Have been eating here for many years but tonight was the last. Management proved it does not value certain customers. Spoke to manager about obscenely loud children he seated next to us. He told me that unfortunately his dining room was full. That was not true when we arrived but still they seated us in the part of the restaurant that they put small children. There was nobody under the age of 45 in our party. Family was obnoxious and verbally insulting when we left and yet the manager told us we needed to leave the premises. Really? All we wanted was a nice family dinner where we could enjoy good food and good company. Instead we get Chuck E Cheese behavior, personal attacks and a manager who has no idea how to do his job! read more

I've yet to dine in but have ordered through a delivery service a couple times and have always been delighted. Food is fabulous and has arrived hot and well packed. House salads are crisp and well appointed. Our entree choices have never let us down. Came here before the evening rush. 6p. Sat at the bar. Waiter was very attentive. Alan. Good guy. Cut to the chase - food was good. In some cases excellent. I had plain fettuccini alfredo. It was good. Not great. But, this place had more. They pride themselves on their handmade pizza. And from my vantage point at the bar, I saw every pie get hand tossed before it hit the oven. But.. I can't speak to the pizza. I didn't have any. I can say, though, that pizza was a buzzword coming from everyone there, coming in or leaving. What I can speak to is this: The place had a good vibe. You can't manufacture that.. roll it in flour and expect people to feel good all of a sudden. Wow! Hosted my 60th birthday party in their private room last night. It turned out fabulous! Agustin was great working with me in planning the last few months. Robert and Jennifer made sure my every wish/need was met last night. They also made sure that the food was served to the whole group within just a few minutes--they were very organized. We went to Palazzo's for an early dinner on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised. Service was great and food was delicious. Starting with the warm bread with olive oil dipping sauce all the way to the delicious pastas and pizza. We ordered Shrimp Scampi, Fettucine Alfredo, Penne Stefano, and Pizza. I used to come often just a few years ago. Family-friendly place with reasonable prices. I don't know if there was a change of ownership, but my last two visits have been so disastrous that I'm not going back to this place. The first disaster happened three or four months ago. The waiter was so bad, and it took so ridiculously long to get serviced, that we ended up leaving without our main dishes after almost 90 minutes. On our way out the manager stopped us to apologize and asked us to "please give them another chance." (Incidentally, they gave us the bill for the full amount - not that I was hoping to get free food, but after such a bad experience you would have hope that at least the calamari would have been complimentary). Tonight I decided to give them that second chance. I wish I hadn't. Our waiter took a long time to come to the table and get out drinks order. Then he took even longer to get the food order. I was being patient and order what I always order: the filet. When he finally showed up with the dishes, he delivered something that I had not ordered: steak swimming in some sauce, with what appeared to be onions on top, mashed potatoes and asparagus. When I told him that there had been an error, he said that he "understood" that I wanted the filet special. When I told him that I just wanted the regular fillet, he huffed and took the plate away, saying something along the lines of "well, fine, but it s gonna take a long time to get your food now." I asked my daughters to start eating and then, perhaps 3 minutes later, a busboy came back with THE SAME DISH I had just rejected. Well, except they had taken the onions away. At this point I was done with the aggravation. I told the waiter that it was still not what I had ordered, but I was going to eat it. It blew my mind that he insisted it now was a different dish: the fillet from the menu! Trying not to ruin the evening, I told him that I didn't want to argue anymore and ate the dish. Second regret of the night. The meat was drenched in the sauce - and not in a good way. The asparagus were tough, the mashed potatoes had a powder-milk like taste and they were so glue-like that they could have been used to install tile. Of course, when the bill came, they had charged for the special! I sent the bill back. The waiter was not happy about it (!!) and asked me if I wanted to talk to the manager. I told him no. It was not worth the time and the extra aggravation. I did not leave a tip (something that I never do) and wrote a note on the bill, to let them know how bad the service had been. I did not want them to think that the $0 tip was because I was a cheapskate. So, there you go. I won't be coming back. Fortunately there are dozens of dramatically better options just a few minutes away at City Centre. read more

