Yesterday I went to Paisans pizzeria in Lisle for lunch with friends from work. It was the first time I've been there in years and I was glad we went there afterwards, instead of another choice we had. I had a delicious Cobb salad and the best service by our server, Tony. He was so attentive, and friendly, and he even made wonderful meal recommendations for my friends that asked. Atmosphere was nice, too. We will be back. read more

We decided to come here since the food at the Brookfield location was solid. The service was like meh. Our server Victor was gone half the time. However, when I asked for a water refill or a new plate, he got it. I would say average but not above average service. We ordered dragon fries, baked ziti, and supreme pizza with the caramelized crust. Overall this is like a 3. 3 for me is a one and done. I wanted to try a new pizza place but this was a disappointment. -dragon fries 5 - this was good. The sauce is tangy with some spice. It's not super spicy but this would go well on wings. -baked ziti 2 - I had a lot of pasta and this one was one of the worst. The noodles tasted a bit too rubbery, it should be softer. The sauce had no flavor. -supreme pizza 3 - maybe I should have gotten the tavern style because the supercharged pizza tasted doughy and kind of bland. A great Chicago chain with good food and a great atmosphere. The location rotates the fish in its tank and has a magician or balloon guy that comes in on Fridays for the kids. Apart from the pizza, the place serves great sandwiches and appetizers. I usually just get pepperoni but tried Pete's Favorite this time. Pizza wasnt ready and got a free coke and cookie for waiting as they gave my pizza to somebody else. If they are booked at the restaurant they should NOT take any more orders. Than they told to go sit in my car to wait which I thought was very RUDE. I wasted my car gas by waiting as it cold. I went on a Friday night with my wife and it was pretty crowded. I did call first, and the person I talked to said, come on in, with only two we'll get you seated right away. He did, so score a point for fast seating without a reservation. The place is lively, with TVs at just about every angle, so I got to see March Madness ( that's college basketball in case you don't follow sports). The menu is pretty big, so there is a lot to choose from. I got a 16" cheese/sausage pizza, and my wife got a chicken grill sandwich and a side of Vesuvio potatoes. The order didn't take long, and the server was very nice. I had a $40 certificate that I purchased from Clipp. She took the certificate right away. Now, the food...wife liked her sandwich. Big enough to take some home. My pizza was okay, but needed extra oregano on it. Good crust, good cheese, but the sauce was a tad weak. Hence, 4 outta 5 stars. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I will say the pizza tasted better the second day after being reheated in our air fryer. I will return and order something else from the menu and let my son eat the pizza (he really liked it). read more

Paisans is my family's favorite pizza restaurant in DuPage County. We've become regulars at the restaurant and love the pizza, the atmosphere, and staff of Paisans. We typically opt for the original crust pizza. The pizza has a sweet sauce that I love. The cheese is very good. The crust is very good. We've ordered the pizza with sausage, sausage and green pepper; pepperoni; and the veggie special. Lately, the pepperoni has become the family favorite. The veggie toppings on Paisans pizza are notable for being fresher than what you get at most pizzerias. The veggie pieces are more generous cuts than you get at most pizzerias. read more

Ordered Sausage and extra cheese on an extra thin crust extra crispy pizza. Crust was soggy and almost rubbery near the middle. Cheese was distributed unevenly with the edges dry and the center way too much cheese. Boneless wings were nuggets. Very disappointing in the pizza. read more

I love Paisans, the Dragon wings are ALWAYS a winner. The sweet and spicy, with the sauce to wing ratio is perfect. Also topped with green onions. Yummm. I do have to say, when it's really busy, service tends to suffer in the kitchen. The food times can get really long. Pizza is average to good. Caesar wrap is yummy, their crouton in there are light, buttery and crispy which is great for me, especially not liking super hard things to bite through. I'm bummed they no longer have their apple beggars purse because that was delightfully delicious, but they have many other housemate desserts! read more

We came here tonight for a car show. We decided to dine here as hubby wanted to try out their food. Well it was excellent!! Sometimes you find a place by a total fluke and tonight was it!! We arrived early and hubby wanted to sit by their garage door windows out in front. It was a perfect day for this! Hubby could see all the cars pulling up and sit and enjoy his pizza and beer. They have this "Detroit style" pizza which was like nothing I've had before. It was phenomenal! It had this caramelized crust which was to die for!! For me anything with burnt cheese on it was fantastic! Very unique menu lots and lots and amazing choices. I can say enough about it you just have to come check it out! Not sure if they do the car shows every Thursday night in the summers or what but we may need to make this our new stop for sure!! read more

I'm not super picky with pizza but I recommend you skipping this Sicilian style pizza from Paisans. They are very skimpy with the toppings, the dough underneath is soggy, and the tomato sauce is overly sweet. I was hoping for some crunch in the crust but everything is one single texture- soft. The wings were ok- better than the pizza but under seasoned in my opinion and dripping in oil. Service is also very mid. There are way better Italian places around the area. read more

