There's zero pressure to buy just good vibes and easy conversation, which honestly makes shopping way more enjoyable. The best part? Their pieces are special. This isn't a store where you see the same things everywhere else. I actually found my all-time favorite pair of super high waisted jeans here. I didn't even buy them on the spot went home, tried to be responsible, and couldn't stop thinking about them. The next day I ordered them online because I was like, nope, these are not getting away from me. I've picked up a few things from Assembly Hall now jewelry, jeans, shirts, pants and every single piece has been a win. The quality is great, the prices are reasonable, and everything feels thoughtfully chosen. One thing to know: things move quickly. Not in a stressful way just in a "if you see something you love, don't overthink it for a week" kind of way. You can absolutely walk away and come back... just maybe don't wait too long This is a small business I truly enjoy supporting, and I'm really glad they're here in the city. If you haven't checked out Assembly Hall yet, it's definitely worth a visit.

Prices range all over but you're supporting a small local business, local artists, and the quality is excellent. I've been here plenty of times before and have spent my hard-earned money supporting this business. When I came in today, I placed my drink on the small stand outside since drinks aren't allowed inside, and started looking for the same style of earrings I had lost. I had only been in the store for less than two minutes when an employee approached me and said something along the lines of, "Excuse me, can you finish your call outside or put headphones on?" I was simply on the phone with my mother catching up, and I was not being loud or disruptive. What bothered me most was that the employee never greeted me or acknowledged me when I walked in, yet was quick to approach me and address my phone call almost immediately. There were also no signs indicating that customers aren't allowed to be on the phone inside the store. I understand wanting to maintain a certain atmosphere, but I don't feel the way this was handled was particularly welcoming or necessary. Unfortunately, after this experience, I no longer feel comfortable supporting this business. It's disappointing, especially as someone who has been a returning customer and has supported this store multiple times.

I totally understand the return policy and the fact that they don't want you taking photos so you can find it cheaper elsewhere. Are the things more expensive than Amazon? Of course! But they have put in the effort of having a charming store where I can find all kinds of great gifts, so I am happy to pay up. I don't always know what I want to buy for someone until I see it, and I really appreciate the ability to browse in person. Our son always buys gifts here for his host families when he travels, and we take all of our SF visitors here too and they always find something great. They have such an eclectic and fun inventory!

There is no signage in the store or on the receipt regarding this policy. We were told we would have to speak with the owner the next day. When we went back the following day, the woman who claimed to be the owner pointed to an outdated, handwritten "HOLIDAY POLICY 2024". I told her that shouldn't apply to this purchase and it's disgraceful to be charging 4X the price and not be willing to refund. I was told that's the price you pay for being able to "touch the items" vs online purchases and she refused to budge on the store credit. DO NOT SHOP HERE! Attached is a photo which discredit's the shop's response and shows both the $76 charge and "outdated holiday return policy".

Everything is skillfully handmade and one-of-a-kind, making the prices reasonable and the pieces treasures that I cherish and protect. She uses quality, genuine materials and uses them in such stylish inventive ways, I sometimes come here to look at the pieces just as I'd visit a museum display. I love that she arranges her pieces in cabinets dedicated to a particular color because it makes it easy to find what you're looking for and allows to you see the great variety and creativity of her work. I've taken to buying presents for all my female relatives and friends here and they alway love them. I particularly love her chandelier and hoop earrings with dangling crystals. The downside to the pieces being one-of-a-kind is that there's no replacing a lost piece. A friend lost an earring I'd given her and since Gilbertina couldn't make another one because she lacked the proper materials, she made a pendant of the fabulous earring for her. Gilbertina is also helpful when making selections, respects your budget and is always grateful for any sale. She also issues gift certificates and I once successfully haggled a bit when buying three pairs at once. A Noe Valley treasure trove!
