A great Chicago chain with good food and a great atmosphere. The location rotates the fish in its tank and has a magician or balloon guy that comes in on Fridays for the kids. Apart from the pizza, the place serves great sandwiches and appetizers. I usually just get pepperoni but tried Pete's Favorite this time. It comes with has italian beef, green peppers, and jalapeños - great flavor combination and wasn't spicy. The place is clean and servers are friendly.

I went on a Friday night with my wife and it was pretty crowded. I did call first, and the person I talked to said, come on in, with only two we'll get you seated right away. He did, so score a point for fast seating without a reservation. The place is lively, with TVs at just about every angle, so I got to see March Madness ( that's college basketball in case you don't follow sports). The menu is pretty big, so there is a lot to choose from. I got a 16" cheese/sausage pizza, and my wife got a chicken grill sandwich and a side of Vesuvio potatoes. The order didn't take long, and the server was very nice. I had a $40 certificate that I purchased from Clipp. She took the certificate right away. Now, the food...wife liked her sandwich. Big enough to take some home. My pizza was okay, but needed extra oregano on it. Good crust, good cheese, but the sauce was a tad weak. Hence, 4 outta 5 stars. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I will say the pizza tasted better the second day after being reheated in our air fryer. I will return and order something else from the menu and let my son eat the pizza (he really liked it).

I love Paisans, the Dragon wings are ALWAYS a winner. The sweet and spicy, with the sauce to wing ratio is perfect. Also topped with green onions. Yummm. I do have to say, when it's really busy, service tends to suffer in the kitchen. The food times can get really long. Pizza is average to good. Caesar wrap is yummy, their crouton in there are light, buttery and crispy which is great for me, especially not liking super hard things to bite through. I'm bummed they no longer have their apple beggars purse because that was delightfully delicious, but they have many other housemate desserts!

    Crazy bananas dessert

The crazy bananas dessert is what I go for, it's nothing like I've ever tasted! And great service!

Came for a car show. The pizza is AMAZING. The crust is a combo flour cheese and it is delicious. Order the Supercharged with caramelized crust. There are several locations so I hope to hit them all. Peetie is super nice. The staff is great too.

I'm not super picky with pizza but I recommend you skipping this Sicilian style pizza from Paisans. They are very skimpy with the toppings, the dough underneath is soggy, and the tomato sauce is overly sweet. I was hoping for some crunch in the crust but everything is one single texture- soft. The wings were ok- better than the pizza but under seasoned in my opinion and dripping in oil. Service is also very mid. There are way better Italian places around the area.

Their new Supercharged pizza- to die for!!!

Recent price increases nearly south price of their pizza. $3.75 per topping on a large? Sorry, rip off someone else.

The bartender (I didn't catch his name, but had brown hair and facial hair was incredibly rude and disrespectful. I was waiting patiently to be served - not saying a word - and finally he came by me and raised his voice to me in a disrespectful tone saying that he is not serving me because he came by me twice and I wasn't paying attention. So, I waved to the other bartender who was female and she politely served me. I also found out that same male bartender kicked out two other friends of my friend I was with for no reason. Plus, when I reconciled my receipts the next day, I discovered that in my "not paying attention," they handed me two other receipts to sign which totaled about $80.00. (At the time, I thought maybe they were just helping each other out with ringing my order up) There's NO way I ordered that much, because it was SO crowded, I couldn't get served more than once, so that's why we left. So, basically I was robbed $80.00, because I wasn't "paying attention." Both receipts say "Potter's Place," even though we were upstairs at Two-Nine, and that's what it says on my credit card statement. Potter's Place was closed downstairs. I have one receipt that makes sense to what I normally order that says "Two-Nine". So on my credit card statement, I have one charge that says "Two-Nine," then two that say "Potter's Place." They scammed me. NEVER again.

