistake the first time, but my refill was also Dr Pepper. When I finally mentioned it, I was told that their "Diet Coke" was Dr Pepper, which didn't make any sense since Dr Pepper and Diet Coke are completely different soft drinks. To top it off, our bill was over $60 for food that was average at best. Overall, the service and value just weren't there. I'd recommend saving your money and eating at Darrow's or Pancake Chef instead.

This place serves no frills, very good comfort food. Walked in here after a long day at Mackinac…read moreIsland. Our server Lisa was so warm and friendly (as if she was your mother) and took great care of us! Got the parmesan topped whitefish with creamy mushroom soup and coleslaw. The mushroom soup was creamy and hearty. I liked the coleslaw - just the right amount of sweet and sour for me. I enjoyed the fish very much. We would have gotten some desserts but we were so full. We did see that the cheesecake slices were huge! Would definitely recommend this place!

To place a carry out order, you must come inside and sit down at a table, then tell your server that you want to place a to go order. Lisa was helpful, told me the order would be out pretty quickly, and she brought me a glass of water for while I waited. I ordered the mackinaw burger with onion rings, and hot ham and cheese with fries. I also ordered a coconut cream pie and a Dutch cherry pie slice. All of this was to go, and she packed it up and brought me carry-bags for it. The coconut cream pie was good. The Dutch cherry was ok but, I have had better. The French fries were good--crispy and lightly seasoned. The onion rings were large and hot/fresh, but they are battered (I prefer breaded), and they are pretty greasy. The burger was nice sized and cooked well done, which I like. It came with cheese, lots of pickles, relish, lots of mustard, and just a little ketchup. The hot ham and cheese was okay. I chose white bread rather than rye or wheat. The bread was not special--seemed like white bread you'd buy at any grocery in a plastic wrapper. There's an up-charge for the onion rings. I say skip that and get the fries. For the 2 sandwiches, 1 with fries, one with onion rings, and 2 pieces of pie, my bill was $51.36 before any tip added on. I get that it's a short season up north here, so I expect everything to be a little pricey. If the burger had a bit of char and came on an upscale bun, if the hot ham and cheese came on a thicker toasted bread, I'd say ok. But for what we got, it was overpriced.
