Despite the poor reviews in times past, I thought I would check out their infrared, sauna, spa options they now offer. When I asked about their services, the woman at the desk, who was very unfriendly and seemed to be having a miserable day, handed me over to a young lady that was the exact opposite. She showed me around the salon, telling me about each of the services and was a delight. But when I asked about details of the red light therapy, the sauna, chromatherapy...she did not have any answers. Out of curiosity, I asked about the chemicals used for their spray tans...she did not know. I asked about the differences in some of their tanning beds, to which she did not know. But she was doing her best...just not trained well or able to answer important questions. When we returned to the desk, I learned about the $29 signing up fee regardless of any service...and then more about their fees. The dark haired woman that I first encountered, was very abrasive to the point of being rude when I asked her questions that the young blonde woman couldn't answer. Because of the way I was treated and the inability to get details about the services that could affect my health, I left...and will not return. Absolutely TERRIBLE experience!!!!!!! The two girls working were so rude to me. I walked in at 8:46 being SO apologetic and trying to be so fast, knowing they close at 9. The girl who walked up to greet me sighed and asked me what I was there for. I told her it was my first time getting a spray tan and she rolled her eyes, sighed, and threw her head back. I think she was upset that she had to put me in the system, but that took less than a minute - all she had to do was ask me my name and my email. Then, she walked back to get her friend. I could hear them complaining about me. She and her friend both came to me and told me they couldn't do my spray tan. I asked for the other girl's name and she turned around and walked away. They couldn't have been ruder. That was my first and LAST time at Palm Beach. Super disappointed! read more

Poor management. Very rude, more than once. Actually every time I went in, just with her unfriendly demeanor. Snide remarks, like she thought she was better than me and never ever a smile, how are you ect.. After the 3rd time, I didn't go back. Thank goodness all the rest of the other salons in town are very friendly. The other long brown haired, newer young lady went above and beyond with kindness and was very helpful. I paid for a package in July then at the end of August I was told I needed to pay $10 more for each time I got a spray tan. I reached out to the manager who never phoned back. I called corporate and never heard back. Generally, when I go in I have to wait for someone to clean the room. There is always an extra girl who is sitting in a room on her phone. The phone girl always remembers to tell me to have a good day on my way out. Just ridiculous that this is what customer service looks like. Also, each time I go in to the room I have to request for a hair net, towel, and balm. I have actually never written a review but maybe this will help improve the customers' experience. read more

10/7/22 UPDATE: I have followed the instructions Penelope left for me. I have not heard anything back. I really hate writing this, but maybe it will keep someone from wasting their time coming here. If you want to use a local PBT, I recommend the one off of Byhalia Rd in Collierville. They are pleasant and always clean. I only use the Germantown location when I'm pressed for time and absolutely have to. None of my experiences have been good (tanning beds don't work to their full ability, waiting for someone to check me in, lack of supplies in room, etc). But today I was pressed for time and chose to come here. I pay an insane amount for a monthly membership. Having said that, I should not have to encounter any of the following: 1. When I arrive at 6:27 for a 10 min tan and a 10 min spray tan (if that), I shouldn't hear the employee complain loudly in the room next to me to someone on the phone. And I quote "I am so sick of this. These people think they can just come in here when we are about to close in 30 min..." she went on and on. 2. The floors were disgusting in the tanning booth room. I took my shoes off as would be expected, and stuff was sticking to my feet. 3. I come out of the tanning bed room, and the employee mumbles something about following her. Thankfully I'm a fast walker and could keep up! She begrudgingly marched down that hallway like a child being sent to their room for timeout. 4. I close the door to the spray tan room. No hair nets. No towel. Nothing. I'm used to this location not having stuff in the room like the nose plugs and lip moisturizer. I go back out to get a hair net to find the employee in the Versa Spa room loudly complaining AGAIN to someone on the phone!!! She was saying the same thing - complaining about me and other customers that came in. I asked for a hair net. She proceeded to hand me one AND a stack of more hair nets to replenish the supply in the room. You can't make this stuff up. For the record, I was out of there by 6:56. That includes me having to get my supplies and using the restroom before I left. Oh, and Penelope, I'll be sending this in an email to the email address you keep giving everyone else who leaves a bad review. So no need to comment back the same thing and not doing anything to fix these issues. I really hope someone actually listens to these reviews and makes some changes. And to the employee... I'm sorry you hate your job. You are the only one I've seen working at that location whereas the Collierville one has 5-6 people every time. I'm sure it is frustrating!! But please, in the future, don't complain where your customers can hear you. Do your job the best you can. You're only one person. beds are dirty even though they say they are cleaned. I've been cleaning them myself with a disinfectant wipe and they are dirty. Customer service doesn't care and when finally getting through was told they are sorry and will talk to staff about it. Then you go back in a few days and beds are still dirty. All they want to do is sell memberships and overpriced tanning products. Find another place to tan. read more

