Total rip off scam! Find a salon (like I did) that you can buy packages as this monthly fee is a total scam trap that the BBB should investigate. Like others on this page, I was told I could not cancel over the phone (WTF not????), so I went in and canceled, signed a few docs, was offered this and that instead but I said no. Fast forward to nearly 2 months later - some girl calls me and says my credit card is not going through (a tactic I'm sure they use all the time). I told them I cancelled which they responded that I had only frozen my account and this could no longer stay frozen, a $7 fee, something ridiculous like that. I was having NONE OF IT. I told her, NO NO NO, I cancelled and you know it! I'm not playing any of your games. She had said that I needed to come back in to cancel again, and I said no. My credit card wasn't working and had not been charged anything because I had completely and totally cancelled, she was just trying to get more money, retain me, whatever. I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so ridiculous it deserves to be called out. I was charged $100 for ONE visit to use the lowest level membership... literally THREE TIMES what the monthly rate should be. Let that sink in. A single tan cost more than what THREE entire months is supposed to cost. When I brought this up, instead of any attempt to fix what is clearly an unreasonable charge, the manager, Kaylee, was completely unhelpful and dismissive. No accountability, no effort to resolve it, just an incredibly unprofessional and dismissive attitude. It's wild, because I would have happily stayed a loyal member here for months, but after this, absolutely not. And it somehow gets worse. The front desk staff actually said, "$100 is not that much money." That level of tone-deafness is unreal. $100 for ONE basic service is excessive, period. Most people would not casually brush that off, and acting like it's insignificant just shows how disconnected they are from the customers they're supposed to serve. Given how absurd this charge is, and the complete lack of help or accountability from management, I will be disputing this with my bank. Which is absolutely absurd this salon refused to assist with. This place clearly has no issue overcharging and then dismissing customers when they question it. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values transparency, fairness, and basic respect. Warning: Do not go to this tanning salon unless you're prepared to be stuck in a membership you can't easily cancel. I brought my daughter in for a one-time spray tan for prom. The front desk staff convinced me that signing up for their membership would be cheaper and said we could cancel anytime. it's now months later and I'm still trying to cancel. However they make you go back in to cancel so they can convince you to stay. They won't let you cancel over the phone. They won't send an email form so there's a paper trail. They make the process extremely difficult on purpose. On top of that, my daughter hated the tan. She came out orange -- so I'm still paying for a one time tan!!! This tanning salon has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a business. If you look through the reviews, so many of them talk about how difficult it is to cancel the membership and that the staff cannot provide any receipts. I started my membership here in July 2025 and have only used their services one time. I had been paying over a hundred dollars a month for my membership since then. I went into their establishment in November to use their services and they told me I could not because I had a red card balance. When I asked for an invoice, the receptionist didn't have access to one. She handed me a sticky note with a customer care number and the open balance amount. Mind you, when you call the customer care number provided, it is voice mail only. I have yet to receive a call back. I went to my bank to find out what months I was missing in my ledger, and the bank teller was even confused. She couldn't find any missing payments. I left another voicemail last month, still no word. Do NOT do business with Palm Beach Tan. This place is a total SCAM. read more

I came in specifically looking for a bed with red light therapy and they were able to accommodate me with their newest bed. After checking out, the lady working up front gave me no receipt or paper saying what I purchased, and when I asked, she said my father could "come in anytime and just tell us his name." Just want to start off with how amazing Dani and all the staff are! always so welcoming and helpful every time I step through those doors. I came from a smaller tanning salon so I was a tad timid and slightly nervous but the staff helped me feel super comfortable and after my second visit I was feeling at ease. Firstly, I want to say that the staff is always helpful and friendly. This review has little to do with the staff or the cleanliness of the building (which always looks nice) and more to do with management. When I started coming to Palm Beach tan around 2010 I absolutely loved the place and the company. Their beds were absolutely the best for the price and the convenience of having multiple locations was a plus. Not to mention their hours were great! Now fast forward to 2023 and I really feel like they don't value the loyalty of their older customers. The seem to constantly be trying to phase us out. I understand that Covid was rough for everyone and they can get new clients who will pay more than those who are grandfathered in, but there should be something to be said for loyalty. Originally, my Gold membership was considered one of the top memberships. Eventually, however, this company decided to put in an even higher membership and push all the others down, moving beds that I previously had access to, to higher memberships. Thus I became a "Silver" member or a "middle of the road" member. Next they decided to take away benefits from my plan to introduce their new "Diamond Plan". And with the new Diamond beds, my access was again limited to what was formally known as "bronze" beds (the worst of the beds). Then this past month, I went to this location to use a bed that I still enjoyed in my "Silver" membership only to be told that it was converted into a "gold bed" because it was "too warm" to be considered Silver. Once again, this company is taking away perks of membership from its older members to try and phase us out. Its highly disappointing, as I was once very loyal to this company. And even if I did upgrade to one of their "higher" levels, I now worry that they will continue to follow the same path and screw over their members in the long run. Very discouraging. read more