Paisans is a great place to meet up with a group of friends. There is ample seating inside. We were able to be seated right away on a Monday evening. I ended up ordering the Spaghetti & Meatballs for my entree with a side salad. To add a soup or salad to a meal, it's $1. The meal itself wasn't anything special. The meatballs were almost a little mushy, but still good. I got a dirty martini and thought it was decent. I can't speak for the pizza, but it did seem like other parties around us ordered pizza! read more

OK THESE NACHOS ARE AMAZING. I'm very picky on my nachos and when I tell you these were up to my nacho loving standards - exceeded all my expectations- I was definitely not expecting to be writing this review on these nachos but I was blown away from how amazing these nachos taste! The chips were perfect - not too hard, crunchy and sturdy enough to hold the ingredients, the nacho cheese!!!! Ummm I don't know what you guys are putting on this cheese but it's addicting! Topped with the jalapeños and the sour cream!! AMAZING. 10/10 Best nachos I've had in such a long time. I will definitely be coming back for the nachos alone. I got mine without lettuce and meatless. A burger with Cheddar cheese, bacon, barbecue sauce, and crispy onions on a pretzel bun. When the burger was served, it had steak-like aroma. Even though it was heavy on the barbecue sauce, it was a tasty burger. The Parmesan kettle chips were good, too. I also tried some of my wife's food, grilled Calamari and sausage and mushroom pizza. They both rocked. And the icing on this experience cake was Adrian, our amazingly amazing server. He went beyond the abilities of mere mortal servers, and was very cognizant of our needs, especially my wife's dietary restrictions. If you get Adrian as your server, you'll be well taken care of. We ordered a 10" deep dish pizza with pineapple for carry-out. It was very busy on Saturday evening. For carry-out, you have to walk to the back counter for pick-up. Too much crust, but that's the nature of deep dish. They didn't skimp on the cheese! It was thick, chewy, and gooey. Perfect! The marinara sauce was plentiful and flavorful. We have lived in the area for a long time. Have seen the lisle location go through a few different 'lives'. We had been here several times since it opened as Paisans, always happy with the food and service. Fast forward to the past year. A gutted kitchen had us out a lot more often. We put Paisans into the 'eat out rotation', a little over a year ago and have probably come back almost weekly since. When its just the 2 of us, Jamison knows what to pour before we hit the bar stools. The food is always good, consistent. Service is great. The pizza and Italian entrees are straight out of Little Italy. The menu has something for everyone. Deserts are great too. I'm updating again! I haven't tried the pizza but the pasta is another story. I tried the spaghetti with meatballs and it was ok...there were two generous meat balls on top of some Al dente spaghetti but very little sauce...that was off putting. Tonight I tried the Chipotle Cream Shrimp Linguini and it was absolutely delicious! So indulgent, creamy, spicy and well seasoned chipotle sauce wrapped around perfectly cooked linguini and stuffed with juicy shrimp. This dish has a smoky taste from the addition of bacon. You have to try it and I don't usually lean towards a creamier sauce but this was a game changer, and who'd of thought! read more

Late in the evening? Forget it!! We have been to Paisan's at least every few months for years but after this last experience we have no problem crossing it off our list. We called around 9:10 on a Saturday night to make sure the kitchen was still open and we were told the kitchen was open until 10. We got into the bar and ordered a pitcher of beer around 9:20 and were suddenly rushed to get our food order in because the kitchen was already cleaning up the there were only a few other patrons who were finishing up. I told the bartender (who was our table server) that we specifically called to make sure we had plenty of time and they should not have told us 10:00. He said if someone came in of course they would honor the time and acted like we were the rude ones for questioning him! Right after receiving our pizza he told us it was last call and brought us another pitcher of beer. However, from that point on the manager and bartender stood at the end of the bar staring at us while we ate and talked. We saw finger tapping and even an eye roll! Like, what the heck--you rude, unprofessional weirdos! Needless to say we ate about half the pizza, packed the rest, left some beer behind and left vowing never to return! read more

I've ofter heard that the best food can be found in whole in the wall type places. I'd say this place exemplifies that idea. The place is made to look like a garage and has the feel of a loud bar. That being said, with it being owned by Italian immigrants the food is as authentic and delicious as you can get. They also have a very nice cocktail list, some speciality ones as well as the standards, and some very nice wine and beers. Our server was a bit aloof at first but as the meal progressed he warmed up. He could have been a tad more attentive but he was friendly enough and was over all a good server. For starters we had the tuscan bruschetta. Which is freshly toasted bread topped with roasted tomatoes, shaved parmesan and drizzled with a balsamic glaze. The crunchy bread was the perfect counter part to the sweet and savory fresh and soft toppings. Very tasty. For my meal I had the linguini arrabiata. Which is linguini served with arrabiata butter, plum tomatoes, garlic, basil, sautéed in white wine and sprinkled with crushed red peppers flakes. You have a choice of adding chicken, sausage or shrimp. I added shrimp. It was delicious. Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. The shrimp was plump and juicy, the pasta was satisfying. The level of spice was just right to be enjoyable. It also comes with garlic bread which was crunchy on top and soft on the bottom and full of garlic. Just right for a garlic lover like myself. For dessert we had the tiramisu. It comes served in a martini glass and has the consistency of bread pudding. It was creamy and delicious. A great way to end the meal. Prices are very reasonable.
