We're repeat customers at Palacio and have had an outstanding experience every time. Food, service, ambience, never disappoint. Located in a quieter part in the edge of downtown, parking is usually pretty easy to find on-Street, and it's a few steps over to shops. The outdoor patio is secluded and quiet, and the indoors offers plenty of seating in a historic setting that's bright and fresh. On the food side, Palacio cooks their red Chile for over 8 hours, making it in my opinion one of the best and most flavorful in Santa Fe. Most other places I get Christmas style, but here, the red Chile is just perfect. On this trip, we had a smothered breakfast burrito and enchiladas suizas. Both were perfectly cooked, served hot, and resulted in another visit of what we expected from Palacio - great food and friendly service in what had quickly become our favorite Santa Fe restaurant.

I really liked it here. The bar is a good fit for solo diners. Excellent food and friendly, accommodating staff.

We came across Palacio Cafe after The Shed told us their waiting list was 2.5 hours right after they opened. No thanks! Glad we kept walking! The staff at Palacio Cafe were so kind and welcoming. It the made our meal even more special! We had chips and salsa, green chili stew, and a combo plate. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Skip the outrageous long lines of the other places and come here!

A bit disappointed. Service wasn't as attentive as expected (re: coffee refills, checking in). Pancakes were doughy and under-done. Flies visible and annoying at table. Probably won't be back.

Omelette, Christmas style

Great local spot to grab some local Santa Fe breakfast. I ordered a traditional breakfast with eggs over medium, bacon and potatoes. However, something must've gotten lost in the translation because I was served an omelette, Christmas style (meaning both red and green chilies, and it was simply delectable service was outstanding other than the confusion on my breakfast order, which the the server apologized multiple times for messing up my breakfast, but at the end of the day, it was actually a blessing because what I received was much better than what I ordered Ambience wise... The Restaurant was not that busy but had a nice quiet vibe to it. Made for a very enjoyable lazy morning. Coffee was standard fare and very enjoyable to go with my breakfast. My dining companion went a more healthy route with granola and yogurt and said everything was very tasty

Good experience. We were seated immediately for late lunch. The food came promptly and was really hot. We had a chicken burrito with Christmas sauce. We also had the salmon fruit salad. Both dishes were good. Tres leches cake was very relaxing.

We found this little gem from some locals in Santa Fe. It is warm, good authentic NM food, friendly service, excellent drinks. We went twice during our visit! The space is cozy and comfy.

Friendly service and delicious food in the heart of Santa Fe. We ordered a variety of different things from the menu. I got the Enchilada suizas, which was the special for the day, my boyfriend got the Chile Relleno Plate, and others got the frito pie, enchiladas, or a salad. Mine came with refried beans and others came with pinto beans. Both were good but I liked the refried beans the best. Portions were pretty big, some people shared, some had leftovers, and those of us that finished our plates left very full. There were different areas to sit including a couple rooms and a back patio. We were in the side room that was a little more plain, but the other room really had that New Mexico feel and vibe. We came for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and they were easily able to accommodate our group of 7.

So far, this is the best Mexican cuisine in New Mexico in my limited NM dining experience. My spouse and I had lunch and ordered the Chef Salad and the Enchilada Plate with baked chicken. The Chef Salad was made with fresh ingredients and was a nice, ample portion. The Enchiladas were crafted with yellow corn tortillas filled with baked chicken, cheddar cheese, and onions, all generously topped with a rich red chile sauce. Absolutely delicious! The restaurant's decor was authentic and unique, fitting perfectly with its location in an artist town. The restrooms were clean, and the service was excellent. A wonderful find!

This place is delicious and adorable We came after church it's right next to it I ordered the special suiza enchilada with chicken green chili carmelized onions and avocado and rice and beans Our table ordered frito pie and green chili burger The margaritas are top notch

Green chile beef stew
Anna H.

Do NOT sleep on the beef green chile stew - omg! A warm tortilla on the side, so so delicious! A little bit of a bite due to the green chile. The salad as well as chips, salsa, and guacamole were excellent. The service was wonderful and the ambiance was relaxed while being lively. The colors of the cafe are beautiful yellows, reds, blues. We felt very welcomed and our drinks arrived quickly. Quality of the food is excellent.

My iced latte was also divine. They had some really good looking desserts too but I didn't leave room for those. This was definitely one of my favorite lunch places in Santa Fe. Sooo good!!

There is plenty of seating in the room next door, and it appears they may be expanding that room. In the main room, you walk up to the counter and order, then your food is brought out to you. We got sandwiches and bowls and the food was great. Fresh and healthy. I also got some kind of maple cream cold brew; I did have to ask for more maple flavor because I wanted my drink a bit sweeter, and the barista graciously added it without charging extra. They seemed to have interesting pastries and bagels, and the shop is also a market with fancy snacks and other provisions. I was tempted to take home a unique chocolate bar or jam, or something savory like a wacky bag of popcorn, but we were maxed out on snacks at our Airbnb, so I refrained. They had a wide selection of this kind of stuff. All in all, it was the perfect spot to grab lunch in the late afternoon while cruising around the Plaza on a hot day. The service was friendly, and so were the other customers!

I was so glad I picked Sage Bakehouse because the chill, relaxing (but still really polite and cool staff) were super awesome! Having awesome freshly baked bakeries also topped my experiences there! We came in here on our last day visiting Santa Fe in the summer and I'm so glad we did, as it was on my list of things to try after perusing Yelp for notables. I had a scrumptious white bean-roasted red pepper-melted cheese tartine on delicious, fresh house-made bread topped with a balsamic glaze. I think it was one of the better dishes I had while in town. It was served with an array of olives on the plate. So good! They were out of the egg salad sandwich by the time we arrived, which was something a family member wanted to try, but they ordered an avocado toast instead. Also great and served with olives. The service was fast and thoughtful. Order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. We found a great shaded spot outside for the five of us with a view facing the bustling bakery inside. Many people brought their bikes or dogs (allowed outside only) and met up with friends to eat and chat. At one point a server brought out an order of bread that we did not order, but he left it with us anyway, free of charge. So glad we got to try Sage Bakehouse and I'd definitely visit several more times when in the area!

It's ideally situated right on the Santa Fe River just a few blocks from the plaza and the state capitol, featuring tasty and reasonably priced food, excellent service, and a casual ambiance. The restaurant offers a bright, comfortable indoor setup as well as nice outdoor seating options -- though we chose to sit inside. Even though we arrived for a late lunch right as they were trying to wind down the kitchen to close up shop, the service was prompt, welcoming, and entirely friendly, which we really appreciated. I had the Carne Adovada plate ($17), a generous portion of slow-roasted, perfectly tender pork served in a signature red chile marinade alongside a side of beans and rice and a a handful of corn or flour tortillas. It was an excellent and incredibly satisfying dish. My dining companion opted for the Salmon Tacos ($17), with three street tacos filled with grilled salmon, pico de gallo, cabbage, cheese, and avocado sauce, which she found filling and tasty. Great food, solid portion sizes, great service, and a wonderful location to recharge after a long drive into Santa Fe. PRO TIP: Pantry Rio doesn't have its own parking lot, but don't let that deter you -- there is plenty of convenient on-street metered parking available right along Alameda Street or nearby side streets. Use the ParkMobile app or the pay-by-plate meters: $2/hour for the first two hours, then $3/hour thereafter. The parking meters are enforced Monday through Saturday from 8 AM to 6 PM; parking is free all day on Sunday.
