Loved the quiet atmosphere and the staff was friendly coming in. Laid back with selecting your own table and BYOB to make it feel more homey. I will say that tables were left dirty with previous party's dishes for the entire time we were there. If it wasn't busy or people weren't waiting for tables, then they stayed dirty. This didn't bother us as much because it was a quiet Saturday night - but if you're big on not seeing plates on other tables, then it may not leave you with a good impression from the start. Food came out quick, hot and delicious! We got the Ralphie and the Maria's BBQ and both were fantastic. This style pizza is more topping forward and less crust.

    Where's the chicken?

I love Palio's pizza, but I ordered a chicken club for a change and was sorely disappointed. There was barely any chicken on the sandwich. I expected more from Palio's

We ate here for the first time in years. The owner here is such a kind person! When I asked if they had hot tea, he said that they did not serve it but would make me some he had if I wanted it. So nice!! They also have great tasting gluten free and vegan/vegetarian options. Unique toppings are available, like this cashew, basil, jalapeño and Roma tomato pizza, which was delicious! The owner also informed me that this location will soon be adding non-dairy cheese as well as gluten free spaghetti to their menu! Great service from kind people.

So over cooked even a knife wouldn't cut it

Last time here! Not sure what happened to the great, friendly staff and wonderful pizza. Pizza is over cooked and the food server dropped the marinara sauce on the ground then tried to serve it to us. When I told her no, she got visibly mad. Way to many places to eat out there to come to Palio's on Stacy Road As we were leaving, they stopped our car in the parking lot to give us a free pizza replacement. We did not accept... it was that bad of an experience!

The house Manhatten was delicious with subtle adjustments to the traditional recipe. The Arancina Tradizionale is a fried ball of tasty saffron rice, stuffed with Bolognese and peas. Its a great appetizer with lots of subtle flavors. As an entree I had the Cacio E Pepe, the famous pasta prepared in a wheel of pecorino cheese and covered in fresh ground black pepper. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the cheese was creamy and mild, and the pepper nicely balanced the richness with a mild spice. I ordered shrimp on the side and it was well seasoned and nicely charred. My wife had the geilled salmon and loved it. We didn't really have room for dessert, but since everything else was so good, we couldn't resist trying the Tiramisu and Strawberry panna cotta. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. Be prepared for European style service and you will leave satisfied.

The menu I think had a good variety of entrees to choose from, and we both ended really liking the dishes we ordered. I ordered the pasta bolognese, and it was great. The pasta was cooked right and the sauce not super over powering. We will definitely be back to try other dishes. My only complaint was that seating is a little cramped, and everyone including the restaurant staff had to maneuver around chairs, etc. but other than that we really enjoyed our visit.

It looked expensive from the outside but it wasn't. We were seated right away. They brought us some good bread to nibble on while we ordered. The tea was a little weak but I'm very picky on my tea. We ordered parmesan and garlic bread for an appetizer. It was huge and super tasty. The dipping sauce was very good. We also ordered a spaghetti bolanase. There was so much that I ate 3 meals out of it. We'll be back.

We didn't realize until we were ordering that they do a BOGO half off deal on entrees every Tuesday, as long as everyone orders an entree. As a result we definitely had too much food on the table but it was nice for our party of 7 to try a bunch of different things! I didn't have time to take pictures of it all, but we started with the bruschetta and the sautéed mushrooms. Bruschetta came out hot and great as usual, but the mushrooms were a bit salty. The complementary salads were nice and light and our servers were great at refilling waters and bringing out more free bread throughout the night. For our entrees, we ordered the creamy lemon shrimp pasta with spaghetti, the eggplant parm with fettuccine, the lasagna bolognese, the shrimp spezia, the tortellini bolognese (one of the specials that day), and the dolce e salato & cesarini pizzas. My favorite items of the night were the dolce e salato pizza (the sweet and savory combo was excellent and the crust was light and fluffy) and the shrimp dishes - the shrimp was cooked very well. I'm not a big red sauce person but the bologneses were also pretty good. The long noodles were a little mushy in all the sauce but the tortellini was not bad. Portion sizes were huge so we took three boxes of leftovers home! And one of the ladies at the host stand helped us take some nice group pictures outside the restaurant after our meal. For a solid local red sauce joint that will fill you up and then some, look no further!

Will call this a hidden gem for anyone, but especially for travelers since it's off the beaten path. Every member of the staff we encountered was friendly. They have a lounge upstairs. The main dining room is lively and inviting. The space is tight keeping you from an intimate experience. The tastes in both plates were fresh and flavorful. The menu notes GF pizza, BUT they also offer GF penne. My only complaint was not having bread to soak up the glorious cream sauce on my scallopine. For the GF crowd, it can be hard to find fresh Italian dishes that taste less than the normal dishes. Outside of the substitute pasta, you wouldn't know the gamberi was GF. This restaurant is now on our list of those we have to visit when we're back in the area.

We were a party of 7 had appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts. The food was good but nothing special and amazing. I would give more preference to the food than I would the service. At 620pm the waitress asked us to leave as there was another party needing our table. Again we were there an hour and 20 minutes. Our bill as most had multiple spirits and wine was $400-500. I wish they were just a little more polite than you need to leave as there is another party with an upcoming reservation. Maybe a little warning. We grabbed our belongings and went and got a drink at the Landon winery. I will post the pics as I said I feel like their food is decent. They are a small quaint place in downtown McKinney and were busy when we left.

The cagliaritana had the PERFECT ratio of ingredients and the crunch on the pizza was unreal. Everything tasted and smelled insanely fresh. The Caesar was loaded with freshly shaved parm and somehow tasted way better than a Caesar salad has any right to. I think the croutons were also homemade? Perfect! The small three cheese pizza was also perfect -- great crust, great sauce-to-cheese ratio, and honestly the perfect size to split with someone alongside a salad. But the TNT panini?? Holy crap. The second you unwrap it, the smell of the garlicky focaccia hits you immediately. And the pink sauce was some of the best I've had. The tiramisu was also the perfect sweet ending to the meal. It wasn't overly sweet and soggy like most in this area. Cannot wait to try the cannolis! After years of searching for real Italian food, I finally feel like I found it. Fresh ingredients, amazing flavor, and genuinely kind people. The owner (or who I believe was the owner working the front) was so friendly, accommodating, and transparent about timing.
