This place is the absolute pinnacle of scams! They charge you $75 just to start an account with them. They then charge you $60 a month for a tanning membership and if you wish to cancel, they can't cancel your account until the end of the month because "it just doesn't work that way". The lady at the front desk was absolutely incompetent and has spent way too much time watching the real housewives. I also just learned that when you request you cancel, they try and scam you into placing your account into a "freeze status" in which they charge you $7.50 a month to keep it on hold so that you do not have to repay the $75 activation fee if you decide to come back one day. They prey on a particular group of people so please do yourself a favor and avoid this place to save yourself and your wallet. read more

Hi! It is a Tuesday morning at 9:40 AM and the door is locked and no one is here. I have been sitting here for 30 minutes waiting for someone to show up and open as the time is typically 9 AM. There are no signs saying the store would be opening late today or anything? I am getting married in 2 days and need to tan as early as possible so this is very inconvenient. read more

I'm a regular customer (member) and I was totally turned off today (5.19.19) by the new hire (in training) Ashley. She had the most smug and less than friendly attitude I've EVER received. The spray tans are always consistently good. 4 stars instead of 5 because sometimes when I walk in there is no one at the front desk and I have to wait a wee bit. I assume it's because they are cleaning beds, but perhaps a louder bell would be better so they can assist customers right away when they come in. Other than that, the check in process is quick when there is not a wait for the spray booths and the facility is clean. It is on the pricey side (I pay $85 a month and am actually embarrassed to admit that compared to the $20 a month I paid back in PA.) But what's the other option when I want unlimited spray tans. This location is super nice and offers more amenities then ones in California, however, their spray booth is not being cleaned on a regular basis, it was clear that they hadn't washed the booth in 2-4 sprays before mine. I also have an unlimited spray membership which includes a free sunkissed single however they refused to give it to me and made me pay for something that is included free in my membership. I don't often leave reviews, I just look at them to judge the place I'm going to be going. That being said, I'm surprised there aren't more reviews on Palm Beach Tan in the Harbor Center. The staff is very nice. All the employees that I've met there have been very polite and helpful. The facility is new and the tanning beds are clean. The only downside is that sometimes they are very busy and there won't be someone at the front counter when you walk in. This is likely because they are in the back cleaning beds. Overall, I love coming here, everyone is nice, the place is clean and I would recommend it to anyone looking to tan in Annapolis. read more

I also have had issues at only this location. Seems like there's a learning curve problem. I actually took the time to point out to the employee that it was my first time using a particular bed, but that a previous employee had raved about it. She gave no instructions whatsoever and also put me in for less time than I asked. The bed has an "after bronze" feature which is why I chose it. After the tan nothing happened with the "after bronze". When I was leaving I complained that it didn't work and she told me, for the first time, that I had to press buttons when entering the bed for that feature. I replied that I told her I'd never used the bed and thus should have been given instructions. All I got was "oh, sorry." I also asked if I got anything as a diamond member for my birthday (yesterday) and she said no. The website says otherwise. I'd recommend avoiding this location. read more

I was charged $55 for ONE spray tan. I have a friend who spray tans here regularly and gets unlimited for $40 or $50 a month... This is pretty outrageously high for a basic spray tan via versaspa, I can get one for $25/$30 elsewhere. read more

I had a few bad experiences at this location. I've been going to Palm beach chains for years and never had a problem. I purchased 2 spray tans for $30, and WAS NOT told that the second tan had to be used in 45 days. I came back on day 50 to get the other spray tan and the girl told me that someone should have told me it would expire, and I would have to buy another. They did not honor it. Wow! What a fabulously clean easy tanning shop. I don't do tanning beds or the sun so this summer I really wanted an unlimited "sunless" package. I shopped around and Palm Beach had the best unlimited package. I spoke to Natalie twice in one day and she was very informative about what package to choose. She also got me set up with a primer and picked the best spray for my skin tone. I am very excited about getting a spray tan any day of the week. What is also great about palm beach is that they are open until 10pm and that's very convenient. One last thing- you can tan at any of their locations with your finger print. 10 STAR! read more