I'm sad to say that the best part of the meal was the bread. But on a happier note, it was some phenomenal bread. I mean, it was nice and warm, crispy no the outside, but soft enough to pull apart easily. It had a nice, but faint garlic-y taste to it and wasn't overly greasy. Course, then they brought out the oil and balsamic vinegar and that was over. But I pretended that it wasn't all bad for me and enjoyed the bread immensely. I ended up with the Veal Ragu which was a bit disappointing. Some of the noodles weren't cooked all the way and the meat was just not what I expected. It was more like a roast than anything and wasn't as tender as I'd expect from veal. I was also convinced that the tomato basil soup was actually La Madeline's, but my dining companions didn't seem so sure. My salad was fine, though the lettuce could've been a bit crisper. Our waiter was pretty MIA for most of the meal and my soda was never refilled. However, our waters and ice teas were refilled to the point of amusement--pretty much after each sip! Though the waiter did try to be friendly at the end, the fact that he didn't bother listening to us as we told him how to split up the check was just irksome. I'm not sure that this experience was enough to make me check out their other locations, much less drive this far out for just okay Italian food. read more

I got takeout from Palazzo's last night and I was really sad to only see a couple people sitting inside on a Saturday night. I hope that their business is doing well with delivery and takeout because this business is truly consistent with its food. I grew up ordering the same Penne Stefano from Palazzo's and it tasted the exact same last night as it did 8 years ago. It is delicious and consistent! The chicken piccata is also so good. Palazzo's should have two ratings - one for to go and one for eat in. While this just across from my office - I rarely eat AT Palazzo but often from there. My image of eating there is positive but somehow it is better when I go to the take-out door on the side and have mine to go. Whether a pizza or salad or pasta or an entree' this place is always a good solid 8-8.5. Reasonable prices make it easy to order for the whole office and they will even bring it to you. Came here for lunch with some coworkers and was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. From the time you enter the door, the smell of warm bread, basil, and garlic greet you and your stomach is ready to get some delicious food. We were promptly seated by a friendly hostess and our waiter arrived to take drink orders in less than a minute- talk about service! They serve warm, flat bread sticks at the table, which are some of the most delicious bread that I've ever had the privilege to eat. Good luck trying to avoid them, because they were warm, soft, and topped with what tasted to be parmesan cheese. Honestly, I would come back just to get the bread sticks!! The bread is served with a dipping sauce of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which was really good as well. There's a special lunch menu, with lunch portions and prices, but I opted for a personal size (8") Athena pizza, which came with pepperoni, red onion, tomatoes, Greek olives, and feta cheese. I was worried that an 8" pizza wouldn't be big enough for me, so I also got a cup of the tomato basil soup. The soup came out right away, and was much larger than I expected! Their cup size is what some places would consider a bowl, which was a nice surprise. The pizza itself would have been plenty big, though, and I ended up taking several slices home. But OH MAN, was it delicious. Hot, melted cheese and roasted tomatoes and onions on a delicious crust, it was one of the best pizza's that I've had here in Houston. I had a very disappointing experience here. I didn't pick this place but was going here for a business meeting. I hoped they would be able to put together a vegan dish but if they could not it would have been ok if they said no. Just tell me the truth. I was still going to attend the lunch meeting. Two different servers assured me they could bring me a vegetable plate that would be vegan, no problem. Unfortunately, this was untrue. My first bite of a vegetable and I tasted butter smothered all over it. So two problems here: They did not listen to me, and they lied. I am a strict vegan for health reasons and I do not appreciate this one bit. All they had to do was tell me the truth. Another guy came over to the table after I asked the server to take my plate away, and asked if I would like him to make a vegetable plate without butter. REALLY?!?! So you COULD HAVE done it the way I asked, you just chose not to? The attitude displayed was one of nonchalance. If I did that in my job I'd be fired! So I am unhappy with both their food and service but the service was the killer. Even if you do not have any dietary restrictions, don't expect them to listen or care about your order. For this reason, I cannot recommend this place. That butter taste lingered on my tongue a long time. Gross! read more

