Honestly this was really hard to write a review for because we loved the experience but the room was kind of dated and one of our light bulbs were out lol The view of the colosseum was just amazing. Waking up and going to sleep to that view was incredible. The staff here was very friendly and attentive, always trying to make our stay comfortable as well as booking reservations for us to suitable restaurants. We thought there was going to be a tub but was sadly mistaken.. but now I'm just being needy lol The only reason I can complain about these things is because of the price. Any room with that view will cost a decent amount but with that amount, I would expect every single light bulb to work lol read more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and when we got here we had a great view of the Colosseum but the rooms are very small and we could barely fit our big size luggage in the room. All they have is espresso coffee in the room. They say they are a 5 star hotel, but the only complimentary drink you get is water. When we asked for an extra luggage holder they said they can only give us one. We asked for an iron and the first iron they gave us was old and smoking when we turned it on. Uhm should I mention AGAIN that this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel? We asked for another one and the next one was burnt. The restaurant upstairs is over priced $150 per person and there's a dress code. There are plenty of other restaurants to walk to in the area. To top off our stay, my husband and I returned back from dinner one night to find my tampons and pads missing. The house keeper most likely threw them away. When I called the front desk to explain to them what happened the lady said she will have to talk to the house cleaning manager. When she called me back she said that she couldn't locate the missing pads and tampons. She asked to offer a solution and she suggested that my husband and I take time out of our vacation and go ride in a golf cart provided by the hotel to the nearest pharmacy. She said my husband could buy some more tampons and pads and she will talk to her manager to offer reimbursement. Not once did she offer anything more like a free meal for the inconvenience. Even more embarrassing, she had a male staff member give us a ride to the pharmacy. Simply rude, and inconsiderate. She didn't offer a discount on the room, a voucher to souvenirs store NOTHING. She basically said "sorry there's nothing else we can do for you." To call themselves a 5 star hotel is a LIE, because this hotel knows nothing about exceptional customer service. They don't care if you come back or not because they make money off people booking the rooms for the views of the Coliseum. Save yourself a headache and do yourself a favor and stay away from this Hotel. You're better off at a Hilton or Marriott where they believe in great customer service or they will make it right. read more

After our cruise, we wanted to stay an additional night in Rome to recoup. The room clean and eclectic design was well appointed. The bathroom and bedroom has unobstructed views of the Colosseum. They provide an Android phone to use free of charge. We didn't take advantage of this as our phones already have data plans but I would think this is a very nice to have and you can make calls free of charge. Wi-Fi is reasonable speed and good toiletries. They brought a welcome Prosecco in the afternoon for us. Breakfast is nicely done at the Aroma restaurant with amazing views. Worth the splurge if you want to spend a few nights here. We had the Master room with Colosseum view. Hotel staff is very friendly. read more

Disappointing. View of Colosseum is nice, but there are several restaurants and bars on side of hotel and outside colosseum. They are open until 3 am, and loud every night of the week. You'll get view of Colosseum but you won't be able to sleep because the rooms with Colosseum view also view every bar open until 3 am. Concierge is not effective at all, every request was either not achieved or not responded to. Try to get into restaurant at hotel, but told they were booked with people staying at other hotels. No accommodations for hotel guest at all. Very surprising considering the cost of hotel. No valet, pool, gym or spa. Parking is $60 a night. All and all very disappointed- other less expensive options available, next time in Rome I will not be back. read more

View is priceless. I love that the terrace gets just the right amount of sunshine. Truffle ravioli was delicious (about 5-6 decent size ravioli). Wouldn't go here if you were starving, but great for a small plate and drinks. I dine out a lot, and I find that it's the details that really make a restaurant stand out from the rest. The small hors d'oeuvres and desserts compliments of the chef were creative and delicious. There were several types of bread that kept on coming. They will even place a pretty stainless steel domed lid on your plate to keep it warm if you step away. Hefty price tag for a salad, two pasta dishes, and tea, but you're paying for the view, service, and ambiance as well. I don't regret it at all! read more