Very clean location, opened a year ago. 14 beds to choose from and two spray tanning options - both the Versa Spray Tan and Mystic Spray Tan. Multiple levels for the beds and during my first visit I was provided a tour and overview of the different features of each sunbed. I purchased a monthly membership through a Grand Opening special and you have the ability to put your membership on hold for a $7.88/month charge. When you resume tanning, you can apply your credit from the hold membership to product so you don't lose out completely on your money. They have a mandatory 24 hour tan policy. If you tan at 11AM on Monday, you cannot tan until 11AM on Tuesday or later. For regular tanners keep this in mind. Your sign in using your fingerprint so that they can prevent users from sharing memberships. One girl that works the front lacks customer service skills and has zero personality, but the rest are engaging, knowledgeable and courteous. During peak hours two employees should be staffed so that one can work the desk and the other can clean rooms which would alleviate wait times. read more

I really hate to give someplace a low review but the spray tan left me orange. I get spray tans all the time and though to would try some place new. It was not a good product and additionally and thankfully it only lasted a couple of days. They say you can have a full refund no questions asked. Well...they make you fill out a form and they send it to their corporate offices in Texas. Ok...did that on a Thursday night. They faced it to the corporate office on Friday. By the next Thursday I still had no refund on my card. I called the corporate office. It has not even been processed yet. They processed it after I complained and now I am told it will be another 5-7 days for my refund. Who does business like this anymore? Or ever for that matter? Too many choices to ever have to put up with this. read more

Makayla is absolutely by far the best staff member they have. She is extremely professional, knowledgeable, kind and attentive. She is the first to address any concern you may have. When I first started going tanning I ended up with an awful rash/hives upon Makayla's recommendation she wiped the bed down with water prior to my using it again, concerned I may be having an allergic reaction to a chemical used in the cleanser I haven't had a problem since! I go in on average every other day and without missing a beat she remembers I have this allergy and always wipes my bed down before my use. If I could give them zero stars I would. I have been using the Versa Spa at the Beechmont location for years. It has continued to go down but up until this year I liked the tan I got in spite of occasionally being out of solution or other complimentary items or the booth being dirty some other problem. But recently I have seriously considered canceling my $60.00+ a month membership. For three weeks now I have not been able to get what I like, Versa, clear, level 1. The first week they were out of the clear solution so I skipped tanning that week. (I do not like the unnatural color the "bronze" gives.) The next week, still out of "clear" but I had an important event that I wanted some color on my blue white skin so I took the bronze. I hated it but it was better than looking anemic. Yesterday I went and the thing was broken so I couldn't even get the ugly bronze! The gal told me she could fix it if she only could get the time away from the front desk and to call the next morning to see if she got it fixed but that the maintenance man would be there some time at least during the day. So this morning I called at 9:00, kept calling until someone finally answered about 9:45. This gal said, "Oh no the Versa is not fixed but the repair man will be here in a few days." A few days!!! Is this the way to run a business? Then I called the Eastgate store and finally they answered but they were out of clear solution! I have tried emailing Customer Service but my email won't go through. My advice is not to get a membership with this poorly run establishment. I am going out to buy a tan in a bottle at the drug store and then cancel my membership. read more

So excited PBT finally opened in Annapolis. I've been waiting for years. Someone else reviewed with a star saying she felt judged and overcharged, lol, try going to a real metro area and getting service there. I seldom have bad customer experiences in Annapolis as opposed to 30 or more miles west. Great facility, clean, staff I've dealt with have been super nice, PBT has always had the best price and facilities. I will say that the only one (aesthetically) that is behind is the Severna Park location which is 20 min from Annap so like I said I'm so excited it's here now. Used to love going here. Would get spray tans every few months. Once I went to a different location and got the same spray tan it was a waste of money. My tan never developed and I look exactly the same. I know how the medium is supposed to look from the past times I got them. But I did not change a shade. Extremely disappointed and a complete waste of my money. I don't even look the least bit tan. read more