This is a really nice to eat. I can hear myself talk. I am not having to raise my voice or lean closer to hear my dinner guest. They brought us plenty of bread and just offered some more. Boy is it delicious. We split our entree. That was just right. We also had a salad. We will be back again. We came back on a Friday night. It's busy but I can still talk to my MIL. Went for a quick business lunch. I liked the food ok. Starting to think it's time to refresh things some. I went with the lite pasta and had order envy on the chopped salad. The pasta was decent but I'll say the grilled chicken on it tasted rubbery and it lacked much in the way of veggies listed on the menu. I have been in the past and liked the pizza and salads. We like the size, atmosphere , tasty food, and that we can bring our own wine, but I have too often had food that included dairy, something I am very allergic to. I always explain that I have celiac disease and a bad dairy allergy, but somehow many times I have experienced a terrible night followed by the days of recovering from the reaction to dairy. In a sentence: Not worth the money! This place is right around the corner from our home so we decided to stop in on a Saturday night (we are regular Russo's Pizzeria folks). We were promptly seated and our slightly creepy waiter served bread and immediately wanted to know our order. I say creepy because he had such an intense stare that it made us both uncomfortable. It was our first time, so we ordered a half liter of house Chardonnay and a small house salad just to stall him and give us a chance to look at the menu. He returned within a minute with our wine and my salad, salad was pretty skimpy standard- lettuce, tomato, onion and 1 olive and some feta. Add a couple more olives and a pepperoncini or two and I'd be happy. The house Chardonnay was tasty. Per Yelpers, their pizza is amazing, so we ordered a gluten-free 14-inch Vino. Honestly, it was just "eh". Nothing really stood out for us. We debated ordering dessert but given the salad and pizza, we elected to go to Baskin Robbins afterwards instead. Creepy waiter took forever getting our bill, to the point that boyfriend waved down a different waiter to get our bill. I keep wanting to give this place a second chance, and it keeps disappointing me. I work next door in One Briarlake Plaza, and I occasionally visit for a slightly more upscale lunch with visitors. Every time, something is missing. This time, it was the service - the waiter was nowhere near as attentive as they should have been. Also, the food has missed the mark in my past few visits. This time, I had the meatball panini - the meatballs were mushy, flavorless, and didn't taste like any meat I am familiar with. Last time, I had the Shrimp Scampi pasta - while the shrimp were tasty, the entire dish was swimming in flavorless oil. I really like this place. I have been coming for lunch several times in the past 3 years. Service has always been very attentive and the food very consistent. Normally their specials are very good, it often includes a fish dish which I really enjoy. However, my very favorite is the veal ragu with pappardelle. That dish made me fall in love with this place. It makes me feel like in an authentic Italian trattoria, the flavors are very bold and rich. I have also tried the southwest lasagna and the chopped salad, and they are good, but nothing compares to the veal ragu. Their lunch entrées are very reasonably priced and also come with a house salad with a light and homemade vinaigrette, which is very good. Also, before I forget, the house bread and olive oil are great! Another big plus for me is that this place has gluten free alternatives. My wife is gluten intolerant and their GF pizzas ate very good. This place is a great kept secret in the Westchase area, definitely worth trying it. read more

We love this place. It's very consistent with the quality of food, no matter if we go for lunch or dinner, and we've always gotten prompt and friendly service. My husband religiously orders the chicken piccata and I've tried several items. I love the ragu with fresh pasta, and their fish specials are delicious. I'm terribly sad when they run out of tiramisu, but we go often enough I can get my fix the next trip. Delicious! The food is amaze balls & the staff are all super friendly. My husband & I came in fairly early in the evening with our 1 year old in order to avoid a crowd. At some restaurants, they make you feel like a pariah for bringing in a child(even though you are coming in to eat on a Wednesday at 5pm) but palazzos welcomed us. We ordered two pasta dishes that were utterly saturated with garlic and salt (something we normally enjoy). Couldn't eat more than a third of what we ordered, way too strong. Also the few greens in the pasta dishes were overlooked to the level of being brown, which is not what we imagined when we ordered one of the vegetable pastas. Both were also swimming in oil, which probably added to the overly salted garlic taste. The side salads were good, bread was chewy. Probably won't order from here again. read more