!!!!!!WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! I have never once complained about a business online but this has to be the worst experience I've ever had. I've been a longtime customer of Palm Beach Tan. I feel like I've witnessed a gradual decline in the employees, and the product. The medium tan makes you orange! Like bright orange for days. But ohhhh wait for an additional fee you can buy a toner that makes you NOT orange, how convenient is that? (I understand they're running a business but it just comes across as sleazy). I had a monthly membership for around 4 years, that retailed at $30 a month, if I can remember correctly the toners that you have to get to make the tan look even decent cost around $15, half the time I didn't use my monthly spray tan (which don't roll over I think it's a little ridiculous but I understand it's their policy). It got to the point where I didn't feel I was using it at all and decided I wanted to cancel. I called the location and asked to end my membership. They said they were very busy at the moment and they would give me a call later to cancel. I understood and waited for a call back that never came. I forgot and my membership was renewed. A little frustrated I called back and asked again to cancel my membership and again I was met with. We're very busy. We'll call you later. Sigh. I knew at this point I would have to just do it in person. When I made it in, I decided I'll use my last monthly spray tan and cancel so that I won't be renewed for next month. This is when the problems really began. When I entered The building the two girls working behind the counter didn't acknowledge or welcome me in, they were in conversation with each other, while I stood waiting at the counter to be helped. Nothing they were talking about was work related so I didn't understand why they couldn't quickly help me and get back to talking, the place was empty. When they did acknowledge me, they had the rudest meanest attitudes, like I had offended them for coming in and making them do their job. When they're finally ready to set me up in a room. Then one of the girls says to the other girl "Is that room even clean?" to which the other girl replies "let me check." Without stepping 1 foot inside, she scans the room and says it's ready. The other girl sets up the booth and I go inside. Well, not only was the room not clean at all, but they had neglected to refill anything that was included with the spray tan. No hairnet, no wipes, nothing. Which was incredibly annoying since I already had to deal with the attitude, and get undressed just to find nothing I need is inside. I finish my tan and leave, always trying to be friendly I say thank you to the girls on the way out as to which, of course, they ignore me. Did NOT want to ask about canceling my membership since doing any work whatsoever seemed to be pissing them off. The whole experience left an incredibly sour taste in my mouth. I reached out to their customer service contact online to let them know about my experience. Got an email saying I would hear back from them within the week and obviously didn't hear from them for a month. My membership was renewed again. So I emailed them AGAIN. Finally, I hear back. They will cancel my membership and give me a call to discuss my experiences. In the email, they asked if I was free on a certain day to call. I said yes, purposefully keeping that time open for them. Not only did they not call, but I didn't hear from them for weeks. So I sent another email. They said we're so sorry. We'll call you today, well, sorry Palm Beach corporate but I have a life. I cannot sit around waiting to hear from you. They give me a call while I was at work. I immediately knew it was them so I run to take the call but don't make it in time, they leave a voicemail. I called them back not even a minute later, nothing. I tried like 10 more times throughout the week, nothing. I sent emails. They wouldn't reply. I felt crazy. I still do! What they're running is a "business" I'm not sure if they know that tho, don't waste your time. read more

I have been coming to this tanning salon for over 10 years, even before it became Palm Beach Tan! I have a sunless membership which allows you to spay at all of their Palm Beach Tan locations across the country. I have utilized this and it's very easy to use, even in other states! They have some really sweet employees who work at this location! Ella is extremely sweet and personable! She interacts with all of the customers in such a positive way and is very knowledgeable! Danielle is very efficient and knowledgeable as well! Be prepared they get extremely busy before they close, so plan ahead! What a fraud!! After speaking in detail to the Jamboree Palm Beach Tan to confirm the details of the their 5$ membership special I came in to sign up at my local Orange salon. What I experienced was downright disgusting and fraudulent. Roxanne, and later (when Roxanne called for support) "Jade" kept saying that the website was wrong and that special was actually only 5$ off the first