Okie Dokie is a must-visit for anyone looking for gluten-free and vegan treats in Philly!…read more This completely gluten-free donut shop offers more than just donuts, and they rotate their selection while always having three vegan donut options available. We tried the chocolate donut with chocolate glaze and the lavender strawberry donut, and both were incredibly delicious. I honestly couldn't believe they were gluten-free! The vegan donuts I chose are more cake-style, so they're a little denser rather than light and airy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. The woman at the register was also so kind and took the time to tell me about the other vegan options they had available. They have a convenient walk-up window, although there's no indoor seating. We should've gone back for more, but next time I'm in Philly, I'm definitely stocking up!!!!

Finally made it to Okie Dokie yesterday after hearing they had gluten-free donuts…read more What I thought was: "Oh cool, a place with gluten-free donuts." What I learned was: "Oh...it's an entire gluten-free facility with sandwiches, baked goods, and bread made fresh on-site." Now back to these donuts: * Coconut Cake (top left) * Apple Fritter (top right) * Lemon Glaze (bottom) I went gluten-free in 2010, before I discovered Krispy Kreme, so I have never experienced the joy of a hot donut. Until yesterday. The Lemon Glaze is cooked to order and served warm, and I am prepared to make the bold statement that it may be the best donut I've ever had in my life. Yup, I said what I said. The Apple Fritter gave me serious coffee roll vibes, which is something I've missed terribly, so that was an unexpected win. And all three passed the ultimate gluten-free test: they didn't taste or feel gluten-free. Honestly, I'd recommend this place even if you're not gluten-free. The fact that I left talking about the donuts instead of the gluten-free part tells you everything you need to know.

Food Quality & Taste- 3.5/5 The food was good. Standouts?…read moreThe Butternut Squash Soup! The Butternut Fried Chicken Sandwich was a little spicier than I anticipated. It was also a nice portion size, particularly since it was a lunch special. -Mantra Meldoy- 3/5 -Butternut Squash Bisque- 4/5 -Butternut Fried Chicken- 3/5 Service- 4/5 The service was great! Very quick and attentive. I appreciate a server who is anticipatory. My water glass was never empty. Atmosphere- 5/5 Wilder is beautiful inside. There's an upstairs and downstairs, and each section of the restaurant gives a different vibe. There's even a small outside seating area, if the weather is nice. Value- 4/5 Some prices are a little expensive, but the lunch special pricing is a steal. Generally, I think it's a strong value and would recommend the restaurant. Opportunities for Learning- 4/5 I went during Black History Month, and they had BHM drink and food specials. It was very creative. Also, how the restaurant got its name is also kind of cool! It's inspired by Gene Wilder. There are a few things to learn here, and I definitely left a little smarter.
