Mother of the groom- my makeup showed every wrinkle possible and caked into fine lines! I looked 10 years older! I get it, I'm aging but my own makeup doesn't settle like this. My pictures look horrible! read more

I had my first ever spray tan with Felicia and I cannot recommend her/JKW enough! She made it so easy and very clearly explained the before and after care that helped my tan last and look great for my event! She also created the perfect formula for me. (I am naturally very pale). I was nervous to get one and now I'll definitely get them more! read more

I went to JKW for the first time yesterday and it was amazing! I got a spray tan with Megan to even out. She matched my color perfectly and got me even from head to toe. They have lots of convenient appointment times throughout the day, they were super nice and responsive and since it was only my second time getting spray tanned she gave me wonderful recommendations for maintaining it. The type of airbrushing I got takes 8 hours to set which was perfect! Spray tanning is a great way to avoid UV damage and I would highly recommend coming here for this service. I will definitely be checking them out for other things like hair and makeup on the future :) read more

The MUAs are nice but customer service is the worst. You should be careful when booking and signing contract with them. I HAD TO PAY $809 IN TOTAL FOR NO SERVICE due to their ambiguous contract. Not only that, Jordan, the owner threatened to sue me if I don't pay the balance. I was left confused, upset, frustrated, and humiliated. I was crying for 3 days straight and still have depression until today. Thank you JKW and never again!!! read more

I am really disappointed that the owner, Jordan, is choosing to take such a transactional approach to business by not allowing any of my $800 of pre-paid wedding funds (from my Covid-canceled 2020 wedding) to transfer over to my rescheduled wedding this year. I know it's been a tough time for service businesses - and of course all contracts have cancellation policies. However, it's a little rich that a cancellation policy developed at the beginning of the pandemic (in April 2020) is what Jordan is choosing to stick with - as if anyone had any clue how long the pandemic would play out back then! My stylist, Megan, was wonderful, so my only regret is that I will not be working with her. Future brides - if booking JKW Beauty, just be very sure you won't have to cancel your wedding due to something completely outside of your control. read more

I guess I get to be the lucky person that puts in the first review. Jordan and the rest of her team are top notch. They are well trained artists who are creative, helpful, caring and patient. I've not yet had the pleasure of 'working' with the rest of Jordan's team, but Jordan is such a great person. She has done my hair and make-up for my wedding; created my Dia De Los Muertos look (and my husband's!); and helped me and my girls out for New Years; she also does a great spray on tan. If you need to see more reviews, check out her site or find her on WeddingWire.com I only wished she had her business closer - then I would call her even more often! read more

If you're looking for a beauty dream team, look no further than JKW Beauty. I was so happy and relieved when I found Megan from JKW! I had done about 8 trials with other beauty companies in the DMV area prior and left every single one of those trials disappointed. But everything changed when I booked a beauty preview with JKW. First of all, their studio is located in the cute downtown area of Frederick. When you go in, you are one-on-one with your beauty artist, so you get very personalized attention. I walked in and met Megan and was instantly put at ease. She is just a great person and will make you feel so comfortable from the get-go. She takes the time to really listen to your concerns, your preferences, and will happily look through any inspiration photos you have to share. You are not rushed at all. You have the time to truly create a look with your artist, and she will happily tweak things as you complete the look, so that you get exactly what you want. I left that trial knowing I needed to book immediately with JKW! And I have never once regretted that decision. On my wedding day, Megan and Jordan came to my hotel room and brought great energy to the day. My bridesmaids looked BEAUTIFUL and they raved about the services they received. And I felt so at ease and confident while getting my hair and makeup done knowing that I was in great hands with Megan. Trust me when I tell you this is the best hair and makeup team in the DMV area. I work in luxury hospitality sales and events, and I know exceptional service when I see and receive it. This company is the only company in the DMV area I will recommend to my friends and my clients for perfect hair and makeup services. They are reliable, exceptional professionals with a great eye for bridal beauty and style. Thank you Megan and Jordan for making me feel so beautiful ! I appreciate you more than I can ever express. read more

