Let me start by saying, I NEVER post reviews, but this feels like a review worth sharing. I spent $400 on alternations for a dress for my sister in law's wedding. I got a text on a Monday the dress was ready (a few days early), I was on my way to a work trip so was unable to pick up the dress until that Friday. I decided to try the dress on before leaving and the girl at the front desk told me all the tailors were on lunch break so I would have to wait if I found an issue. I decided to try the dress on anyway because I didn't want to get home and have an issue. The first thing I noticed was my dress was not steamed AT ALL. $400 on alternations and the dress is a wrinkled mess. Then I paid for THREE lingerie straps and none of them were in the dress. I told the girl at the front desk that this was not the service I paid for and she just looked at me like I had 10 heads and said I can't do anything the tailors are all on lunch. Not even so much as an "I'm sorry, this is the not the value we aim to provide our clients...." Nothing! Finally the woman who did the fitting with me came back from her lunch break and I told her I came to pick up the dress but it wasn't ready. She looked at the dress and asked the girl at the front who did the alterations clearly realizing they did a terrible job. She told me they would fix the dress within 2 hours and to come back. They did fix the dress, but by no means was the quality of the work worth $400 and the experience certainly wasn't either. The dress still wasn't steamed properly and after all was said and done I had I feel like they should have given me a discount. When I finally left the front desk girl told me to have a good day. Still never once apologized for my experience or having to wait or for any of it. The only person who acknowledged there had been an issue was the woman that helped with the fitting. Update: Alts reached out and made good on the service by issuing a partial refund. I appreciate their willingness to address the issue and take responsibility. I'd recommend giving yourself ample time before the event to ensure everything is aligned with your expectations. Their follow-through shows they care about making things right. read more

I had 4 items to alter. 2 jackets, a pair of trouser, and a knitted jacket/cardigan. The jackets were both two big and one needed shoulder pads to improve the lines. All items were executed perfectly. The knitted jacket needed the sleeves shortened and to do that and keep the trim the jacket needed to be sent to a knit specialist. Again perfectly executed. The trousers were the simplest job but as they were very special the tailoring needed to be flawless. The whole endeavor was worth every penny. ALT is not your average dry cleaner tailor. If you have anything special that needs a real professional then I can't recommend them enough. Booking is easy and the changing rooms are comfortable and well lit. I picked and paid a premium for Alts because they were so highly rated and reviewed, but so far I have had the worst experience ever. I brought two jumpsuits to them to be altered, one of which I wanted to use as my wedding "dress." The initial consult went fine, but then at my first return appointment, I found out that they had accidentally cut my wedding suit too short (!) because apparently "the consultant that helps you may not be the person who works on your dress." Not only did they then blow it over and say they'll fix it with nary an apology for the mistake, but then at the second return appointment to go over the fix options, they weren't ready to show us anything and asked us reschedule! They tried to cite the "long holiday weekend" for the mixup, but my first appointment was on the 16th and second was the 27th... But also, why not just pick up the phone in advance to let us know? Alts is turning what is supposed to be one of the happiest moments of my life into a stressful nightmare. Still waiting on my third return appointment for them to even attempt to redeem themselves but honestly, based on communication and organization alone, would not recommend to my worst enemy. read more

Yaser worked magic on several pieces of clothing that were gathering dust in my closet because they didn't fit well around my shoulders. He did an incredible job!!! The first time I tried on one of the dresses, it fit me perfectly, and I even a photo before heading out to dinner. He's also exceptionally skilled with jackets. He fixed a hole in my jacket in just 1 minute, and now it looks as good as new. It's really hard to find a good tailor. If he becomes too popular, I'm not sure where else I'd go. read more
