Palma tire is a locally owned family business. The owner goes above and beyond for his customers. Prices are fair and service is quick.

It unfortunately wouldn't let me leave zero stars that's the only reason this business is getting…read moreone. On 11/23/25, I went to Mavis for two front tires and asked if they had time to do my inspection. Shortly after, they pulled me into the garage and claimed all four brakes, rotors, and several other parts--including my battery--needed replacing. When I asked for an itemized estimate, they refused, saying they couldn't show me anything until the work was done but they would try to give me a good deal. I requested a temporary inspection sticker so I could take my car to my regular mechanic, and they told me they couldn't because they had already removed my current sticker. I later learned it's illegal to remove a valid sticker before inspection date is expired. They insisted it had expired in June but could not show it to me until they "found" it after I pushed. Even then, they refused to give it to me and hesitated to let me photograph it. They also told me I "needed" new tie rods but would charge me for a battery instead "to save money," even though a battery isn't required to pass NYS inspection and my tire rods were not serviced, nor documented on any kind of paper. In the end, I was charged nearly $2,000 for repairs I didn't want, after they created a situation where I couldn't decline the work. I felt pressured to say yes so I was able to get my car back after they refused to issue me a temporary sticker. I was given a few different reasons why and then lastly told they "misunderstood" what I was asking for when I asked for a 10 day temporary. Their actions were both unethical and illegal. I will be contacting Mavis to resolve this, but I will also be reporting the shop to the DMV.

I had my young daughters with me and he made sure that we were taken care of in a timely manner and was very kind to us all. I've been to this Mavis before with my previous car, so I was nervous about bringing my VW in, but I will absolutely be back. They did incredible work! Thank you to all the staff, but especially Keith!

The first time I went there, the place was closed because somebody was away on vacation! I thought that was a great thing because everybody needs to get away and enjoy life with your family, but the fact that the whole business was shut down due to one person was my first sign that I should've gone elsewhere. I figured it was a smaller business and I wanted to support. The next week, I went back and it was open and I signed up. The next week I went back for a car wash and I pulled up and beeped my horn (as per directions) for so long over and over that I actually thought the place was closed. After waiting a total of seven minutes with the gate up, a short man came running through the wash area to help me. It was obvious to a duck, that he was working all by himself so I said nothing. The next time I went, I called myself going first thing in the morning, straight from work in Brooklyn. When I got there, the gate was open and the man came out very quickly, but told me that I had to wait a few minutes because the machinery was not working. I showed him my subscription sticker and he asked me to wait a few minutes. I was extremely tired first of all from working two tours in Brooklyn and then the drive up to my home, but I waited and after about four additional minutes, he got the machinery to work. The last time I went there it was raining in the morning, but the rain stopped before 9:30 AM., At 11:47 AM the sun was out and I went out and decided I would stop and get a car wash before I do my errands and the gate was down!! Meaning, they weren't doing car washes. I guess they considered it inclement weather that day, even though the rain stopped hours ago, and the forecast did not call for any additional rain for the whole day. As I was driving around back to the car wash area, I saw two trucks pulling out, which should've given me a hint, but I was hopeful and went to the back anyway. The gate was down I honked the horn a couple of times, and then I backed up and left. I'm canceling my subscription. I just can't play the guessing game every time I want my car washed. I need to go somewhere where I know for a fact I can get serviced. Aside from the car wash, they have an office attached to it at the front of the place. I went there to have my car inspected for the sticker on the front window and the man and younger female at the desk when you walk in the office told me it would be hours and hours of a wait. The female went on to say I would have to leave the car there if I wanted, but the man said I could wait but it would be hours. I asked them both if there was another place in the area that I could go get an inspection done. The place across the street recommended Dolson because the place I initially went to had a machine that wasn't working. In any event, that man and woman looked me in my face and told me there was no other place in the area, meanwhile.. I went right down the road on the right hand side diagonal from Rita's to a place called Middletown Auto Repair and Service and dealt with a man named Christopher or Chris He was a doll. While I know everybody is in business to make money, I don't think it's right to be so greedy and not give an honest answer when asked if there is someplace else a person can go to especially if you are too busy to service them. My first experience with Firestone was great. And so I gave it a 4 star review. My next…read moreexperience and my wife's experience went down hill from there. Now I am forced to give them a 1 star review. First, with my experience. I took my Hyundai Accent to Firestone to flush my engine with coolant on 6/10/25. Firestone performed the service and I left satisfied. Then I took my Hyundai back on 7/24/25 because I my AC was blowing hot. Charlie told me I needed a new AC compressor, which would cost $1,744 plus the cost of $300 for Feon. I didn't order the new AC compressor. Instead, I took the Accent to the Hyundai Dealer on 8/4/2025. They stated I only needed a pressure valve screw that had came loose on the bottom. They replaced it and just charged me $758 for the Feon plus labor. When the Hyundai dealer checked the coolant, they stated that it was clear and had only water. They wanted to do a new engine flush and fill it with coolant. I said no. I already paid for coolant with Firestone. I took the car back to Charlie and he stated the dealer is lying, that Firestone put coolant in the car. He refused to even look at the car to see what I was talking about. Second, my wife took her Mercedes Benz to Firestone on 8/9/25 to replace her front & rear brakes and rotors, and install a front ABS sensor. Firestone did the work but Charlie said she had to order the sensor, which she paid for in advance. She paid a total of $1,429 for the work. As she was driving the Benz, she heard noises coming from the rear tires. She took the Benz back to Firestone on 8/28/25. Charlie told her she had to pay to have new rotors installed because the mechanic only installed break pads. Charlie wanted to charge her an additional $1,000 for the new rotors. Instead, she took the Benz to the Mercedes Benz dealer. The Benz dealer told her that old rotors were never replaced on the Benz and that Firestone used sub par brake pads. She had to have new rotors installed and the break pads that Firestone installed replaced also. My wife paid TWICE for the same work. The Benz dealer gave my wife the break pads that Firestone installed. We went back to Charlie at Firestone on 9/2/25 to get a refund for the work that Firestone did not do. Charlie gave her a credit of $419.53 for the ABS sensor that was never installed. He refused to take back the brake pads that Firestone installed. He claimed that my wife never requested rotors and when he asked to installed them, that she declined. He stated he had a video of her declining the rotors. I asked to see the video but he refused to show it to us. Then he claimed that the mechanic who worked on the car, heard my wife decline the rotors. Charlie claimed the charges are for labor only and not for the rotors. We disagreed because the invoice clearly showed that she was charged for the rotors. We called the Firestone Corporate office on 9/3/25 and spoke to customer rep Larry. Larry took our complaint and gave us a file number. He stated that he would submit the complaint, an area manager would review it, and we would get a decision by email within two business days. As of this date, 9/26/25, we have not received any communication from Firestone Corporate office regarding our complaint. We then filed a complaint with VISA and requested a refund of the $1,009 that my wife was charged for the rotors that were not installed and work that was done improperly. We are highly unsatisfied with the work that was performed on our vehicles and do not recommend Firestone for any of your auto service needs.

Told me to go somewhere else. This is after I spent $400 on maintenance, alignment and new tires. Absolutely the most rude man ever. I won't return now that they have this new management. I always went to Charlie before who was honest and kind. Wow. They hired the wrong people now.
