I had a couple of alterations done here: shortened the sleeves of my suit jacket, and had another suit pants tapered and hemmed. Pak is friendly and polite. The price is reasonable - neither very cheap nor ridiculously expensive. You can expect ~$100 for the alterations I did. I tried another tailor that does the pants for a little bit cheaper but I'm satisfied with the work Pak has done. He seems to have good relationships with returning customers, which is always a good sign. I recommend this place. read more

I brought 3 pairs of pants and a dress to Pak for tailoring. Two of the pants were regular hem. I asked for the original hem for one pair of jeans. He said he could do it, no problem. Before I left he confirmed with me that only the jeans were original hem. I said yes. I picked up all my clothes the next weekend and the jeans did not have the original hem. When I asked him about it he said that I did not ask for the original hem. When I questioned him on this he said, "I am NEVER wrong. You did not ask for original hem.' He said that the original hem costs more -but the invoice was not itemized so there was no way to know what I paid for each item. He stuck with his story that he was never wrong regardless of what I said. I asked to be reimbursed and he said no. So much for the customer always being right. I would never go here again. I am disappointed about the jeans, but I am more disappointed in his attitude when confronted with an issue. He was not sorry. He did not care about my experience. He would barely look me in the eye. I brought a new dress to wear to work to be altered by him. He charged me $60 to bring in the sides. It seemed pricey, but I thought maybe it's because he provides a great quality. When I picked it up I noticed how uneven the dress was. The dress was about two inches too big on only one side and there were threads hanging out from everywhere. I asked him to fix it. I picked up the dress ten days later. There was about one more inch of fabric on one side. The bottom of the dress connects to the rest of the dress at the hips and doesn't lay flat because there's more fabric on one side. Not to mention the inside edges of the dress are fraying. Instead of bringing in the dress, he cut off the fabric that made the dress too big. I brought the dress back and he initially had the nerve to tell me that it wasn't his work, and I must have brought the dress to someone else. I reminded him that I picked-up the dress 15 minutes ago, and I would call the police. He told me that when dresses are altered the inside edges are never sewn and the dresses are always cut. I told him I have at least thirty other dresses that were altered and can show him that no other tailor does that. And I brought up the fact that the fraying was so bad in areas that if I brought it to the dry cleaners, it would fall apart. He told me he wasn't going to fix it. I told him I would go to another tailor and get a second opinion on whether the dress should fray. The other tailor told me he would charge me twenty dollars to fix the fraying and that it needed to be fixed. I went back to this tailor and told him he should pay to fix this dress. He yelled at me and told me to bring it back so he can fix it. I told him I couldn't do that since I already brought it back, and he told me the fraying was normal - I paid a lot of money for the dress it's now falling apart. He gave me the twenty dollars to fix the dress, which was the right thing to do. I wouldn't recommend this tailor. He took a brand new dress, charged me well over market price and damaged it. read more

I asked him to shorten a ball gown for me. He charged 200$ and I thought it was expensive but at least he would do a good job. I was wrong. He cut the fabric all crooked and sewed it terribly. He ruined my dress and when I tried to confront him and ask for at least an apology he screamed at me. read more

Terrible, stay away! He will ruin a pair of pants when doing basic tailoring/shortening and then lie about it rather than admit to making a mistake. He will then try using the language barrier to dismiss you. Stay away! There are plenty of better tailors in the area. read more

My family has been using Pak's tailor for years now. He has helped us with jobs ranging from shortening the strap of a purse or hemming pants and jeans, to re-tailoring a 20-year-old suit to fit properly. He's fast and efficient (and can usually accommodate you if you're in a rush). He's friendly, and recognizes us as regulars when we walk into the store-even though we don't come in more than a couple of times a year. He seems knowledgeable and can suggest alterations that may not have occurred to you. He seems to run the place on his own, and is always busy, but never makes you feel as though you're interrupting. We've always been happy with the results, you generally can't tell the items have been altered and they always fit better once he's finished with them. I highly recommend this place! read more

My sister and I both took bridesmaids dresses here to be altered. Although my dress came out ok, her dress just did not fall right around the hip area. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't as good as it could have been. Needless to say, when we pointed this out to Pak, he wasn't so receptive to fixing it and kept saying "it is fine, it will stretch", which is not exactly what she wanted to hear. Also, he clearly did not press either of the dresses and they were both very wrinkled, which also contributed to the way the dress looked when she put it on. When we asked him to press out a few places, he did so hurriedly without any care for the dress. I didn't even bother asking him to press my dress. My sister ended up taking her dress to another tailor to get it fixed quickly before the wedding the next weekend. Given the great reviews, we were disappointed in the service. read more

I unfortunately had a poor experience with Mr. Pak. I took in a white eyelet dress that needed alteration in three places which I paid him $70. He did two repairs, but missed the repair on the right side of the dress, that is, running a straight seam about 6 inches from mid-thigh to the hem. When I returned it to him, with HIS PINS STILL IN THE DRESS saying that he missed that alteration, he started shaking his head, saying no, no, no and refused to look me in the eye. I was astonished! I responded that he just missed it and would he please finish the job. He turned away from me and wouldn't answer me! And all of a sudden he couldn't seem to speak English. It was the most bewildering response I have ever received from any service person. Strange man. read more
