Nate is a MACHINE. This guy works flat out and isn't bound to holiday schedules which is very welcomed on my end. I've been dealing with family illness while trying to juggle works on my Mom's house. Nate responded to my initial query pretty much immediately - sent on New Year's Eve no less - and came round on New Year's Day to quote for the work. I was trying to organise multiple projects in the same room of the house: floor repair and refinishing, ceiling repair, painting. Nate was able to troubleshoot the ceiling on the spot, gave a reasonable quote for the work as well as suggesting an additional improvement (building shelves in the closet). He was able to start on that same day (yes, New Year's Day - Home Depot was open you know) which accelerated my schedule and was super helpful. He did extra bits for us just because he noticed them. Honestly, we have a lot of time for Nate. We really liked having him in the house. His schedule was slightly haphazard but it worked well for us! Our own schedules are completely unpredictable at the moment and somehow they just meshed perfectly. I had a small, but to me, gnarly drywall repair that I'd been putting off because, technically, I might be able to pull it off myself, but practically, in my heart I knew I was kidding myself. It's been a long time since I have dabbled in drywall and I wasn't that good at it anyway.   The repair was to a damaged 2" diameter of sheetrock where somebody had fallen in the bathroom and slammed into the toilet paper holder. Simply patching the holes in the sheetrock wasn't going to get it because the damage left nothing to reattach one end of the TP holder. I made a temporary fix by using a hollow wall fastener, but that makeshift answer was a bad one, The holder was hanging on by a thread and frequently came apart. Not good.   So I came to grips with the fact that I don't have the skillset or knowledge base to fix this properly. I started searching for people who could. One was Nathan from Paint Studio SF. I didn't interpret his text response to be a good solution. I contacted him to explain more fully the problem and why what I understood him to be suggesting wouldn't work. Also, frankly, I was thinking that Nathan was just a painter looking to make a little extra dabbling in drywall repair.   However, I sent Nathan pictures to show exactly what the job was and then we got together on the phone. As soon as Nathan and I started talking, I realized that he had a rock-solid plan to make the repair and really knew his stuff. I had reviewed just enough Youtube videos to know it was beyond my skillset, but did pick up methods and techniques. Nathan convinced me with the details of how and why he would approach the repair that he was the real deal.   Nathan gave me a very reasonable estimate for the work. He asked me when I wanted to do it. I said that it's not an emergency, so any time would be great. He says, "So how about tomorrow?" with "tomorrow" being Saturday. Well okay, then. Let's do it!   TL;DNR Nathan was meticulous and detail oriented. He did exactly what he said he would. And the repair turned out impeccable. Perfect. I hired Nathan to fix the ceiling in my bathroom after the drywall sagged due to water damage. Nathan was very knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to respond and come take a look at the damage within 24 hours. He gave me a very reasonable quote for the repair, especially compared to other places I got quotes from. He offered to replace the whole ceiling instead of just the damaged part, which I thought that was a good idea to give me peace of mind about any other water damage that might be there albeit not yet visible. He gave me an updated quote to replace the whole ceiling after the initial quote to repair (again a very reasonable one). He went above and beyond to not only fix the drywall, but also add some extra wooden beams to reinforce the ceiling from having further issues because the beams were slim and spaced out due to the older home build/structure style.