The venue was very nice at the top of a hotel with a very nice view of Naperville and the Riverwalk. Let's start with my favorite dishes. The mahi mahi ceviche, braised beef, and octopus dish was fantastic. The braised beef was cooked perfectly, ceviche was popping with flavor and the octopus was very fresh. We did get the skirt steak and branzino. The skirt steak was a little bit overcooked to my liking. The Branzino was perfectly cooked and crispy but the portion was small.. But the best thing was that dessert. We had some type of pudding cake that was soaked in eggnog with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on it. It was fantastic. Best dessert in a long time. Definitely will be hitting this place up again

Not one miss. The empanadas were perfectly crisp and packed with flavor, the shrimp tacos were fresh and balanced, the hanger steak was cooked exactly right, and the pork shank was fall-apart tender and easily one of the best dishes we've had in a long time. The cocktails were just as good as the food, which says a lot. You can tell there's real attention to detail across the whole menu. On top of that, the space itself is beautiful. Really unique interior, great atmosphere, and an awesome view right over the river that makes the whole experience feel even more special. It's rare to go somewhere where the food, drinks, and atmosphere all hit this level. Santa Cielo absolutely delivered. One of the best dining experiences we've had in the suburbs and we'll definitely be back.

We went for a date night and it was honestly such an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. It is lively and has a great energy, but it is not overwhelming or too crazy, which makes it perfect for a date night. You can actually talk, relax, and enjoy your time together, which is exactly what we were looking for. We ordered a mix of things and everything was so good. The BBQ platter with ribs, pulled chicken, mac and cheese, fries, and toast was packed with flavor and perfect for sharing. The chicken dish with mashed potatoes and greens was also amazing and really well done. We also got dessert and it was the perfect sweet ending to the night. The service was great the entire time. Our server was especially attentive and funny, which made the experience even better and added such a fun, personal touch to the night. Overall this is such a great spot and definitely one we will keep coming back to. THE USUAL SUSPECTS…read more This dive bar in Lisle is a haven for townies, which is certainly a vibe. Maple Ave Pub is, unsurprisingly, on Maple Ave just west of Route 53 in the western suburbs of Chicago. I'd estimate I've stopped here close to a dozen times, although a handful of those instances I neglected to check-in on Yelp for fear of my wife seeing it ("I thought you were coming straight home from work....") An older woman's been behind the counter seemingly every time, taking drink orders and making small talk. She's friendly--moreso with the locals than with me--and I'll occasionally get called 'hun', 'sweetie', etc, which is endearing. I got way better service from the hot tattooed barkeeps at Brauer House in Lombard, however. To be perfectly honest, I've never eaten anything here. The wings look like they might pass muster, though there's a few items that raise an eyebrow (clam chowder at a dive bar? thanks, I'll pass). Possum Pub in Melrose Park had surprisingly good food, and it was a major dive, so perhaps I ought to give the grub here a shot sometime. They have several pool tables, a Big Buck Hunter, Golden Tee, dart board, boxing machine, and pair of pinball machines; as of 6/19/24 they've got a Star Trek premium (Stern, 2013) and JAWS (Stern, 2024). In the past they had Oktoberfest (American Pinball, 2018), Fish Tales (Williams, 1992), and a stunning Circus Voltaire (Bally, 1997). Last week, the A/C wasn't working so this place was SWELTERING on one of the hottest days of the year. Normally I stick around for a couple pints and 2-3 games of pinball, but it was so toasty inside (worse than outside) I only played 1 game and skipped the beer completely. There were no fans on, either. * TL;DR * Dive bars are all well and good, but maybe it's time I found a new spot to hit up for a cheap domestic pint. Over the years I've gotten a handful of looks that can be described as quizzical at best, and dirty at worst. I've been ignored by the bartender numerous times--with cash in hand, mind you--while she's chatting away with regulars, as I'm standing there absolutely parched. I want to like Maple Ave Pub, but the feeling doesn't seem mutual. If it weren't for the pinball tables, I probably wouldn't return.
