I went in for a spray tan and had a terrible experience. The wet towel from the prior customer was left on the floor outside the booth. Entered the tanning booth and the green light was not on. Had to get dressed and find the tech so she could figure out the problem. She finally got the light to work, but when the spray started I thought something was wrong. Could only feel air spraying. There was no mist from the tanning product. Should have gotten dressed again and found the tech, but by this time I was very frustrated and just left. Needless to say no tan for my trip tomorrow!!! Also noticed that the floor around the booth was stained with water marks. Not the cleanest place either. Needs some TLC. read more

nice place, good tan , clean and friendly people but watch out because you can only tan every 24hrs so since I tanned last night at 8:17 I can't tan today since they close at 8pm. Really? I pay monthly and this seems a bit ridiculous. I drive all the way over to be refused bc of this rule That I didn't know about. So irritated. read more

Clean rooms, beds, and store. Friendly staff and not sure why some have negative reviews (about the staff). The only 1 negative (if even a negative) is the built in radio is less than ideal. But hey, that's what headphone are for! read more

Manager actually said to me after i asked her about the difference in the spray tanners.."youre expecting right?" Me; what!? I never said this and yes i am a chunky girl but any adult knows you dont ask a woman that let alone be so sure to say it that way! Prior to that she kept asking me the color of my dress after i justtold her i was doing this for my vacation. All that aside after i was sprayed it was pretty good of a tanner...at first. Followed all directions, waited 24hrs to shower etc. I wore crew socks..the tan rubbed off. My tan was messed up in various places 2 days after getting sprayed. All i can say is im glad this was a free trial. read more

I was in the area today and stopped in for my weekly dose of sunshine. Katie greeted me warmly and asked what I wanted to do today. Once I asked what beds they had at my level and mentioned I had never been to this store she even took me on a tour! You seriously don't get this level of customer service at any other tanning salon (chain or not)! I love PBT and this one is no exception. Great selection of beds (I dome, Ibed and KBL? yes please!), friendly staff and the store is kept impeccably clean; which is the brand standard I have come to expect from PBT over the years. 5 happy stars well deserved. read more

My melanin has needed a little help since I started working in an office. I really like this location, the staff are all really friendly and have a lot of tips and tricks to get a long lasting natural looking spray tan. The rooms are always really clean. They provide goggles, nose plugs, and chapstick which is awesome as many places don't even have protection for sale. Also since you can't have deodorant on when you get the spray tan, they have spray deodorant you can use after. It makes tanning super convenient. I usually use Mystic, because it has a more yellow undertone to it which suits me better. The Versa is nice, but usually leaves me a little too red/peachy. The only thing I wish they would do is dry off the floor in the spray tan booth after the clean cycle. When it's still wet, the metal plates you stand on get super slippery. Falling and knocking yourself out while nude in a spray tan booth would not be a good look. I've mentioned this before, I'm hoping this review will get them to consider adding drying the floors to their booth cleaning procedures. read more

I've been spray tanning for years and never have I spent $69 on a machine spray tan. For that price, I may as well pay someone to spray me. I realize I was up sold a bunch but it did not feel like I could say no. It just happened so fast and literally all I wanted was a basic dark tan. read more

Been going here 3-4 years. Nice staff, very friendly. Manager is extremely helpful. Platinum, Diamond, and Gold level beds/stand ups are high end and the bulbs are changed regularly which proves how consistent each tanning session is. I've been going here on and off for almost 4 years and not once did I have to point out a bulb burning out. Huge plus with consistency and attentiveness. If you're on a budget, you can do more research but this is the only place I know of in Frederick to get a bronze tan. For $20, Planet Fitness has a black card membership, but the stand-up booths are nothing but basic units most likely purchased from anti-tanning activists. Joking set aside if you want a deep golden summer tan or just a little winter color, this store is for you. Between the customer service, walking into a very clean and attractive store inside and out, respect and courtesy to customers, and variety of options - it's worth a little extra to tan ...the right way. read more

The actual site and workers at this location are AWESOME. However, I have been trying to get a hold of corporate since June 2nd and I have not heard back from them. I have left voicemails and I have gone through electronically through their site. If this is how the corporate office is going to treat their customers I will not ever be giving my business again and will be spreading the word! read more