Megan and her team (Jenn and Laura) were the best I could ask for on my wedding day. The moms, my aunt and my 8 bridesmaids, and I all had such a blast getting ready with them the morning of my wedding! They were efficient and the hair and makeup was great. Megan perfected my bridal look and gave me EXACTLY what I was looking for. Could not recommend her more! read more

JKW Beauty did makeup and hair for our April 2018 wedding and I highly recommend them to all brides! I have had my hair and makeup done professionally countless times but the results often fall short. Most of the time I don't feel quite like myself; it's always too much or too little and takes various adjustments to get it right. However, as a bride, I was absolutely blown away by my hair and makeup on our trial and wedding day. Further, all the bridesmaids and moms loved the looks that JKW Beauty gave them. My bridesmaids kept saying how happy they were about their hair and makeup, which was very important to me. Even the girls who had "hair that never curls" still had perfect curls in their half up/half down styles by the end of the night. An awesome bonus that makes JKW Beauty stand out from other salons is that airbrush and lashes are included in their price. We had three stylists - Jordan, Felicia, and Kelsey - who did 12 ladies' hair and 8 ladies' makeup in 4.5 hours. The JKW Beauty team arrived on time and even created a schedule for us ahead of time to make sure no one was rushed (we actually finished early)! The stylists were also so fun and friendly! Their positive energy created a calm, stress-free vibe the morning of our wedding and set the tone for an amazing day. The JKW Beauty stylists were so easy to work with, were open to suggestions and adjustments on the trial and on the wedding day, answered my emails quickly, and were very professional. I spent countless hours researching vendors for our wedding, including hair/makeup, and am so glad to have found JKW Beauty! read more

JKW Beauty came highly recommended to me for my wedding day hair and makeup service, and I previously had a great experience with Jordan for a photoshoot. However, the service on my wedding day for myself, my mother, and my sister was definitely not up to their standards. The makeup artist, Kelsey, was great to work with. Unfortunately, none of our makeup held up. Within an hour, everyone's foundation had caked and separated leaving us all looking oily and splotchy. I ended up having to redo my mom's and sister's makeup before we even left our hotel. Then had to redo my own once at our venue in DC. Melissa was the hair stylist assigned for our service. Despite showing her pictures of how I wanted my hair (voluminous vintage waves), she delivered a curly, poofy mess and then tried to tell me that a curl was the same as a wave. Multiple times, she mentioned that she was leaving for vacation as soon as she was finished with our hair. I hated how my hair turned out, it wasn't anything like what I asked for and nothing could be done to fix it. She just kept recurling strands and trying to convince me it was the look I wanted. I ended up with limp hair from being over heated and overworked, like if someone had curled my hair and I'd slept on it. An even bigger disappointment was the response I received when I followed up with Jordan the day after my wedding. Not only did it take 10 days for her to respond, she told me she was sorry my experience didn't measure up to my expectations, but she thought I looked stunning in the pictures I sent. Whether she thought I looked nice or not, I did not look how I wanted to on my wedding day and did not feel beautiful as a result. Ultimately, JKW Beauty was a waste of money and I would not recommend them based on my experience. read more

The JKW Beauty team is amazing! As the owner of two photographic services, I have contracted their services for over 3 years now and they amaze me every single time. Professional, experienced and a joy to work with. Looking forward to continue working with this great team of dedicated beauty professionals. read more

My daughter and I went for wedding hair/make-up trials with this company that was highly recommended to us. The trials were nice, not fabulous, and the stylists were really very kind and friendly...unlike Jordan, the owner. Unfortunately the curls lasted about 1 hour and the eyelashes were coming off after 2 & 1/2 hours - both problems are concerning when weddings and photos last for many more hours. In addition, it took 2 months of requesting and calling to get the pictures to review which is unheard of in our techie world today. Needless to say we wasted $200 because one should NEVER hire people who are that unreliable. I'm not looking to blast anyone; I just hate the idea that I wasted my money and want to keep others from doing the same. Keep shopping! read more