I have never been so insulted before. My friend and i saw this place online and we packed fancy outfits just for this night out. Fast forward to now were in rome and super excited to come here, we want to be prepared so we call and make sure that no reservations are necessary they said no so long as there's less than 6 people in the party, and previous to this we emailed them asking for more details and they said no flip flops, and no shorts. Smart casual. So my friend and i got dolled up, makeup, hair done, each had heels ,she had a flowy black elegand dress and a fancy purse, i wore my elegant floral shirt and shiny business pants and we each had heels. We walked up and were greeted by a man in a suit he smiled but said they were booked, we told him we just called and you said "sorry we're fully booked" then behind us 2 locals asked and he said "we're booked but come back at 8" so we asked if we should come back at 8 and he said "yes" so we waited beside this place for an entire hour and then we saw the man wearing with a dress shirt and jeans and his wife leave so we walked back and asked if we can have their table and a lady was standing beside the original guy and was SO RUDE she told us " we have a dress code and you dont meet if" so we pointed honestly confused and said what... what doesn't meet it? And she said "you aren't smart, our dress code is smart casual you're just casual." And i asked her "dont you think you should have told us that an hour ago if you think im not dressed up enough, and you can't tell people they aren't smart because thats intelligence." No special requests - please! Ristorante Aroma We were celebrating a special occasion and we booked and advised of this 3 months in advance for a pleading to have a window table up-front to watch the sunset, which we timed with our reservation appointment. No mention of our special occasion and seated in the back of the restaurant. They had not care or desire that we booked 3months for this! I insisted that we be moved up-front (only 1 of 6 front tables occupied) and we seated on one of the two that had a pillar in the way of the table view... I called BS and asked for the available corner table. No not possible it is already reserved... WHAT... i reserved 3months in advance... i wanted to leave but didn't want to ruin our occasion so we took the last remaining decent window seat. I will give credit the couple that took that corner window table he proposed to her - congrats to them! They have zero dress code either! They sat a couple of young woman (thankfully in the back room) who were wearing daisy dukes and a short jean skirt with threads hanging out and in the front room (next to us) earlier was a couple and he had on jeans... Ok the food It was Michelin star quality but I think they were trying to do too much with it... and not a lot of food choice options... Sardine ravioli ? Really ? well that's what my wife ordered and was very good first on the pallet then fishy on the finish... ewwww. Honestly for Michelin star was good but not remarkable. I will not pull them down on the food quality because I am pissed off at them... For service in all honesty our wait staff was wonderful! and our Sommellier was very helpful and attentive throughout our night. Can't beat the view! Beautiful restaurant, and amazing view of the Colosseum. Food was pretty good, but not quite worth the price. Went with a group of three couples. They were very accommodating by providing separate checks for each couple, as well as splitting and plating appetizers separately. We could've done a 6 course tasting menu for 125 euro, but we opted to order a la carte. Entrees are priced up to 90 euro. The menus provided for the ladies do not have prices on them, so be aware of this if you're trying to stick to a budget.The best thing served that night was the amuse bouche which was free! Salmon tartar over a potato and celery puree, simply divine. Of the six of us three ordered beef which was ok, definitely not worthy of the 90 euro price. I had a roulade of sea bass that was beautiful to look at. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing memorable either. My husband ordered a cocktail (Maker's Mark and ginger ale). The bourbon was listed at 27 euro on the menu. I was surprised however that he was charged an additional 7 euro for the ginger ale! Each couple was charged for 2 bottles of water (not surprising). All in all, a great experience. Not the best meal we had in Italy, but surely the most expensive. I would recommend going in for a drink and a snack in the evening if possible. Take advantage of the view, but go somewhere else for your main meal. Perfectly 5 stars... this restaurant has incredible food and serves like a real Michelin star restaurant. The view is obstructed because of scaffolding on the colosseum but the food and service more than make up for it. From the moment you step into the hotel, you feel like you had a wonderful experience. A definite must for Rome. Enjoy!! read more