You need to add a minus star to your rating selections. I've read some of the other reviews it appears if you are young or male they treat you well I don't have the same experience. If they aren't rude, they are as dumb as dirt. Not nice, not customer friendly and one of them is a tan nazi. The bed I've been using every since this store opened is now being doled out by shaving off minutes. They changed the bulbs 4 weeks ago and I'm still not up to the full time. I should also note I've been tanning every week since March---I have color. Isn't the issue the strength of the bulbs not what my skin will take at this point! Am I the only one using the bed! Maybe so in the near future if they keep running off their established customers. I should also note I don't have this issue with any other PBT that I have visited. read more

Over priced, the staff does not take no for an answer, pushy on products and long commitment tanning packages that don't even equal out to a discount at all! Very turned off by this and to cancel the membership was a pain. Don't do it! Hawaiian tan is #1 friendly service , clean and not out to screw you over! read more

I've been around the block when it comes to tanning salons. Palm Beach has some great promos online that are accepted. I will say that the staff seems to be very pushy and condescending when it comes to buying tans. I recently visited and asked if I could buy one single tan because I was moving within the same week. They said it would be cheaper to buy more tans so they naturally didn't explain a thing and just continued to give me some figure that they seemed to pull out of thin air. I believe that there is a set price for things with them but it would nice for the staff to explain the charges they are taking out instead of saying "oh this is cheaper" and giving me a price without reasoning. Happened again at my last visit. I had one tan left on my account and the girl working told me it would be cheaper for my to buy lotion with my FREE tan. Which I already had lotion in my bag. Charged me $10.50 for a lotion packet that I didn't even need. I didn't even get an extra tan with the charge either. Besides all the pushiness the place seems to be pretty clean, beds work well. Just need to work on its staff and the process of explaining what people are paying for. read more

I use to go to the Arbutus location and found that I did not like the manager (very rude & unprofessional). I'm transitioning to move to Frederick and just went to the location on Spectrum Dr. The staff informed me about an upgrade that I've had for the month of May and that it ended on 6/11/17. To my knowledge no one had ever told me about it(Arbutus staff) so the manager of the Spectrum location extended my upgrade for me. She was super nice and professional. The staff were really nice and the store were clean. Definitely making that my new location. read more

Pros: the salon is always clean and the equipment is relatively top of the line Cons: Monthly deals are a nightmare.... especially if you want to cancel your membership. I was suckered into purchasing a monthly plan for the spray tanning service. After a year I realized that I wasn't getting into the store each month so I was simply throwing that $40 out the window - guess what, you can't roll that over into another month and you do NOT get "credit". I called the store and the girl was able to cancel my membership over the phone... or so I thought. A few months later I was balancing my check book (don't judge me) and realized that I was getting charged $7.50 per month by the salon! When I called the girl told me that you can't cancel a membership over the phone you have to come and do that in person, what the previous person did was put a hold on my account - which evidently costs $7.50 per month (what??). I was furious about this because that is NOT what the previous person told me was happening, she definitely said she was able to cancel the membership. It was explained to me that the girl who "cancelled" my membership had been fired, as if that fixed my issue. On September 13 I went into the salon to formally cancel my membership, grateful to have rid myself of it when lo and behold, I see on my banking statement that I was charged AGAIN $7.50 on October 2. When I called the salon the girl was not able to help me and indicated that I needed to call back around noon when her boss would be in. Overall, my experience with this salon has not been great based upon this monthly membership debacle. If I was just going in for a one-off tanning session my overall opinion of this place might be better but for the inconvenience and aggravation this membership has caused me I don't know if I would go back again. UPDATE: the salon manager contacted me and profusely apologized for the error. They have since credited the October charge back to my account and offered a free spray tan due to the inconvenience. This manager was incredibly nice and went out of her way to make things right. I am overly pleased with this mainly because it is such a nice salon and conveniently located so I hated to stop going there out of principle! read more

I just want to say my other half an I came in last saturday am. The place was packed with only one person working. She was running around like she was on a mission..but the best part was she continually had a smile on her face and was very apologetic about the wait. She deserves a Gold Star. Excellent customer service while being bombarded with customers who were all not as patient as we were..cant remember her name but she was a young tall dark haired girl with a smile on her underlying stressed face.