I had my first experience with a spray tan this weekend. I am blown amazed with the results Love, Love, Love my tan!! Jordan was so nice and professional. She was very welcoming, and was very informative about the product. Great experience from start to finish! read more

Let me start off with how amazingly adorable the studio is. Jordan did my hair and makeup for the Marine Corps ball and I walked out feeling like the belle of the ball. I was running early and she took me immediately. She asked me if I had anything in mind and when I said no, she whipped out a whole bunch of ideas. She was wonderful to chat with and I will be returning for future events. I highly recommend anyone to come see Jordan and get glammed up! read more

Got a spray tan for an upcoming trip to Vegas. This was my first spray tan in over 10 years. The entire appointment took less than 10 minutes and I left beautifully bronze. No orange palms or elbows, just a natural looking tan. The studio was adorable and on street parking was a breeze. Can't wait to come back! read more

Awesome service. I've used JKW beauty 3x now and happy each time! Only airbrushing service in Frederick I believe. I use to spray tan quite a bit but since moving here only found 1 other place that does spray tan and they were WAY to expensive and not a pretty color. Airbrushing is the way to go and $35 a tan is AMAZING. Love going here and will be back again and again. Jordan is also very sweet which is awesome. read more

I have been going to Jordan K. Winn & Co religiously for event hair and makeup for a while now, and Every. Single. Time. Jordan and her team have absolutely given me perfect hair and makeup! She takes the time to envision the look you want and tailors it to your look- every time I have gone I have requested a totally different look and every time I have come out looking and feeling amazing and glamorous. And, very importantly, every look has photographed gorgeously while looking polished in person and never overdone. I regard Jordan and her team so highly that I did not book my wedding venue until I had ensured Jordan and her team were available to do my hair and makeup for the big day. Jordan recently did my hair and makeup for my glamorous-and-formal Save the Date photos and of course she slayed! I looked amazing and the photos came out AMAZINGLY. Cannot wait to work with her on my big day! Thanks again to Jordan and her team !! read more

I was referred to Jordan and her company by a friend who used Jordan's services for her wedding (she gushed about how great they were). I've had two hair and makeup In-home appointments and both times were awesome. The consultants (one of which was Jordan herself) were super professional and so sweet. Everyone arrived on time and were well equipped with all professional hair and makeup tools. Both times the girls were open to hair and makeup ideas, and they took the time to get to know me as a client. It felt like these girls were old friends with how cool and down to earth they were. On top of it all, the results were amazing! I got so many complements. These girls definitely know how to transform you (in a good way) and make you feel awesome. I will definitely be contacting Jordan for future events! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Jordan and her team. My experience with the company started in January of 2014 for my April 2014 wedding. I was shopping for a makeup artist last minute, and Jordan in getting me set up right away with an appointment for a trial. The first trial, the girl was very nice and sweet, but I just wasn't thrilled with the makeup. I didn't feel it was the look I was going for or what I asked for. It didn't look terrible, it just wasn't as "glam" as I was looking for- it was more natural. After talking with my mom who went with me, I decided to contact Jordan about it. I normally am never that person to cause a fuss, or complain, but this is my wedding day and I wanted to look amazing! Jordan was SO understanding, and didn't make me feel bad at all. She asked a few questions about what more I was looking for, and suggested I come back for one more trial with Jen. She also didn't even charge me for the follow up trial. Jen was AMAZING! I loved the look she did at my second trial. She also is so personable, easy to talk to, and has a contagious energetic vibe. I was thrilled to book her for my wedding. The morning of, Jen arrived super early to make sure all of my 8 bridesmaids, my mom, and myself got done in time for our 2pm ceremony. She did a phenomenal job, and all of my girls said they had never felt so beautiful. I was so pleased with the service, and I got several compliments throughout the night on my makeup. I was so impressed by both Jordan and Jen's professionalism and quality, that I recommended them to my friend who was getting married Sept 2014. She ended up loving Jordan as well, and booked Jordan herself for both makeup and hair. Jordan remembered me, and was just as professional, funny, caring, and sweet as she was in my interactions with her for my own wedding. I am so glad that I was able to provide another client for Jordan, as she is top notch. I will never go anywhere else for professional makeup or hair again. read more

