I don't usually write reviews but the girls at this location are very friendly, ESPECIALLY compared to some of the other Dallas locations. I stopped going to the palm beach tans by my house and drive a little extra just to have a friendlier interaction with the workers here! They don't try to upsell me / add in extra costs behind my back, they always smile and don't act inconvenienced by me, and are overall much nicer than other locations. Thank you! read more

Kaylie went above and beyond for me at my recent visit to Palm Beach Tan on Lovers Lane. She mentioned that she was brand new, but she was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Her kindness and willingness to help me really blew me away. I even gave her a hug because I appreciated her help so much. That is rare to find today! Back Story: I'm currently in town visiting my in-laws for the month. I have a membership with Palm Beach Tan, but I always visit different Palm Beach Tan locations throughout the U.S. whenever we're vacationing/traveling. When I do visit a new or different store ... the staff usually does not greet me with the same kindness and welcoming attitude in comparison to my home store. The staff usually has a hard time finding my membership in the system, and then they're quick to rush me into a bed in order to help the next person. Kaylie was so patient with me, and quickly found my membership (despite being new). She made me feel more than welcome, took me through the entire store to show me all of the tanning bed options, and even gave me some tips and tricks to get a better tan! Some of the suggestions she gave me really worked, and I've been using these tanning beds for years! Out of all the Palm Beach Tan locations that I've been to ... I have gone to this company's McKinney, TX location in April of 2024 and have purchased only a month of service. No contract, no membership. I hardly completed my services as experience every time i went was terrible. The staff did not know what i was getting. In July, after reviewing my bank statements, i found out that the manager who processed my payment and explained what i was getting in April, has signed me up for $94.45 monthly membership without showing me contract. they only things i signed were the waivers which i also did not see. I have been trying for over a month to dispute this with my bank and trying to reach corporate office without success. There are complaints against this business with BBB for same and many other issues. This business should be sued for all the harm they have done to people. The staff is changing every week. They are rude. It is impossible to reach customer service and they scam you for money. I never received copies of any contract signed by me on April 9 when once again, i have purchased just one month service. Terrible. read more

I'm surprised at some of these reviews. I went in after Lux Spa moved over to Glo without telling me and I lost all my points. The girl at the desk was super helpful and even gave me a $25 discount because she felt bad. The place is wayyy nicer than I had expected and I should have been going here all along. Rude service. The girl working was not at all. Didn't acknowledge a promo code I was emailed from Palm Beach Tan. Not helpful with all the options, felt like I was pulling teeth from her. After I spent near to $100 for a 8 minute session in a tanning bed, she then told me about the monthly options that allowed me to tan once a day for a month that cost LESS than my single tan. Ugh. I've been getting spray tans weekly for over 10 years, and have been doing so at PBT for a couple years (after moving to a location where their location was closest). Palm Beach has had premium pricing from the beginning of time and they've steadily increased their monthly spray membership price, all of which is fine- I am okay paying for convenience and understand the economic environment we're in. However... one month ago I was notified they were doing away with the VersaPro for a new, "better" machine- the "Spray Your Way" by PBT. I tried it once, wasn't thrilled, and continued with VersaPro. No timeline for the change. Two weeks ago, I came in and learned the VersaPro is gone. Spray Your Way is the only option. This machine only offers 3 shades and if you want to add any bronzer/moisturizer/etc- you have to pay extra. The darkest shade does absolutely nothing for me being extremely pale. The only way to get it darker are the additives (which you pay extra for, even with membership). Why would I commit to a membership when each spray costs me the same as an individual? Although the staff has tried to push this "better" machine, I just learned today they're bringing in the basic Versa (vs the Pro). LOL. Still paying same the same in membership... now my options have just been downgraded. You can imagine my amusement... PBT, you simply cannot charge a premium price for a non-premium service and expect your customers to stick around. Im guessing I'm not the only one in this camp- so PBT Dallas leadership, I hope you did the cost-benefit analysis on what losing your dedicated VersaPro members looks like... yikes! read more

It used to be a great place to tan. I pay for the spray tan package and have been tanning regularly at palm beach brands since 2005 or earlier. Lately the waits for spray tan have been excruciating . 30-45 mins . They have the versa but the girl working couldn't alleviate the long line by allowing people to use it because she would "lose her job" I have never complained about the wait . Until today when I realized my credit card was frauded , MasterCard Sent me a new one. Because I missed my draft date , they charged me an extra 10$ this month . While I get it doesn't seem like a lot , it's downright rude . I immediately paid my balance and set up a new draft . As a business owner myself, I would Not treat customers as such . Do not use them they billed my account for two years a very small fee that was not super recognizable on statement. When I called to ask why account was still charged all they gave me was excuse that it was froze not cancelled. They literally charged me hundreds of dollars for zero service. I just went at 9:45pm for a Versa Spa and was very surprised but how nice everything was. I was able to get a 3 pack for $75 all in (including tax). Big downside is I only have 45 days to use them before expiration but during the summer that's no problem. One treatment is $40 so it's a good deal. The room was super nice and well set up. I will be back and I LOVE the late hours. Clean facility and nice staff! read more

