I will not be returning to this salon. Bin is completely unprofessional. Backstory: I had taken a hiatus from this salon because the quality of the work was getting worse. Uneven and chunky nails. Not cleaning my cuticles. Splotchy and thick gel that would peel off two days later. So I found someone else to do my manicures and I've been very satisfied with her since. Back in February, however, I had an event coming up and due to scheduling issues with my girl, I decided to come back to Palm Nails; plus there was one specific color they had that I liked and I wanted a picture so I could find it and buy it online. I go to my appointment and the entire time I'm there, Bin won't stop talking. "Mekela, it been whole year. Why you leave me? You cheat on me. Hurt my feelings!" The. Whole. Entire. Time. I was embarrassed and uncomfortable. Fast forward to today. I'm in a bridal party and this was the salon chosen. I walk in and it's the same nonsense from before. He claims I hadn't been in a whole year. It was only four months ago, so if you want to make a claim like that, get your facts straight. I ask for a gel pedicure, sit down and Bin's still going on and on asking why I left. I don't say anything about the quality because I don't want to deter other customers. He eventually comes over to my seat, trying to show me the above yelp review from nearly TWO YEARS AGO, but I show him the picture I took four months ago. I kindly ask him to drop the issue. He then puts his hands on my face and tries to pinch my cheeks like I'm a baby. I have NEVER been touched like that by anyone I'm not friends with. It was insulting and completely out of line. I told him to get his hands off me, that I would be coming back, and to stop talking to me. He, if course, tries to get me engaged in conversation but I ignored him because I was over it. I felt bad for the young man doing my pedicure (who did a good job by the way) because he was clearly trying to make the situation less awkward. But I had had it with Bin being in my face talking about an issue he was clearly misinformed about. He tries to act like your friends. He is anything but. Bin, if you're reading this, learn from your mistakes. You have no concept of personal space and you are too overbearing. If people decide they wanna go elsewhere, don't harass them about it. It happens all the time in business and if you can't handle that, then you shouldn't be running a business. I will not be returning. read more

I came back for a fill & gel pedicure after not coming in a year due to moving further away from the salon & fell in love all over again! I got a fill with Jane and my pedicure with Autumn, they're both EXCEPTIONAL! Autumn remembered me from a year ago! Considering that I was wearing dark black sunglasses and my mask, I was very impressed that she remembered me. She asked how I've been & that she hadn't seen me in a while. She also asked how my sister was doing, which is wild because I used to visit the salon with my sister. Jane is very talented! I showed her the "gradient brown" Pinterest fall inspiration picture for my acrylic nails & she did it perfectly! Despite the fact that it took a lot of time and patience to pick each color, she did it with ease. I love love loved my 1st experience at Palm Nail! The location is convenient, roomy and best of all SUPER CLEAN and smelled sanitary. The massage chairs with foot baths are pretty special and Bin and crew are really kind and accommodating to your needs. Bin is an absolute darling character! I had the ever lovely Mimi do my treatment and it certainly felt royal. She has a nice strong grip, good vision (my toes are perfect) and excellent timing! I particularly liked that they were friendly and able to get us straight in - I went with my older daughter who also really enjoyed it! And the have many appointments available future tense. Yay me. My wife went in there to get a Manny Petty, for $50 apiece. Asked me , as a male, what color of nail polish I wanted. I said I would just like to be have a buff, well, sir, that's five dollars more per foot and hands, for a total of $10. Let me start off by saying I have no idea how this place has so many good reviews. I have NEVER left crying from a nail salon before. First off the second we got in there the lady was rude from the start. I showed her an inspiration photo (because they are my wedding nails) she rushed me the whole time. Literally did 1 coat and left it like that so my nails are streaky. I asked for a little pearl gem on my ring fingers she flat out told me no. So then after all that I go to get my pedicure and the lady immediately starts making fun of my smaller toe nails. Literally doesn't stop mentioning it the whole time doing my feet. Oh my gosh Tom's work is STUNNING! So happy to have found him. I did dip powder with a tip to make it super square. He's a super sweet guy and shaped my nails perfectly. Not in love with my mani, but I did love the pedi and the place. The salon is very nice. The technicians and owners are all delightful. It's busy and everyone was happy. The massage chairs are comfortable and there is television on. It is hard to see in the photos but the design came out really fantastic and I have already had 2 compliments on the color and design. Here are the issues: I asked for squoval shaped acrylic nails so they would be more round than square, but I ended up with a set of wide very square nails. I really should have shown a photo, but he indicated he knew what I wanted. They are also really thick, so not quite natural looking. My thumbs were in pain for the first day which I don't recall ever feeling with my previous acrylic nail applications. Also surprising the technician never gave me an option to wash my hands, so there was a lot of dusty goop under my nails and stuck to the skin that I picked at while I sat for the pedi. I asked the sweet lady who did my toes if I could wash my hands before I leaving as they do have sinks. The cost is typical I think at $50 for the gel polished acrylic nails and $25 for the basic pedicure. I think it's worth trying again with a different nail artist. read more