month- not a 5$ membership for the one month; like the coupon says. I pushed back, and my husband showed them exactly what their website clearly stated. I asked to speak to "Jade" the manager, myself and Roxanne said I had to call her since she couldn't pass me their phone. "Jade" attempted to double down and confirm the false advertisement, After explaining that the day prior I actually spoke with someone at Jamboree location who confirmed that it was in fact 5$ for the first month her position changed and she said "there might be something wrong with the system". As a mother of a lawyer, I was/Am willing to take this all the way to the media along with, reporting them to the BBB for false advertisement, and if needed, file a class action lawsuit because I'm sure I'm not the first person that has been scammed by this place. I asked "Jade" how she could help and asked if she would call the location that I was at, again , to help Roxanne figure out the error. She agreed. I informed Roxanne that she'd be calling and I'd wait. "Jade" didn't even have a chance to call Roxanne, although , I did however notice some emailing going on (which I'm assuming was between Jade and Roxanne)...I can't help but to think this because all of a sudden, wouldn't you know it, Roxanne suddenly "figured it out" without "Jade's" support; and was able to confirm that I was correct and it would only be 5$ for the first month. If that wasn't enough, every single lotion that I attempted to buy was quite literally 3xs the amount on the lotions website. I am going to cancel the membership in 2 weeks, because I wouldn't dare give this place a penny more of my money. Of course, while I was leaving I wanted to confirm their process for cancellation. I specifically said,,just to be clear, I have to "bring in a written cancellation and receive a confirmation that the cancellation was received " . Of course she replied " oh no we don't do it like that anymore you can just tell us". I said absolutely not. Your contract says that i must give something in writing and I will be requiring something confirming the cancellation at that time. Lastly, while my husband was waiting he said that he witnessed someone else come in and ask about memberships. He noted Palm Beach Tan did not mention any discounts to the potential customer, at all. Wow! Just wow. This may be the most obvious blatant fraudulent behavior that I have ever experienced at a business. Rest assured when I do cancel, if I experience any issues with being charged any fees, any additional months, any thing at all when I cancel, I will pursue every single person on yelp who has posted about their fraudulent experiences and will make it a mission to find out everyone that has been defrauded or been a victim of your staffs double speak, and I will explore a class action lawsuit. I am absolutely exhausted after my experience. Shame on you Palm Beach Tan of Orange. This is not the Palm Beach Tan that I first went to many many many years ago; albeit in another city, You do not have to lie, train your staff to lie, or be deceptive to make money. Today I came in June 1st 2024, and they decided that they raised their fees and doubled the amount that I have been paying. They never gave me ANY type of notice, or heads up. I came in on Saturday morning because I was interested in getting a spray tan for an upcoming wedding, I have never gotten a tan before and wasn't sure it would be for me, so I just wanted to check it out. Eden was very helpful in explaining the different memberships and what to expect, and even gave me a tour of the Salon. So I did but did not use it as much as I n deed to get the value out of it. So, I called to cancel it but they do not allow this over the phone or email. So I went in person to cancel. I was told that I should've come in the day before so now would be charged for another full month. Two months goes by and I am heading to Hawaii and needed to tan first. I revisited and was told that it would be $50 for their lower level bed and that I should've just suspended my account until I was ready to use it again to avoid the higher prices. I was never given that option when I was there in person to cancel. I left without getting any service. The gal at the front desk couldn't have been more obtuse. Apparently, I had a membership back when Covid hit and so they told me that I owed $75 for three months but there is no contract. Everything was shut down, so how are they charging me for tans when they were literally closed? That should've been put on pause. So when I came back, they said they would waive that fee, but I had to do the membership. If I didn't do the membership, they refused to change that and I would have to pay $150 to get one tan. So I am use to a palm beach salon in a different state, Alabama to be exact, I assumed California (Orange County) salon would top Alabama. Well let's say the staff in Orange County was slow, literally 4 of us stood in the kiddy waiting for a while before anyone came out to greet us. Then the girl had no clue about the beds. She gave me room 7, well this was suppose to be a level 2! This bed is clearly a level 1, the bulbs don't get warm and you literally don't tan in the stand up bed. When I came out to ask the girl about the bed she told me they don't have a room 7 (i literally feel like her head was in space!) I told her yes I just came out and the bed did not even get warm, it was like standing with regular halogen lights on you. She then told me only 1/2 the bulbs have been replaced! Then she said it's was to make your experience more comfortable. Well I was just blown away by the response, when you pay for a service you expect results! If you want a tan, this is not the place to go! I am just so disappointed and I cannot believe a tanning salon is Alabama would literally be 1000% better then a salon in Orange County California.