Great tanning booths very clean. But they charged me a $10 fee when my credit card was VALID. I had cancelled a cc and gave them my new one on the 27th of December. Because it registered after the 25th of the month they charged me a $10 fee. I asked them to waive it and they wouldn't. Poor customer service. read more

Avoid this place at all costs, especially if you are going for a spray tan!! I had not been since August, and I noticed they raised their price for a spray tan from $40-$42, but I was OK with that. Then I discovered if you want a darker color you have to pay more, like maybe six dollars more, then if you still want the double pass on your legs I think that was another six dollars or maybe another nine dollars, and then there's another charge if you want the stuff that helps your tan stay on longer. They also have a different machine, and the only positive was that the machine was warm. So I went with a medium tan, you can no longer get the bronzer unless you want to pay extra for that, but then the super fun part is I woke up this morning and my feet are chocolate brown and the rest of my body is ghostly white. Then I remembered the same thing happened to me in August, but I had forgotten about it. This place is a horrible rip off and the girl who was working there at the time had the typical lack of interest attitude. If I had paid for all of the extras, my tan probably would've been like $70+ and I can easily get someone to come to the house and do it for less than that. In fact I just put on a layer of Saint Tropez self tanner from Sephora and it is so much better than anything Palm Beach Tan has to offer. read more

Don't go to any of the Palm beach tan places. I don't know specifically which one it was because I go to many locations (Plano, North Dallas, Frisco, Uptown) but I'm assuming it's from all of them and this one I went to the most - I got a FUNGAL INFECTION all over my back because they don't clean their beds properly. I had to get a prescription cream medication and my dermatologist told me to stay away from these beds because they are obviously not kept clean. Do yourself a favor and tan outside or find somewhere else where they care about your skin's condition and the sanity of the beds. read more

I've been a member at PBT for many years. It is really a poorly run corporation. The main reason I have stayed with PBT is because of the number of tanning locations available in DFW. Every one of the salon personnel are wonderful. But, management, there basically is none. The salons are operated by use of the internet which oddly and frequently goes down. There is no company back up operation when the internet fails. You get turned away without tanning. For instance, just the other day the internet was down at a salon I use and after an hour of the internet being down they closed the salon for the day, locked the doors and didn't leave any form of explanation for customers communicating why the salon was closed during hours it states it will be open. When salons were forced to close during the first stages of the Covid pandemic PBT continued to charge monthly dues although the salons were closed. I contacted the two person customer service team leaving a voice message. You will never speak to a live person over an issue...never. They sent several form emails back as a response but the email had nothing to do with the questions I needed answered. I explained that charging customers monthly fees with all salons closed is fraud. They shouldn't bill if they are unable to provide the service they sell. Unbelievable. One weekend in November 2021 the Addison salon was left closed for an entire weekend. No explanation of any form, no apology, nothing. I once again emailed customer service and received a formed email response saying how sorry they were to hear of my issue and someone from customer service would be calling me to discuss it soon. That was over a month ago and I still haven't received a call nor any other communication. Not surprising. One thing is for sure, you can guarantee that your monthly dues will be charged to the credit card on file at the stroke of midnight on the first day of every month. That is guaranteed to happen. What a pitifully run company. They should be embarrassed for their business practices but seem to care less. Corporate greed at its finest. read more

You guys they have the worst customer service ever! I've never dealt with a "manager" and manager who are so unwilling to sell products for their store. Don't they work off of commission? They aren't even willing to see what packages they can put together. They don't try to sell you tans. If you don't want the most expensive one then they aren't even interested in speaking with you anymore. Justin the manager is so unhelpful and his little lady sidekick is so beyond rude. Terrible experience! I just tried to tan and they said I have a remaining balance of $200 and would need to pay that AND a reconnection fee plus more... I had a debit card on file and hardly ever tan, so I had no idea they were trying to charge my expired debit card. No email or phone call to let me know- SCAM. She even said a similar case just happened. So make sure you know what you're getting into. Find it astonishing that a big company like that doesn't have a system to alert you that your account isn't where you thought it was. read more

