Well, this is your obvious tourist area Bar and grill. It's western themed and extremely large. The seats at the high top were saddles. Not very convenient for the senior side of the tourist industry. The rest of the chairs were very small in comparison. I know I'm a larger person but my friend is only 5 6 160 and his hips were being pinched just as well. The food was decent but it was definitely freezer to table that is when we were actually served. I know it was end of season, but the late step behind the bar which was approximately four or five at one time definitely didn't have time for customers. They did have a lot of time to gossip back and forth are complain about situations that they have worked through. Finally know that because they did that you're shy of everyone sitting at the bar. I don't know how places with the footprint that large continues to make it in our economy with their quality and make it in our economy. Sorry about that.

Walked in to buy a glass n bought a tshirt instead. Met a wonderful lady bartender Jacqueline so we had a shot n beer too. She has fantastic personality and shared ideas of where to trail walk in UP (Narnia). We will definitely go back again.

My fiancée had the wild game burger with sweet potato fries. Said it was delicious

The server was a sweetheart. So friendly and attentive to our 8 top group. The Parmesan crusted whitefish was moist and so delicious - not to mention HUGE! My fiancée loved the Big Game Burger with sweet potato fries. I stole the garlic dill spear served on the side. One of the best I've had in ages

Brewery #274 Yet another tourist trap but that's basically the whole town. Dixie Saloon and Brewery as they now call themselves is kind of a misnomer. The top of the Mitten of Michigan is about as far from Dixie as you can get. We stopped here to eat and get a few beers. They supposedly brew their own beer and have several to choose from. I just grabbed a couple of their Hazy Enough which is the name of their hazy IPA. It was actually pretty good. For dinner I got a Reuben Sandwich with "spicy beans" as a side. I wanted French Fries but it was a 4.75 UPCHARGE for fries. WTF? That's not the cost that's the upcharge. Are these fries hand cut with Ginsu knives cooked in Lambda luxury olive oil from Greece then tossed in white truffles? Anyway the sandwich itself was pretty good with a decent amount of meat. The beans were mediocre at best. Spicy beans equal: Campbell's pork and beans with a few pieces of jalapeno and pineapple. Overall everything was ok but like everything in Mackinaw City, it's overpriced for what you get.

Only at the bar however the menu looks impressive and the bar service is excellent. Great friendly customer service and conversation.

The extra fees not posted anywhere that are added to you check at this customer unfriendly place.

Food and services were good, but what will make me not return is the $5.33 of extra fees and the assistant manager's condescending tone. I do not do business with price gougers. The keyhole bar, is cheaper, better food, and has no added fees

Got seated quickly. Fun decorations every where. I had the Red-Eye Reuben very good bread was perfect and the corned beef was so yummm! Staff was attentive and polite kept our drink full and cleared plate when empty. Will stop back next time in mackinaw !

It is definitely a bar with some character (writing and money on the walls). For everyone saying it is a tourist trap, well the whole town is geared towards tourist. They do offer a good number of beer to choose from and the food is typical bar food. I would say that the serving sizes are massive. We couldn't finish either plate. We had the Mackinac n Cheese and Red Eye Rueben. Both had good flavor. We also tried the Soulful Red and Happy Blonde beer. Not a bad spot for a quick dinner or to grab a beer. They even had a guitarist the night we were there.

Beer was really good, food was ok. Fries were good. Our server was great and I liked the live music. Food is just really overpriced

    Turkey burger and beans

Just Horrible!!! I know it is tourists bait place, pricy and unreasonably poor service, but heres what happened. We dined around 10 and thought a turkey burger was great that time. And oh boy did i not expect that my burger came out with just a a turkey patty sandwich in a bun. I thought it was a mistake became it is 15.99usd for the turkey burger, so the server explained that i have to pay extra for tomato, lettuce and onion. If i was just informed, i should have said yes but that was so surprising to me. On top of that, that side of beans was like really from a can. I know because i ate those canned beans. It was the most disgustingly and utterly expensive thing for a mediocre burger. If i have known, we should have gone to mcdonalds

Food here was great, and massive servings for the price. Live music was fun. My only complaint was that they gave me the wrong side.

It was my father's 88th birthday. The manager helped to make it very special. I'm so grateful for the above and beyond.

We both had fish, my wife the walleye and me the whitefish. (I had it blackened and it was a couple extra bucks though. I've never seen additional fee for blackened.) BUT nonetheless it was EXTREMELY delicious. They also had a wide variety of craft beers. It was crowded but got in after only about a 5 minute wait. (too cold for the outside seating area). We were in the back by the pool table but wasn't too bad and not too loud so we could carry on a conversation. Alicia our waitress was extremely nice and the service was extremely quick considering how busy it was. So, our front desk receptionist was absolutely correct. HANDS DOWN !

No frills, no fuss--just a relaxed atmosphere and a reliable place to grab a bite or a drink. I walked into Pancake Chef -- which is on the strip with all the other shops in Mackinaw City -- and there were hardly any people eating there, so I started to second-guess my choice. But, I was greeted warmly and quickly. They were switching from breakfast to lunch, and when I walked in, they still had the breakfast bar up but were also offering the salad bar. I took a look, but it didn't appeal to me, so I looked at the menu instead. What caught my eye was the banana bread French toast. It turned out to be amazing! Three large, thick pieces of banana nut bread turned into French toast and served with fresh fruit. It was so good that I didn't even want syrup or butter on it! I wasn't quite as hungry as I thought I was, so I only ate half of it at the time. But, being a good traveller, I had a cooler and ice with me, so it made my entire journey with me. Nothing like stepping into a car that smells of banana bread! I actually finished it after I got home. Even reheated several days later, it was still really good!