Well I have come to the conclusion after visiting this salon that the reviews are more for Bihn's personality and less for the actual services. I want to be honest and I have waited over TWO months now for them to get in touch and make things right. Firstly, I chose this salon BECAUSE of the reviews here on Yelp! This is why it is so very important that we are honest in our reviews. I wish there had been more honest and discerning reviews before I went here. So here is my critique & why w/ 5 stars meaning it was top notch: 1. Cleanliness: 3 stars ( will explain exactly why in a moment) 2. Manicure: 2 stars 3. Pedicure: 2 stars 4. Friendliness: Bihn: 5 stars; Everyone else including my Technician 2 stars 5. Sterilization: 1 star 6. Organization: 1 star 7. Prices: 3 stars Came here in December for a mani-pedi and I was paired with a young guy even though I had asked for Bihn in my initial contact. I thought okay I will give it a shot. Bihn was very friendly & asked if I wanted water but then most of the salons give you this. My tech never spoke. In fact he acted like he would like to be anywhere but there. Water into tub for feet. I had a deluxe (callous removing) pedi however my feet were NOT any better than before I went. Hardly removed anything. He was supposed to cut my toenails & when he did the right foot big toe nail was 1/4 inch longer than the left foot. Some nails long & others too short! Definitely needs to be trained. Polish was just okay. So after pedi he has me move to mani table & drops the nail shade ring on top of my foot and it damages the pedi! Those are not light either. Doesn't say a word! Doesn't check pedi at all! Puts my hand in cold water & I ask, aren't you going to file my nails first? Looks at me and starts filing. So time for cuticles & he pulls a cuticle cutter out of DRAWER, not sterile nor does he  get a new set of tools & there are pieces of someone else's cuticle stuck on cuticle cutter! I ask about sterilizing & I get "don't worry"! Huh? Then I get moved to front next to Bihn at drying station. I am upset. Pedi is awful. Mani just okay as missed edges next to skin. Bihn asks "What is wrong?" I show him pedi, length of nails etc... he says he will fix. Comes over & cuts big toenail & other nails but LEAVES edge where he cut! We all know what it looks like when a nail is cut just after a pedi! Takes extra polish & just polishes over smudge! This was dark blue polish! Looks awful. Then when I go to pay they have no change and they are scrambling, talking angrily in Vietnamese to one another! I said hey, I am going. So this rude guy who did my nails received a $15.00 tip because of their disorganization & lack of change! I called a day later to talk to Bihn & he would NOT give me my money back! Says He will give another mani-pedi on the house. I told him I wasn't sure of that because of the tools being used etc... Dead silence! No answer from him! While I was there a party of 4 came in for their appts., & they were told someone forget to put their appt. down so they would have to come back later that day! NO organization, NO sterilization that I could see. The bathroom here is NOT clean. Old dusty piece of furniture in there w/ no knobs etc...so those saying it is very clean are mistaken. Quick wipe out of Pedi basin between Pedis! NOT okay and pushing people in and out of there like cattle! Wasn't relaxing AT ALL. Bihn has his favorites & is very friendly but the services are lacking. Waited two months and NO call from Bihn (left message for him to call me) or Palm nails wanting me as a returning client. Not that I want to after a mediocre mani/pedi! Shame on them. REFUND plz! read more

This is my new nail salon. I live in LA, but found this salon on Yelp when I was visiting the area. The owners, Jen and her husband Bin were great. The salon is new and nicely decorated. The prices were fair and similar to what I've seen in the area, but what sets this place apart from all the others is the amazing customer service. Jen and Bin are so friendly and inviting. They truly want their customers to be happy with their service. They don't do the rushed, over priced manicure and pedicure a lot of other high priced salons are known for. I got what I paid for and more. Jen completed a French gel polish manicure for me, which is no easy task because I'm so picky about my nails. I was impressed that removing the gel polish from my nails was fast and easy. She filed my nails exactly the way I like and my polish was perfect. Bin completed my pedicure and I didn't have to wait for him to finish up with someone else first. I hate when I schedule an appointment and I end up waiting in the middle of my appointment because the salon overbooked and can't finish my appointment because they are working on someone else. That didn't happen here. Once you get your nails done here you won't go anywhere else again. read more

So disappointed with my visit today. Mind you I've been here before and last visit I was not satisfied with my dip so I went in the next day to get them fixed. Thought to give them a second chance which i now totally regret. I don't mind waiting as long as when it is finally my turn they take their time and give quality service, mind you I had an appt. My nails were not given any shape, showed a picture and the one nail I wanted different than the others was not even a tad similar. My toes I paid for the deluxe, again was rushed because other were waiting in pedicure chair next to me. Didn't get what I paid for, as well as pointed out to the lady giving my pedicure that I get terrible ingrowns and are still in pain. $105 wasted, don't mind paying as long as I get what I'm paying for. So happy to be able to get a pedicure and my nails done again! Everything is very sanitized and clean. You have to wear a mask, they ask you to wash hands before your nail services, and sign a waiver. They do have plexiglass in between you and the nail artist. Overall I felt very safe and clean. Jane as always does a fabulous job on my nails and autumn is the sweetest and gives really good pedicures! She was even so gentle on my left leg due to a knee surgery I had a couple weeks ago.
