Ai PIani is absolutely fantastic if you love seafood, love raw fish and love an adventure. 1. Ambiance - A great location with outdoor seating and nice elegant indoor seating. This is a very sumptuous ambiance that is both formal and smart casual. Very comfortable and relaxing! 2. Food - Ahh, Start - first when you arrive, they will offer you something to drink and they recommended sparkling wine or prosecco which is just like champagne. Nice way to start the culinary experience. Bread - They start you off with Carta da Musica, which literally translated is Music Sheet. It is a thin bread very crispy and a Sardinian specialty. Very tasty! Appetizer - We had a special chef recommendation of Crudo Misto which is a mix of raw fish like langoustine, shrimp and a white fish. Very, very tasty and simple. If you like sushi, you would like this very much. We also had the Moscardini, small baby octopus and Fried Alici, small sardines that taste very nice. The texture and the light taste is great. The meal- Spigola al sale - Sea Bass baked in Salt, absolutely perfect baked fish, flaky and tender. You don't taste the salt at all, it just keeps the moisture in. Astice alla catalana - Lobster Catalan which is cooked Lobster mixed in with I am not sur what, but if you love seafood, you will love this. If you are ready for a treat, and love to try things, check this place out. It is fantastic!

For appetizers, we had the Roman style artichokes and the parmigiana di melanzane. My family and I devoured each appetizer within minutes. For my main course, I got the Spaghetti All'amatriciana. I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best pasta dish I have ever had. Our waiter was also fantastic; he was hilarious and such a pleasure to speak with. This was the food highlight of my trip to Rome -- if I ever visit again, I will definitely come back to this restaurant!

After much walking (and a lot of traffic), we were resigned to dine somewhere close to the hotel, and Ambasciata d'Abruzzo was the perfect discovery. My maternal family is originally from the Abruzzo region (L'Aquila), so I wanted a taste of "home" before returning to the U.S. Given that it was a Tuesday evening, we had the added benefit of a quiet dining room setting to suit our fatigued but soulful mood. We began with the artichoke salad and sauteed clams, both of which were exquisite. The artichokes were perfectly cooked, a welcome variation of the typically marinated version we see in the States. The clams and broth were pure savory comfort on a December evening. For the main and second courses we had the Cacio e Pepe and the Sea Bass Fillet with Lemon. This was a delicious combination, with the pasta perfectly al dente and the fish gently soaked in a bath of butter. We added a side of broccolini, and paired it all with a bottle of 2020 Marina Cvetic Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Riserva (red), as suggested by our exceptional waiter Domenico. A beautiful marriage! We finished with a lovely sorbetto of gelato of lemon and dark chocolate, and two limoncello. Returning to the hotel perfectly satisfied yet not overindulged, we felt compelled to spread the good news to others inclined to dine in Parioli. Please look no further than Ambasciata d'Abruzzo and ask for Domenico as your gracious host, you will be forever grateful!
