I should've went with my gut…read more I had to go back to my VRBO that had no food and heat up one of my kids Mac n cheese cups because I was so hungry since I couldn't finish my tacos. Although this place was recommended by many, it's because they haven't had actual authentic Mexican food. No fault of their own. In this economy, if you are going to charge over $20 per plate, you better get a better cook. I'm never usually this harsh, but I am very upset at our family spending $60 here. First off, if you have to come here, get the fajitas because they are hard to screw up and will at least be hot. Don't ask for salsa though to go with it. We were charged $5 extra. Very bland. Which is like??? We make salsa at home with three ingredients and it tastes better. Tomato, pepper and salt. I don't know what they are doing. Carne asada tacos came out cold. I asked for one taco to have nothing on it because my son likes carne. He hates ground beef so we can't go off the kids menu and they don't do ala cart for carne. Waitress got real stressed out that I asked for one of my three tacos to be plain. She was like they don't like substitutions. I'm like okay just make them all plain then, idk what to tell you?? That stressed her out more. And guess what, the kitchen did the one taco no problem. She was like oh they didn't mind. So you made us feel bad for no reason? Also she stated they were out of guacamole and my taco came with guac on it. Place was not clean. Windows were dirty. It needs a lot of work. Again, charging $20 a dish, dang. Rice has to be store bought. Prove me wrong and show me how you make it. Beans were good. Like other reviews said, they run out of food. No birria, no shredded chicken and when we left, they told people no carne. So what is left??? Jose must've stopped working here because best tacos in the area? Maybe in the past but not in the future. I'm giving 3/5 because my husband said fajitas were fine. My carne asada was 1/5. Also, not one person spoke Spanish. As a Mexican American family visiting here, the confusion of authentic was real. I would not spend your money here unless they bring cost down. Go to Clyde's and get a burger. I'm still thinking about it!

Fish Trolley's beat all of those!! Made to order fish and fries, so crisp. We appreciated the hint of horseradish in the coleslaw too! And the key lime dessert was just the right thing to end the meal, creamy and limey but not overpowering. If you are in St Ignace, drive 2 miles west of all the fast food places and grab food from the this roadside trolley...you won't be sorry :-)

They also serve local highland beef burgers, if you or someone in your group that isn't into fish. I bet they are amazing, but I'm very much into fish. Instead of a food truck this is a very cool repurposed old trolley. The service was fast & friendly. They have picnic tables on the property to eat at. I found one under a shade tree & enjoyed by meal al fresco on the beautiful Michigan summer day. The fish, coleslaw & tartar sauce both tasted VERY fresh, I do believe the fries were the frozen kind, but that's fine (most places are). The fish was flaky ' not "fishy" at all. I would go back on my next UP trip for sure.

Clyde's! Clyde's! I've been wanting to visit this place for at least 10 years. I'd read the…read morereviews, looked at the customer photos of the burgers over and over, check out the menu photos... And drool. But for whatever reason, we'd always put it off when visiting our cottage in Moran, Michigan each June. Then today me, my wife, and our dog Jax dropped in. It was EXACTLY how I thought it would be. Old school drive-in vibe, friendly server, and delicious burgers in the comfort of the family SUV. Even the fries and onion rings were perfect. We ordered a plain burger patty for the dog, and our server even brought him a biscuit treat! Who does that? We'll be regulars every time we visit our Yooper friends in our favorite state from now on. There's a Taco Bell next door. Nobody cares lol. Go there now. Unless they're closed. In which case, wait until they're open. Pay attention people!

It's clearly a favorite among the locals, and it has the lively, welcoming atmosphere you'd hope for from a classic drive-in. The hamburgers were delicious and well prepared, and the onion rings, French fries, and other classic drive-in favorites were all satisfying. The staff was incredibly friendly and added to the overall experience. One thing that stood out during our time in the Upper Peninsula was how genuinely kind and welcoming everyone was. The Yoopers, as I believe they're called, are some of the most pleasant people we've encountered, and Clyde's Drive-In was no exception. Great food, a fun atmosphere, and friendly service. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
