This company lacks consistent customer service and is not willing to take accountability for their mistakes. The Escrow process with this company was run of the mill and went fine. It turns out they owed us some money and issued a check a couple of years after closing. They issued a paper check to us which we temporarily misplaced during the pandemic. Upon locating the check we called Palomares to have the check reissued. The person on the phone (either by the name of Tracy or Tina) said even though it was extremely expired we should take it to the bank anyways. She explained what the bank would do is contact them and ask if they still want to honor the check. I asked again if they could just send us a new one since the check was over a year old and she insisted this was the best way to go about it. Of course, silly me for trusting her because the bank denied it on he back end, post teller deposit. I called in today to have the check actually reissued now that it had been denied and asked to be reimbursed for the additional fee my bank is charging me for the bad check. I first spoke with a gentleman named George who had the absolute best customer service and worked to get me in touch with the right person to assist me. Then along comes Debbie, with no customer service skills from the start which was frustrating transition. She came on to the line in a rude and hurried tone, "Hi this is Debbie and I reissued that check on the 20th because it was so old". I then explained to her what I was instructed by the previous agent and if they would issue an additional check to reimburse me for the fee my bank is charging because of that instruction, to which she responded "no we don't do that, the check was extremely old so it had to be reissued" I explained again for clarity that a team member at Palomares Escrow said they would NOT reissue the check when I asked them to do so and she immediately stated "well, the person who told you that is no longer here and the outdated check was reissued" trying to rush me off of the phone by restating what had been done (as though I did not hear her when she came on to the line with that information from the get go.) It was at this point I realized there was no reason in trying to further express my frustration to Debbie and that Palomares Escrow is not willing to take accountability for their mistakes. Not only should someone's employment status with the company not be shared with me, it's completely irrelevant if that person is no longer with the company. They were on the Palomares team at the time I called in for help and it was Palomares Escrow's responsibility to make sure they were doing their job and not handing out invalid information. Just because they are no longer working there does not absolve Palomares of what they might have caused while they were employed there. This review is not being posted because I want my fee reimbursed, this review is a warning for those that consider this business to be circumspect in your business dealings with Palomares Escrow and hold them accountable at all times. I can forego a reimbursement on the small fee, but the damage they cause to someone else might be more significant. If they are unwilling to cover such a piddly fee such as in my circumstance, who knows if they will take accountability and do the right thing in larger scale mistakes that costs people much more. read more

I am writing this review to give my full support to Holly Pruitt, the escrow officer who handled my listing which closed late July. Contrary to the review written on this site by the buyer in my transaction, my experience with Holly was outstanding. I cannot speak more highly of her. Not only is Holly very knowledgeable, and professional, but she gave 110% effort to keep everything organized and moving forward. There was a complication that arose in the last phase of the transaction which was due to the lender's eight day delay in (after the CD was issued) sending loan docs. The lender explained to us the internal issue they were experiencing that caused the delay and the lender accepted full responsibility. I am grateful to Holly for her calls, emails and efforts to keep things in order and on track. I have worked with many escrow officers over the years, and Holly is the one who works with heart and passion. I cannot thank her enough for all her hard work. We sold two homes in So. Cal between Jan 1 2017 and May 9 2017, and Palomares Escrow provided escrow services for both transactions. Brittany was the lead escrow officer for the first home and Cari was the lead escrow officer for the second home, both were professional, responsive, and experts at their trade. We did not directly choose Palomares Escrow, they were recommended by our realtor, which I'm sure has a long history with Palomares. However, working with Palomares on all the documentation needed to close escrow in a timely manner really did go quite smoothly, and when there were issues Palomares came up with solutions that worked well. First home sale took 30 days from opening to closing, while the second home about 25 days from opening to closing. Palomares has earned high marks with us and although we don't have any homes left to sale or even refinance, if, or when, we do we will seek out Palomares because they've done a great job. read more

As a first time buyer, you rely on the escrow company to make the process much easier and smoother while waiting to obtain your keys. However, this escrow company has been extremely frustrating to deal with; particularly, Holly Pruitt. My broker requested for paperwork to be sent by her to the lender on July 3rd and they still didn't get it until almost two weeks after and that's only because my broker kept pushing for the docs to be sent. Practically holding Holly's hands throughout this process when she's supposed to be the professional. So after making sure everything is submitted and completed on time on my end because I'm hoping to close escrow a few days early than expected, but not only that's not happening, I'm actually going to close escrow later thanks to Holly's inabilities to get the numbers corrected on my CD even after multiple emailing back and forth between her and myself; as well as multiple phone conversations between my broker and her. To add to the frustration, she had the decency to question my available funds for closing when she hasn't fixed the numbers on the final CD. If she's the professional and has the experience she'd never asked me that basing on the fact that I've already submitted my bank statements weeks prior to the lender and the escrow company with the total amount required for closing. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out but obviously she didn't get that. On top of that, I was supposed to be signing the final docs for closing today on 7/18 and yet again the final CD she sent is still incorrect but yet she wants me to wire transfer the money to escrow. Either she's running a scam for this company or she's extremely clueless. At this point, I just wanna get this over with and not have to deal with the escrow company or Holly Pruitt ever again nor will I be recommending their service to my family or friends. Absolutely, the most worse experience you can ever have as first time buyer. For buyers, make sure you tell the seller's agent not to use this escrow company or you will have to deal with insane headaches and After a few months, management had reached out to me regarding the experience I had with their escrow company. This place really is a disaster. I was they buyer and the seller picked them. I got calls from their office thinking I was the buying agent multiple times and never received documents they said they mailed to me on several occasions. They did mail them, but to my agents address (not appropriate). On top of that, they had the person doing the signing bring me a CD with the HOA documents to closing and I had to sign off on them without being able to read them. I live in 2015 and have an apple air without a CD reader (this is also why Netflix doesn't mail DVDs anymore) How about a Dropbox link or something? We got through the close and they didn't do their job with the HOA. They were supposed to send documents showing that I was the new owner. I emailed them with specific instruction to email the HOA and cc me so I knew it happened. I got the docs, but they didn't include the HOA on the email. WTF? I will refuse to use them in the future. They don't have docusign and are incapable of following the simplest instructions. Use anyone else and have a better experience. The best part was they sent me a postcard after the transaction asking how the service was. NO way! All zero stars. Is anyone actually reading those or do they go straight into the paper heap they use to organize stuff??? read more

THEE WORST Escrow company I've EVER worked with... Kari made a mistake on the TAX pro-rations on the final HUD... AFTER close of escrow MY CLIENT had to come out of pocket $2400 EXTRA dollars to pay taxes. (Remember this is AFTER close of escrow))..... Once closed and the ordeal is done, the escrow takes 2 business days to prepare and send closing statements (Commission Check). THEN, they misplaced the checks and send them SNAIL MAIL, when we SPECIFICALLY requested they send them OVERNIGHT. (I got charged $15 for the overnight fee, when they didn't even get overnight-ed)... I am the REALTOR who did my job THE RIGHT WAY, brought THEM the business, and I GET SCREWED!!! WTF! read more
