What a great place! A large group of us were passing through Bayse and decided to stop by Pale fire on the weekend. They had lots of seating inside, and although I didn't eat anything all the food looked and smelled delicious! Had a lot of fun cocktail options, beer by the glass or pitcher and cool merch a couple of us ended up buying! The outdoor section was my favorite, they had Cornhole and lots of tables. One of the staff even came out and made a fire for us, which was incredibly thoughtful and we really appreciated it. As we were leaving they had a live musician come on, which was such a treat. We definitely will make a tradition of visiting this place, and recommend any visitors like us to stop by!

And another mug of Red Molly

The bar you wish you had in your basement Pale Fire Bay Virginia what a nice place wonderful people both employees and patrons. Gotta find this when you get a chance.

It was nice to see a new restaurant in Basye during our annual visit a couple of weeks ago. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seatings. We opted for in door. The service was good. And food was better than expected. We ordered two pizzas with the flatbread crust which were excellent choices. Note that the pizzas are Detroit style which means the sauce is on top. We also got loaded fries- it definitely was loaded! We will definitely return next year during our annual trip.

Great little bar and grill that specializes in beer/ale and Detroit style pizza. It's very unassuming from the outside, and it's very small, but has a lot of heart! Staff are cheerful and sweet. There were people enjoying the game at the bar. We picked a table and the wait staff got to us quickly. After offering, our waitress informed us that they were very short on lettuce and couldn't make the full sized salad we ordered to go with our pizza. She had two small salads for us (I'd call them 1/4 salads or kid sized) but offered them free of charge since they were unable to make what was offered on the menu. They were just enough to go with our small pizzas. The small pizza was just enough for the two of us who didn't have a huge appetite. Their dessert menu was limited, and the desserts themselves were small portioned, but inexpensive. Overall, a nice little place for drinks and pizza or small plates in the small mountain foothills town of Basye.

Long a fan of the Harrisonburg location, this outpost is awesome and so close to home. It's a welcome addition to the area, has a slew of ever changing, top notch beers, a full bar and solid pizza! Also this spot has a ton of out door seating, perfect for my pups (although Harrisonburg is pup friendly inside). The team here are super friendly, know their stuff and welcome you with a smile. 5 stars all the way, love it so much we just joined the mug club!

This is a place I will try to get back to. They had a good selection and a great place to enjoy it in. The Oktoberfest was not overpowering. Simple flavor and a nice aftertaste. Who can argue. FYI they also serve pizza and a rousing game of putt putt for those on the date. 4 stars

Great new pizza and beer joint in Basye, just opened on January 12! My family stopped in for dinner after a day skiing at Bryce and were not disappointed! We got a pretzel to start, served with cheese and mustard dipping sauces. Delicious house made soft pretzel, great for sharing. We ordered a cheese pizza (delicious!) and the 540, a pesto veggie pizza (this is a white pizza, very good!) - focaccia style crust was excellent. My daughter ordered a meatball sub - delicious meatballs and sauce on a soft baguette, she said her sub was better than the pizza! And of course they've got lots of beer choices on tap and Blue Ridge kombucha in cans. This was our first trip to Basye and we'll be back just to try all of the pizza selections! Although we visited in January, there is a large outdoor section with picnic tables that looks like it will be awesome in the warmer months!

    Big Ol' Pretzel

Delicious. Our family of 5 had the giant pretzel, loaded fries, and Detroit-style pizza. Everything was very good, and the service was friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is cozy and fun, especially on a snowy day.

The brewery itself was so cute and cozy and as soon as we walked in i said someone is making chilli and i need it. So we ordered that and the picnic basket. Was blown away because both choices were exactly what i needed. The chili was so yummy and a little bit spicy. The picnic basket had this dip that i could not stop eating even after the bread and the crackers we used to dip were gone. This brewery has board games and what looks like space for live music that would be perfect chill night out. My friends all tried beer and they all liked it. I know nothing of hops and what not so i have nothing to add here but my shandy was great and if we didnt have other stops to make i would have definitely would have a second. if you ever find yourself in virginia and in need of a nice place to hang out, watch the game or if you ware craving chilli, head here everyone is nice and welcoming and you will get good food and drinks

They have a Wednesday burger night thing going on with delicious cheeseburgers and sides. The beer was also great and they have a pretty decent selection on dark beers. I particularly loved the beer called "cock and pull it" and the oatmeal stout they had. They have limited hours now due to COVID-19, but definitely worth checking out and interacting with locals.

I took my number and sat wherever I wanted. I sat in front of a giant tv on the wall with pre superbowl stuff going on. My wine came out quickly, it was very nice! The burger came out next, it had cheese, lettuce, tomato and a bacon jam that was just right! The burger was juicy and I loved every bite of it! The burger came with fries that were very hot and crispy!! Zero complaints!!

The cinnamon spiced Wassail cider was tasty and perfect for the fall and comes in larger 16 oz cans (4 pack is $14) while some of the other flavors like the Honey Ginger and Peach ciders come in smaller, 12 oz cans (4 pack for $11). There's outdoor seating to soak in the sweeping views of the Shenandoah hillside and the beautiful fields and pastures! The indoor seating is a bit cramped for only a dozen or so people. In the end my wife found a wonderful option, the Virginia blackberry cider. She said it was her favorite. I had a Virginia tannin which I found matched a white Sauvignon blanc in some flavor, and was good for sipping in the shade on top the hill.
