Impossible without the Multi-lift to get us here

7 years ago, my wife fell from a cliff and became paraplegic. In the beginning, we thought this would be the end of our travels to Baja Mexico or to our California deserts because of the difficulties getting her into our lifted off-road vehicle. Then we learned about Access Unlimited... Tom and the team took the time to understand our existing vehicle, distance, and other details to configure the lift. It was an easy process and within a few weeks, our complete lift system arrived. As with anything, it took a few times to get the hang of it (no pun, ok?) but now we are experts on being able to move my wife in and out of the vehicle ANYWHERE we go. The unit is very strongly built with high quality materials and has worked flawlessly for the past 6 years. We just returned from spending a week in our local desert in a dry camp condition in our Toy Hauler. We would never be able to do this without the Multi-lift system. Thanks for the service and engineering of this product! Steve

My mom is disabled and my wife and I care for her at our home. We brought her home when she fell ill, but our home and vehicles aren't handicap accessible. She's 100% bedridden and requires my wife and I both to transfer her out of bed and into a wheelchair and also into the cars. Transferring her is very difficult even though she's tiny. Doing home and vehicle modifications are extremely expensive, and they're permanent. Even if you spend big money for a custom handcap van, which easily range $20,000+ just for the modification without the cost of the vehicle itself. What happens when the van breaks or you need a new one? Here are a few questions to ask yourself to help understand the challenge and the solutions... Q. How do you move someone out of bed, who's disabled and can't sit up under their own strength? -- No cheating, they can't help in any way. Most affordable products require the occupant to be able to sit up under their own power, or move their arms or legs to give a little help. So for those who need more help, there's no mainstream affordable solution. Q. How do you put a person into a personal vehicle that isn't an expensive, highly customized medical van? And how do you do it when they absolutely cannot help? Q. How do you travel, take a trip, or go to a hotel? -- The patient: Their quality of life goes down because they are excluded from these types of things, because there's no reasonable solution for them. -- The caregiver: Life as a caregiver slows down, because the patient can't go on trips with the family, so nobody goes anywhere. Many of lifes options go away for the person being cared for, and the caregiver, when you lose the ability to simply move. Since we've personally obtained this equipment, we've been able to include my mother on family vacations, camping trips, and simply being able to go outside more frequently without it being a huge and risky maneuver. It's hard to convey in words just how enabling and satisfying it is to be able to give the basic life necessity of movement and transportation.

He worked tirelessly with the insurance company and got it delivered in a remarkable time. He even sent to a previous customer and arranged a show and test drive of his own unit. How true this was his second unit he has one leg and after 10 years he got nervous and got his second one sold the first still in good shape. This is my 4th and probably last light years ahead of all the others. I had a issue with a controller that was due to My movement restrictions and Jack promptly sent me a different controller to get me going and said try it and see if it solves the problem if so let me know and I'll work with you. A truly remarkable unit good ground clearance and power if this was the first unit I would not possibly have needed any other units well planned for so many special needs and restrictions. I can't believe the cart the quality and most of all Jack Palmer and his family for the way they started grew and keep perfecting a great product. 5 Star rating is not enough as I said this was my fourth time around but by far the best. Only after the delivery people left did I scrutinize the receipt and discover I had been charged $200 in sales tax. I called a different local medical supply place to make sure I hadn't been dreaming when thinking there would no tax on this device. They assured me there would not be. So I had to get back to Penn-York to have them refund the sales tax. "Gee, I can't imagine how you ended up being charged sales tax," my sales person eventually told me. I would guess either incompetence, or a hope that I would not question the sales tax, thinking I had misheard this, and everyone there could go out to dinner with that $200. He blamed it all on a computer glitch. I'd almost be willing to pay $200 just for the courtesy of not being yelled at when I called to point out that mistake. "I bill is wrong. I got charged more than I was supposed to..." I began. "I told you! If you paid with a credit card it would be an additional 3.5%!" my salesman yelled before I could explain the situation. "No, I was charged tax. I'm almost certain you told me that there would not be any tax because it was medical device." "There is no way you were charged tax!" "Well, I'm looking at my receipt, and there is a box labeled 'sales tax' and that box has $200 in it.'" Then there was some run around where first I'd get a refund check, then I was told they couldn't do that--the money would be refunded back to my credit card--and then it went back to sending me a check. At one point in the conversation I said something like, "Well, before you erroneously added $200 to my bill for tax..." and the lady I was talking to said, "How dare you say we did that erroneously! It was a simple error!" I had to say, "Lady, the word 'erroneously' means 'in error'." Gee, get an SAT review book and start studying some vocabulary words. Take my advice. We purchased the last chair for my grandson fall of 2021 & rec'd it Jan. '22. It was a total "lemon", parts falling off quickly and often, from every part of the chair. It was difficult to get the repairman out, although I will say to his defense, NSM had 1 guy to cover half of NYS! When a repairman did come to fix the chair, he was good and knowledgeable, but overworked. Main office avoids calls, never calling back by 4PM the same day as their recording states. If you do get a live person, they always have to "check" and call you back which mostly doesn't happen. I had to eventually speak to the manufacturer of the chair in CA who was able to replace it months later although, Sales Rep for NSM never offered that option, nor did he want to help with making that happen. New chair rec'd Dec.22. It was a very long & hard year for a kid who can't walk & relies on his chair. He missed school often and couldn't ride the bus many days as parts flew off randomly. He was often afraid when the back slipped or his brake handles flew off. Sales are priority for NSM and not customer service. The 1st wheelchair my grandson had almost 5 yrs. from another vendor with no problems except regular maintenance. They responded quickly when called. I should not have let myself be talked into NSM & will not use them in the future. This company needs to hire more repair people for all areas that they sell equipment to and focus more on the needs of the folks who buy. For most it's far more important to have their equipment working than to have a smooth talking salesman. Sad to have to write this review.
