Staff was super friendly. My daughter and I came here to pick up a pizza after church. We were initially confused because we thought they were closed because of how dark it was on the inside. For fear of literally getting the itis in this setting, I opted for to go. They told me it would be 15 - 20 min, so we went to cinnaholic and back while waiting. It took over 20 minutes, and one of the staff brought out pizza to us. It was tasty, but seemed "overdone" and dry, lacing Alfredo sauce. For the upcharge, I was expecting a little more sauce. Also, my medium pizza initially came to over $30. When I questioned it, I was informed that there was a medium pizza special that day, and the 4 cheese flavor I requested was specialty. Our family of 4 has struggled to find one place that we ALL love the pizza. Typically, we order from two different places to satisfy our pizza cravings. That is, until we found Durkin's Pizza. We have door dashed twice now and both times the pizza is wonderful. Last time, we ordered the Kitchen Sink and it definitely left us wanting more, MORE Durkin's that is. Tonight, we made sure to order more. Our order included cheesy bread, large Kitchen Sink, and large make your own (pepperoni). Our order travels from McKinney to Allen and it is hot and fresh. I don't know what's going on in the northern DFW cities , but for some reason all these highly rated pizza places sell 16 inch pizzas (that's a large) for $22+ and though they are tasty they have almost no cheese, almost no toppings, like a craft pizza. I'm all for small portions of tasty things, but Pizza isn't supposed to be one of those. Durkin's will probably be in our rotation of pizza from now as my nieces are hooked on the cheese pizza! They take the proper precautions that are absolutely necessary during COVID, so we definitely appreciate that! The inside of the place is small, but the vibe is super cool! This past weekend was our families first experience here. We ordered take out over the phone, I walked in, paid, got my pizza and peaced out. I was visiting from out of town, and decided on having Durkin's delivered after seeing it online. I'm a crust girlie so I figured if it looked half as good as the photos (with good flavor) I would be happy with it. It arrived to my hotel hot and delicious and somehow managed to look better than the reviews! Unlike some reviews I found the crust to be perfectly salted and flavorful, with great balance of cheese, sauce, and toppings. My only critique is to consider adding side sauces to the ordering menu. I'd gladly pay an extra charge to dip into a bit of ranch or marinara. [When I came to write this review, however, I was shocked and appalled at how hateful some people were getting...over pizza. I understand being disappointed by the food, service, ambiance and sharing that to save strangers from a similar experience, but the subtle (and blatant) ra cist remarks about the owner and staff are disgusting and unacceptable. We are done with Durkins. We have been going there sine they opened many years ago and until recently the pizza has always been outstanding. Consistency of the product is poor compared to the past. Two of the last three pizzas have been marginal. The pizza today had very little sauce and almost no cheese? This place is my absolute favorite since moving to the area over a year ago. I've tried a wide range of pizza places and I've settled on this one as my go to for our Friday/Saturday pizza night. We always get the same order 2 large pizzas one pepperoni and sausage, the other Canadian bacon and pineapple. Along with a large salad. It's plenty of food for two teenage boys and a couple adults. With leftovers! The quality of the ingredients top notch imo. The crust has a light crispy finish. It reminded me of my favorite place back home in California. The house salad we got was delicious. I can't wait to try another one next time. Service is always friendly. We haven't had the opportunity to eat in yet but the place is nice, clean and puts out a good vibe. Nicest staff in the world. When I came in on Sunday morning with my family of 5 came in Erica could see we had our bands full. She brought the plates, cups, and a high chair to our table. They even went out of their way to get the football game on the TV for me at my request. Definitely treat you like family here. I heard great things about Durkin's so my husband and I decided to drop in to satiate our pizza cravings. We found a seat and proceeded to order our meal at the front. The place isn't very large so if you go during a busy time, you may have to wait. We decided on the kitchen sink and the BBQ chicken pizza with a small Italian chopped salad. The food came out fairly quickly and we were eating in no time. The salad was tasty but had just a tad bit too many olives in it. However, it was refreshing and the Italian dressing had just the right amount of zest. The kitchen sink pizza came out first and then the barbecue chicken pizza came out soon after. Both were really delicious and piping hot. The crust on both pizzas were so soft and I couldn't help but eat most of it, although it did fill me up rather quickly. It would've been great dipped in ranch dressing. The only thing I would've probably changed about the barbecue chicken pizza is to add some red onions on top. The pizza looked pretty bland with just the barbecue sauce, chicken, and cheese. Simple but still a tasty pizza. We ordered a large in both pizzas so we had plenty of leftovers to take home with us.