As of today I have cancelled my membership. I've had a membership with Palm Beach for about 3 years. The membership is very overpriced already but I was paying for the convenience of them having multiple locations and late hours. Several years ago I signed up for an unlimited membership for sunless tanning using any of their sunless machines. Recently many of the locations started offering the versa pro machine. I have requested the versa pro at the last two locations I have visited with no incident. I visited this location today and was informed it would cost me an additional 8.50 if I wanted to use the pro. I was informed that the other locations only have the pro now and do not carry the old versa unit so they had to let me use the pro. However, because this location still has an older machine on site, the pro was only included with their new diamond membership for an extra 20 bucks a month over what I already pay. The girl couldn't show me any of this in writing. None of the price literature she had contained this information and instead reflected the plan I had. She assured me the machines use the exact same solutions; that the pro just "heat infuses" the solution. However, I have found the pro gives more even coverage and does a better job of drying. Additionally the heater on the regular versa at this location is broken and several of the screws aren't even fully screwed in to the machine. It's a poor quality unit because of an obvious lack of maintenance. I purchased what was supposed to be unlimited tanning on any machine they have. Now that the pro had come out, they have decided to exclude it. I would have expected that new customers sign up under the new pricing but existing customers have the plans they signed up for honored. I realize I could visit just the locations that only have the pro so they would have no option but to let me use our, but as I stated, the large number of locations was a large reason I continued to pay as much as I did in the first place. Limiting those options was the final tipping point and I will no longer be a member. read more

The customer service here is atrocious. Save yourself the headache. I've used two different locations in the Dallas area at separate times in my life and both times I was treated disrespectfully and talked down to by the employees, including the district manager. I'm a reasonable, respectful customer who rarely causes a fuss or asks for refunds, but the prices at this place are insane and the product was not at all meeting my standards. I had purchased three months of tanning services but started having adverse skin reactions after one month. I requested that my membership be canceled and the remaining time I paid for be refunded. Long story short, after two months of being given the run around and being made different promises about what could be done, I got ahold of a district manager. This peach of a human proceeded complain to me ABOUT ME and the fact that I got in contact with him, since neither his store manager nor his corporate office would help me, then acted oh so benevolent for offering me only a one month refund of the two months that were owed. As for the beds themselves, I've tanned in intervals throughout my life and I've never gotten such poor results or had adverse skin reactions the way I did when using these beds. The only reason this is not a one star review is because they did at least agree to refund 1/3 of the money and it's my own fault for using this place again after the first crappy experience. I go to several different Palm Beach Tan locations depending on where I am in Dallas that day and I have found that this is one of the best. The staff are very friendly and helpful, everything is always very clean and well stocked, and I haven't had to wait to use anything. I enjoy visiting this location and I would highly recommend it. I had a WONDERFUL experience at this PBT. I had come to this one, which is a little more of a drive for me coming from downtown, but well worth It. I had been to one right outside of downtown at the beginning of December, because I had a birthday email sent to me back in November, which I tried to use. I was told It was only good for the month of November, even though the email itself clearly said, 30 days after birthday, and It hadn't been that long yet. So I didn't make a scene. I come to this location today, show them the same email, get a happy birthday, and get to use my coupon with ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM!! the young lady and man working were so sweet, and didn't harass me about buying anything. This location's employees lack integrity and knowledge of their policies. I had gone to Palm Beach Tans in the past and never dealt with such rude employees. I went in last year to cancel my membership and signed what I thought was a contract ending my membership. Months later I noticed I was getting charged, and I spoke with the manager and she said I had only "frozen" my account, rather than cancel it. I was tricked in to keeping my account open, rather than canceled, for their profit. No one explained to me what I was signing, all the while I thought I was ending my membership. The manager could not explain why this happened. I even e-mailed corporate, and they were terrible at addressing the problem. Palm Beach Tan, especially this location, does a good job at tricking customers and being dishonest. Several times I walked into my tanning bed's room, there was still old sweat from the previous customer on the glass that you could very obviously see. When I would tell an employee, they would only roll their eyes at me and attempt to clean it up. They are lazy and all seem unhappy to be there, plus do a bad job of cleaning up. One of the front desk girls also seems very unhygienic and is very rude. I would not recommend going to this location due to lack of hygiene, rudeness of employees, as well as their dishonesty. read more

Been a member here for about four months. The staff is young and attentive. Rarely do I have to wait and when I do the staff is extremely accommodating and responsive. The equipment is up to date and is always clean and ready to go. I am always greeted with a smile and welcoming staff and when I leave I'm always told thank you. Sales approach is good - no high pressure to commit to something you don't need - very knowledgeable about their products and equipment. They deliver world class service and I am a raving fan as I know others that use that location are. Congrats to the management team and employees - you know your stuff and it shows.