Came here on a weekday and it was packed. One thing to note is that the layout is just weird but did not detract from the experience. Onto the review about the food! The complimentary bread is a flatbread with some doughy goodness in it. This can get dangerous so watch out! I ordered a pasta with marinara and italian sausage and it was good. It was a well balanced dish overall. The portion sizes here are generous as well. I'll be coming back soon to try more of the dishes! read more

My boyfriend and I visited Palazzo's for dinner with another couple. It was basically everyone's first time ("basically" because my boyfriend swore he had been there before but couldn't remember it). I must say that I stress the goodness of the bread here, and also the fact that it seemed to be the best part of the meal. Moving on, I'm not at all a wine connoisseur and I got a very good recommendation from the waiter and loved the wine that I got, which was a blend of everything since I had no idea what I liked more than others. However, the reason I give this only 3 stars is because I ordered filet mignon and didn't like anything about the whole meal. The meat seemed fatty and harder to pull apart than I expect from a filet mignon (and for the price of one). Not only that, but the potatoes that went with it were comparable to instant (if they weren't actually instant). I get that it's an Italian restaurant, but for the price of a meal like that I expect it to be the real thing. To add to that I also didn't like the side of spinach, but my boyfriend did so that may have just been me. Overall the pricing isn't bad, it's just that the meal I ordered was not as expected for the general pricing you expect for it. I would go back and try something else probably. And if that doesn't work out, the nearby Chocolate Bar will be more than happy to fill the rest of your belly with a hearty portion of dessert (but, alas, that's another review!) read more

Hit or miss on service, but salads are great every time.

The ingredients they use on their dishes is very good, with different varieties. I give them credit for that. Buuut, their pasta sauce in every dish is so watered down, I tried the light pasta and their faticini and it wasn't creamy or cheesy at all. The noodles and the ingredients were almost swimming in it. A thick and creamy sauce is what makes a pasta. If they get their sauce right, their dishes would be more delicious. read more

Had a delicious and delightful lunch today!!! I had the Uncle Vino's Pizza, Cheese Ravioli smothered in Alfredo Sauce, mushrooms and grilled chicken. It was all out of this world delicious! I brought a good friend out for her birthday dinner on 8/16/16 because I know Palazzo's to be consistent, almost never crowded at night, and laidback. That being said, I recommend it for a quick and inexpensive weeknight dinner if you live close by. We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer and garlic bread was brought to the table while we waited. They bring quite a few breadsticks to the table every time, which I appreciate. This time the bread was cold and tough to chew (1 star) - we opted to wait for the calamari. The calamari was piping hot, served with a lemon wedge and marinara - very delicious and fresh. (4 stars) I don't normally go for the ordinary fettuccine alfredo, but I decided to try it this time and it was as fettuccine should be! Perfectly al dente fettuccine, flavorful and creamy alfredo, and grilled, juicy chicken with mushrooms to complete the dish. (4 stars) The waiter was polite and attentive and several people came around to refill our glasses of water when they were still half full. I give my visit here 3 stars due to the cold bread alone. I think that since the restaurant had very few diners, the bread was not fresh and had been sitting in the kitchen for a while. read more

This is our go too take out, My husband and I have their number on speed dial. No joke. We order take out on average 3 times a month and dine in maybe once a quarter. I've ordered several different dishes and salads before and have been pleased with them all. The fettucini alfredo is one of our favorites (lame I know) but it's the best in Houston. Usually we order one dish and have them split it. Sometimes they charge us for this and other times they don't. Of course I would rather not get charged for the slip but I understand why they do it when you order take out. Just wish this was more consistent. Also the lady who answers the phone at dinner time for take out was short and on the verge of rude. I made a comment about it one day while my husband was ordering, she must have heard me because she changed her tone. The servers know us by face now when we walk in to pick up our order and are always friendly. read more
