I chose Palace to celebrate my birthday and what should have been a special night turned into a huge disappointment. Less than an hour before the show, I received a cancellation notice while I was already on my way. At that point, reservations had been made, plans were set, and there was virtually no time to make alternative arrangements. I understand that unexpected situations happen, but canceling an event with such little notice shows a complete lack of consideration for your customers. People plan birthdays, celebrations, and nights out around these shows. What I expected to be the highlight of my birthday ended up being a frustrating and disappointing experience. We didn't want the house mimosas and ordered A bottle of champagne for a hundred dollars, which is a good deal. The waiter said everything on the menu was a eighteen dollars, but didn't say that with eighteen dollars plus the sixty dollar bunch charge for the mimosas that we didn't want. The whole bill for 2 for breakfast. That was mediocre.It was three hundred and fifty dollars plus about a hundred dollars and tips that we left. Sadly, i've seen the show too many times and the greed, it's typical of miami. Next time, I watch the entertainers from across the street and skip the over price breakfast. Palace Bar was such a fun stop for our bachelorette night after dinner. We went on a Saturday and the place was popping -- we snagged the last table available, which already felt like a win. Everything was super easy and accommodating. When we asked for more chairs, they brought them out right away for the girls. The vibes were immaculate from start to finish. The music was on point, the drag queens absolutely crushed it with their performances, and the energy in the room was unreal. Midway through the night, they started a line dance that went around the entire bar, which was such a highlight and got everyone involved. From comedic to extravagant performances. No one missed a beat. You can tell they put work in their routines and it shows in many ways. People were also lined up outside and enjoying every bit as well. The bottomless mimosas were pretty awesome. They made sure our glasses weren't sitting low or empty. My only complaint was the food. Not that it was bad or anything but when we got our meals it was towards the end and it wasn't too warm. It was a bit cold. Flavor wise it was great. Not much salt or pepper to the steak, but the chimichurri helped. The steak and eggs were cooked pretty perfect. Medium as asked. Potatoes could use a little seasoning. We made our way to the bar and had to flag down the "bartender," who simply nodded for us to sit. I'm not sure if it was a language barrier or just a lack of interest, but when we asked about the menu and drink specials, Andrés (the "bartender") only pointed at a QR code, muttered "menu," and walked back to the corner to continue chatting with his coworker. We flagged him down again to order an appetizer. Then I asked--again--about the drink specials. Once more, he just pointed at the QR code. So I asked, "Can you tell me the drink specials?" He responded with the nastiest attitude: "YOU need to read the menu!" and walked away yet again. We ended up leaving right as the show started--the bar was completely empty, and now we know why. We were seated off to the side, completely out of view of the show -- which is one of the main reasons people come here. Service was frustratingly slow: over the course of 2+ hours, our glasses were only refilled five times, and that was after repeatedly flagging someone down. If you're vegetarian, don't expect much from the brunch menu -- unless you eat eggs, your only option is an açaí bowl. For the price they charge, it's disappointing that the food, experience, and hospitality don't even come close to what places like R House in Wynwood deliver. The entire center aisle where the show actually happens is 100% reserved for the "woo girls" in sashes and penis straws. The rest of us? Shoved into side tables around a corner with zero view, or worse -- straight-up baking in the Florida sun like forgotten rotisserie chickens. Five queens performed. Two of them? Absolute fire -- serving face, lip-syncing for their lives, and clearly the only ones who showed up to work. The other three? Mostly just wandering around collecting tips like it was their full-time job. Honey, I paid for entertainment, not an extended GoFundMe with jazz hands. The mimosas? More like "mimo-sas." My boyfriend and I are certified lightweights and we barely caught a whisper of a buzz. At that price point, I expected to feel something besides regret. The only saving grace? I ordered a mojito, nothing fancy and assuming they use well rum unless otherwise specified. Bartender made the drink, then asked if I had cash it would be $24. I said I had $22 and he said "okay".