I have always gone to this palm beach tan because I just live close to it. (I recommend the Collierville Palm Beach tan) Anyway, today I went around 6:25 pm, for a cocktail I have started doing. First, I walk in there and this girl signing me in has a TOTAL attitude with me for no reason! I tell her I want the spray I have been getting the past 2 times I have gotten one WITH 2 BRONZERS!!! She said, "let me go clean it," and as she walks away she said, "no but does she know how to shut the f*** up." Me not knowing if she is talking to me or the other employees. She comes back in 10 seconds and grabs just the light bottle, no bronzers, no towel nothing. I go into the spray booth and there is no hair net, the towel is on the ground, no nose plugs, NOTHING!!! I went to asked for a hair net and she said she didn't have any. I HAD TO GET ONE OUT OF THE TRASH TO PROTECT MY HAIR!!!! Me not knowing she didn't put the bronzers in there I get out and I literally came out the same color as I went in. I'm so disgusted! I have a spray tan package and I enjoy it. Most of the time each room has goggles, eye wear, nose protection, and lib balm. However, this is not always available, but it is a nice perk when it is. I like Palm Beach Tan and the staff is always nice. They are really pushy with products though. Just know if you go here, 98.99% of the time they are going to aggressively try to sell you additional products. It is not the workers fault; I am sure the company makes them. read more

Ashley was amazing! I had never gotten a spray tan before and she was so helpful. It turned out beautifully and natural and I still look great 3 days later. She offered me a discount if I bought three then, and I didn't because I was afraid I wouldn't like it. Now I wish I had! Everyone in the store was very friendly. Update: now over one week later, my tan has faded naturally and beautifully. I got a little splotchy around day 7 near my ankles/feet and face, but I was dealing with a bit of sunburn and it was really not noticeable. I started exfoliating that day and now it's day 9 and I've faded into my natural tan. I wen for light last time, but for the summer I think I'll go with medium. I will DEFINITELY be back. I never thought I'd like a fake tan, and I'm really not the type to be concerned with looks, but I loved it. read more

I wanted to get a spray tan and I got an entire sales pitch , she talked really fast and I didn't understand half of what she said. I ended up spending over 60$ on a spray tan package I wouldn't even use very much. Fast forward to the next month I went in to use my package and was told I needed to spend more money on top of what I had been paying for the package.She said it was for the additional additives that I had when I purchased it. I was Never told in the beginning, I was under the impression that what I was paying for monthly was what I received the first time. So in other words I was paying for the basic spray tan which I have no idea how it looks on me. The girl was rude and said after I said no I am not paying anything else , she then replied, The tan will look Nothing like what you got the first time,also the first time the girl didn't told me to put slippers on in which I came out with a V shape on my feet.. Staff is friendly, however PBT acquired Tan N Go literally overnight w/ no fair warning. PBT didn't seem to have the forethought to accommodate for twice the customer volume when making this sudden decision. There is now a constant long wait for a bed every time I go. Easy and convenient spray tan. Coupons and referral gifts all the time! Super friendly and helpful staff especially Lacy and Ashley. I was told when Tan N Go closed that all of my information would transfer over to Palm Beach with my same package and price. However, that has not been the case at all. The only thing they showed of me was when I was a member there in 2007. I told them my brothers account had no problems transferring, why is mine not there? They could give no explanation. Now I'm stuck paying 60 dollars a month WITHOUT spray tan included in the package like it was at tan n go. I left this place the first time for this very reason, they overcharge. I have had a PBT membership off and on for several years. I actually worked here during college. Even though I have a monthly membership I typically only come once a week. I come just enough to keep some color year round. The store is always clean and the beds are nice. However, EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I come to tan they question me about what lotion I use, etc. and try to persuade me to buy more lotion. I understand that it's better to tan with lotion and I do! But then if you show them your lotion they try to push a facial, then if that doesn't work they try to convince you that REALLY need to switch between TWO lotions. Or an enhancer. Or a bronzer. Or an intensifier. I understand that corporate pushes those sales and they do get commission off them. But damn. Every time I go in there I don't need to be bombarded with 20 minute sales pitches. It's excessive and annoying. It makes me want to cancel my membership and go somewhere else. Maybe they should keep track under your account when someone pitches you so that it's not happening every time. read more
