I had a project vision and Marlow's helped me bring it to life. I had the previous stone removed as it wasn't salvageable and replaced it with a Ruby Star Sapphire (mine and my mom's favorite), which they helped me by sourcing. They brought in a few choices and allowed me to pick which stone I felt best fit the project. The basket required reshaping and extra work, but they did it so that the Star Sapphire fits beautifully. I love that I can carry around a piece of my mom. The ring shines and the sapphire has three star lines with indoor lighting and one distinct bright star in the sun. I highly recommend Marlow's if you are needing someone to go above and beyond on a project! They truly excel in their craft and all staff are extremely warm and welcoming.

She has an excellent eye for the unique without going over the top into 'weird'. I think she's as much curator as she is proprietor. I also appreciate the fact that much of merchandise comes from local & domestic artists and other small businesses. Even the stuff that is made overseas comes through small suppliers rather than the big distribution channels that bring in the same old stuff. Still, Birches Habitat is definitely worth checking out for the style-conscious consumer, and absolutely the best boutique in North Bend! We're Hispanic and definitely got the vibe that one of the staff members was nervous we were going to steal something! The woman asked if my husband needed help 4x in the span of 20 minutes. He stepped outside to get reception and when he returned, she says "back again, I see". He met up with me towards the back wanting to leave and then she came up to ask if she could hold our items up at the front, I guess because she thought we were in cahoots. The whole thing is extra hilarious because we could easily afford to buy the entire store 4x over. She was very excited to get out and get some new clothes but was very disappointed when she got home. She came home and immediately started telling me that the women working there were rude and dismissive. She tried to make small talk and was ignored. Then despite spending several hundred dollars, overheard the two women begin talking shit about her as she was leaving. I hope the owner sees this and knows they are losing customers because of the snooty, rude, disrespectful staff they have there.

As far as antiques go, there is a decent variety, but not everything is antique. It is closer to a pawn shop in some places rather than an antique store. An example is that there are old VHS tapes and CDs here for sale or books from 2005, which really isn't antique. Still there are gems here to be found, if you are looking for old dishes, pins, jewelry, or small bits and pieces of things. It is worth a visit if you're in the area, but I wouldn't drive to Snoqualmie just for this place.