Laura did my hair and makeup for my wedding on sight and did a fantastic job! I was absolutely in love with both my hair and my makeup. I did not schedule a trial in order to stay within budget, and Jordan was very understanding and accommodating. I can't emphasize enough how happy I am that I chose this business for my wedding day. read more

There are hardly words to express how wonderful it was to work with Jordan for my wedding day! She made everything effortless and was a huge reason I had very little stress day of! From the start, Jordan listened to my preferences and created a look at the trial that matched the vibe I was going for. I'm not the best at descriptions, but brought a few photos and Jordan walked me through making other choices and decisions without making me feel overwhelmed. Following the trial, she was responsive to questions/alterations I wanted to make and was ready and willing to do them day of. She was prompt and responsive to all my questions/needs. She also worked with me to add services for the mothers, a sister, and an aunt, and even was able to accommodate last minute hair-pinning requests. Bonus... everyone LOVED her work and looked amazing. She didn't require any hand-holding or reminding prior to the event. Day of, she arrived early and was accommodating and flexible. She remembered I had mentioned a few adjustments I wanted to make and made them perfectly. She made me feel calm and relaxed, for which I can't thank her enough. Most importantly, my hair and makeup was gorgeous and exactly what I wanted! Don't hesitate to book Jordan or JKW Beauty - she was, by far, the easiest and most wonderful vendor I worked with for the wedding! read more

Where do begin? This vendor is AMAZING! Jordan, Melissa, and Lola were the perfect trio to glam up my wedding party! For my April 2015 wedding they did the hair and makeup of my mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, 7 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, and 5 petal princesses! We were a handful, and Jordan & team created a calm, fun, and jovial environment during the wedding morning. More importantly, the team was professional and kept to a tight schedule so all of the lovely ladies were ready to go for photos in advance of the ceremony! Jordan K. Winn & Co. was one of my favorite wedding vendors, and I feel so lucky I booked with them early and was able to reap the benefit of the services! (If you are considering this vendor, please ignore all of those planning timelines you see on pinterest & the knot... BOOK EARLY!) I did a trial with Jordan about 2 months out from the wedding to walk through my ideas, and I was so impressed with the tweaks and minor corrections made on the day of the wedding to create the entirely perfect look! Jordan made me look and feel like a movie star, and knocked my "modern take on Grace Kelly" out of the ballpark! Additional benefits included having both air brush and fake eye lashes as part of the makeup package, and not an up charge... My bridesmaids especially appreciated this opportunity to have a high end makeup look for the wedding! In addition, the wedding makeup and hair styles lasted the entire day. We began hair and makeup preparation at 9 a.m.! The looks that were created held through the ceremony that began at 6:15, and to the end of the reception at midnight. Aside from the experience on the day of the wedding, I have to note that communicating with Jordan in advance of the wedding was seamless... We made a few changes about 4 months out, and it was easy to make the contract modifications and digitally review & sign the contract. In addition, the payment process was transparent and simple. From a business perspective, I appreciate the organized scheduling and approach to planning the services. Wedding planning and prep can be such a headache, so it's so nice when you are working with organized vendors who work to ensure the details for the day are correct and the necessary actions are made/taken in advance. I highly recommend going with an open ended trial... Show Jordan some inspiration, but also listen to her opinions and advice. She was spot on with the recs for my bridal look and also my wedding party. There is a reason she is the best in the business in the DMV area! I look forward to using her for special events in the future! read more
