We are writing to ecstatically recommend and review the Multi-Lift and Speedy Bar. Changed our…read moreworld and put us back on the road! Prior to finding Access, we were segregated to travelling with Dori and her wheelchair in our conversion van OR leaving Dori behind if we needed to transport livestock in the truck and trailer. Speedy Bar changed all that and allowed us to travel the country for alpaca shows! Speedy-Bar worked perfectly for our Ford F250 4WD and fits perfectly on the passenger door hinge. The Multi-Lift arrived engineered and configured precisely to fit the angles needed to lift Dori safety from chair to truck seat. I was concerned for Dori's safety lifting to the height of the 4WD vehicle and intimidated by the sling straps, but the team provided excellent training on sling/lift configuration. She was secure from the start, and the sling is well designed to wrap around her trunk and under her legs. The general purpose sling is padded well enough to be comfortable for her to sit in for all-day cross-country travel. Having just returned from a two-week, cross-country road trip (~5000 miles), we extensively used the Multi-Lift all day, every day across a range of temperatures and conditions (17F to 97F, snow, rain, etc) with no change in performance of the lift and battery. Tech support has also been amazing, with Tom's team being accessible for any questions or support via email, phone, or text. They kept us updated weekly as to estimated manufacturing and delivery timelines and consistently overachieved. Beyond the logistics, we end with the emotional benefit of this engineering marvel. Prior to finding Access, Dori was resigned to staying at home or close to home with only local 'needed' travel (i.e. doctor's appointments). Adding the truck as an option for her travel opened a world of new friends and new experiences traveling the country for alpaca shows that was not even an option to consider! Peace of mind. Safety. Amazing engineering. Ease of use. Tremendous customer support. Get one! It will open your world!

The Multi-Lift from Access Unlimited has quite literally given us our lives back…read more My wife is a 40-year MS survivor and cannot stand or pivot to get into a car. Without this lift, we would essentially be trapped in our home. The Multi-Lift is unique, dependable, and brilliantly designed--but what truly sets it apart is the people behind it. In my experience, most mobility products come with little to no real support. Access Unlimited is the opposite. They are responsive, professional, and genuinely committed to making sure the product works as intended. Every issue we've encountered has been handled quickly, and each interaction has led to meaningful improvements. You will not be forgotten after the sale. Access Unlimited stands behind their product--and their customers--in a way that is increasingly rare.

I really don't think this place is reputable, or at least not competent. I bought a big-ticket…read moreitem here and was told that since it was a medical device there would be no sales tax. Only after the delivery people left did I scrutinize the receipt and discover I had been charged $200 in sales tax. I called a different local medical supply place to make sure I hadn't been dreaming when thinking there would no tax on this device. They assured me there would not be. So I had to get back to Penn-York to have them refund the sales tax. "Gee, I can't imagine how you ended up being charged sales tax," my sales person eventually told me. I would guess either incompetence, or a hope that I would not question the sales tax, thinking I had misheard this, and everyone there could go out to dinner with that $200. He blamed it all on a computer glitch. I'd almost be willing to pay $200 just for the courtesy of not being yelled at when I called to point out that mistake. "I bill is wrong. I got charged more than I was supposed to..." I began. "I told you! If you paid with a credit card it would be an additional 3.5%!" my salesman yelled before I could explain the situation. "No, I was charged tax. I'm almost certain you told me that there would not be any tax because it was medical device." "There is no way you were charged tax!" "Well, I'm looking at my receipt, and there is a box labeled 'sales tax' and that box has $200 in it.'" Then there was some run around where first I'd get a refund check, then I was told they couldn't do that--the money would be refunded back to my credit card--and then it went back to sending me a check. At one point in the conversation I said something like, "Well, before you erroneously added $200 to my bill for tax..." and the lady I was talking to said, "How dare you say we did that erroneously! It was a simple error!" I had to say, "Lady, the word 'erroneously' means 'in error'." Gee, get an SAT review book and start studying some vocabulary words. Take my advice. Deal with UHS Home-care if you need to make a purchase.

This is the worst company to buy mobility equipment from! They don't respond quicky (or at all)…read moreeven for a paraplegic 8 year old child. We purchased the last chair for my grandson fall of 2021 & rec'd it Jan. '22. It was a total "lemon", parts falling off quickly and often, from every part of the chair. It was difficult to get the repairman out, although I will say to his defense, NSM had 1 guy to cover half of NYS! When a repairman did come to fix the chair, he was good and knowledgeable, but overworked. Main office avoids calls, never calling back by 4PM the same day as their recording states. If you do get a live person, they always have to "check" and call you back which mostly doesn't happen. I had to eventually speak to the manufacturer of the chair in CA who was able to replace it months later although, Sales Rep for NSM never offered that option, nor did he want to help with making that happen. New chair rec'd Dec.22. It was a very long & hard year for a kid who can't walk & relies on his chair. He missed school often and couldn't ride the bus many days as parts flew off randomly. He was often afraid when the back slipped or his brake handles flew off. Sales are priority for NSM and not customer service. The 1st wheelchair my grandson had almost 5 yrs. from another vendor with no problems except regular maintenance. They responded quickly when called. I should not have let myself be talked into NSM & will not use them in the future. This company needs to hire more repair people for all areas that they sell equipment to and focus more on the needs of the folks who buy. For most it's far more important to have their equipment working than to have a smooth talking salesman. Sad to have to write this review.
