While my manicurist was lovely, the manicure itself was sub-par. Based on my experience (and recently that of my sister's) I suspect that PAINT generally specializes more in gels and acrylics than natural nail health. The photos I included were taken the following morning after my $60 manicure. That said, I complained to mgmt and she offered a re-do. Great right?! I was booked with the same manicurist I had the 1st time (b/c I didn't think I needed to specify that I wouldn't want the same person) and she was a no show. I had an amazing experience at Paint Nail Bar that I went twice in one day. I am a person who never ever gets her nails done. Partially because I like paining them on my own and I work with my hands so they often chip quick. However, a treat myself type of weeekend prompted me to get my nails done. Wow! I made a reservation online, which was super easy. When I arrived, the staff were all friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere waking in was amazing; I knew right away i would be taken care of and pampered. They offered me a drink and showed me to the color selection. My nail tech was super nice and helpful. My nails feel nice, healthy, and refreshed. I did a Lickety-Split manicure in the morning, but had to go back in the afternoon to get my toes done because I absolutely was in love with my manicure and I felt it wasn't fair to my toes that they were left with no color. Gotta treat my toes too! I decided to pay the extra $5 for dazzle dry for my hand specifically because dazzle dry promises to last longer. Worth it! I've had my nails for about 2 weeks and they haven't chip. Their nail polish is also vegan and formaldehyde free which is a plus. I'm still on the fence about this place. Though I like the atmosphere, pedicure, clean and non toxic products scheduling is always painful. Not once have they ever seen me on time for my allotted appointment. Each time it's on average 20 minutes late. I think the best was 10 minutes late. I guess I should start coming 15 minutes late for my allotted time and all should be well. lol. I don't know why schools always such an issue at this place but it's quite annoying. When I booked my appointment here I was extremely hopeful after reading all the reviews... (I've been looking for someone who is as good as the lady I moved away from). From the beginning it went wrong... when I booked my appointment I was asked a myriad of questions to help assure they knew what to expect and I felt comfortable knowing I would get the service I was hoping for. Whelp, I was informed quickly after being seated for my manicure that whoever booked my appointment did not book it the correct way (EVEN though I was asked the same questions by the person who booked my appointment.... ) and the technician they booked me with did not have time for both my manicure and pedicure. Okay. I was slightly annoyed but, I know it happens. After much back and forth and TWO HOURS later (I've never had a manicure take that long) I finally was sent away with my manicure only and we rebooked the pedicure for a couple days later. After my last, less then stellar service, I was surprised they booked me with a new nail technician for my pedicure. She was afraid (her words to another technician when she asked for help) to dig in and cut and trim. I had asked if they handled in-grown nails but, after she dug into my toe and agitated the existing ingrown (it wasn't hurting before I got there) I was informed that there is only one person certified to work on ingrown nails and my gal WASNT her.... no offer was made to rebook, have her come over and help. No explanation just a seemingly- too bad for you attitude. In all fairness to this company I was asked a number of times as I was paying if everything was okay -the receptionist said "I'm close to the owners...". Never mind. Nothing can be done about it at this point anyway - too many issues for my first visit (which I thought would be mitigated after they spent the time asking questions). of course I won't be back - nothing like paying for a stressful Manicure and then on a different t day a very stressful pedicure) so what did it matter anyway. I have been a loyal customer for many years, but I will never go back and will not recommend them to anyone. I was a member of their passport program, and yet despite being a regular, loyal customer, I was repeatedly rescheduled and/or cancelled with very little notice. I was loyal to a particular technician, who I remain complimentary of, but they would repeatedly reschedule me with someone else without notification. The owners are overbearing and try to upsell, overschedule. They cannot seem to retain anyone at the reception desk, and therefore they check in/check out experience is confusing and frustrating. I had been advised that I had credits on account, but the next time I attempted to use them, I was told I didn't have any. The following time I went, I was told I had them again. It's unfortunate because I really liked my technician who did an amazing job, but I cannot bear to experience their poor management any longer. read more

I'm so hard on my nails and Elia's expertise and professional knowledge have saved me from wanting to wear gloves all the time!!! There are so many things I love about going to this salon. The cleanliness is key. Their products are non-toxic and tailored to one's needs. The ambiance, lovely. The music is fun and upbeat but not overwhelming. I too have been a loyal Paint customer for the past six months or so, and I was even a "Passport" member who paid monthly subscription fees for my services. I had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow morning at 10:00 but tried calling last weekend to come in for a quick polish touch up and their phone was "not accepting calls as this time." I happened to have the owner's cellphone number from prior communications and tried texting her, and got no response. I tried calling again this morning to see if I could move my appointment to today, and the phone just rang and rang, with no voicemail message. After calling twice, I tried calling the owner on her cellphone again; no answer. After finding nothing new posted to Paint's Instagram profile, I came to this Yelp page and saw the reviews from two other blindsided customers whose appointments were canceled and learned that the salon had abruptly closed without warning. To be clear, I never even received an email, phone call or text that the salon had closed and my appointment had been canceled. And even worse, the last time I was there I pre-paid $50 for three additional nail treatments that I obviously will not be able to use. I tried texting the owner again after learning of the closure and still no response. I know running a business is hard but this closure was handled in the most unprofessional and underhanded way. Paint constantly sent me texts to remind me of my appointments and ask me to give them reviews -- a simple mass text or email to all customers informing them of the closure would have been easy and the courteous thing to do. Not to mention issuing refunds for services that will be unused and assuring us monthly customers that our cards will not be charged in the future. Shame on you, Roz. read more

However, the recent email that they SUDDENLY closed without explanation to their staff, their clients or to their franchise company is a RED flag. I am very suspicious as my bank called and told me that there were two fraudulent charges on the CC that I had on file at PAINT a few days before they closed (these two fraudulent charges were with two local businesses so someone local had my credit card). I am not one to write Yelp reviews, but after my experience with the owner, I felt compelled to warn others. This review is not about the nail techs, as they were very kind. However, the way the owner conducts her business is pretty unfortunate and has caused me to never want to return to here. On January 12th, I went in for a gel pedicure. Everyone was very kind and I was one of only three customers in there. The girl who I was booked with had just started another service, so the owner had another nail tech start my pedi. About 3/4 of the way through the service, the other nail tech took over. After doing my gel, she said I was done. I was taken aback because I did not get any sort of foot massage and my feet didn't even have any lotion on. I saw the girl next to me get a hot towel, long massage, etc. I didn't say anything in the moment because I was a bit caught off guard and thought maybe I booked a service that didn't include that. I paid and tipped and left. I looked up the service when I got in my car and realized I should have received that treatment. I was super bummed because I just had a baby and this was a treat from my husband to go relax. At this point, I didn't have time to drive back and I was just kind of disappointed with the experience. I reached out to the owner within ONE hour of leaving. She offered an extra add on service for my next appointment or a $10 refund. I decided to take the refund as getting a pedi is not something I'm doing often with a newborn. Well, that same day, I see that the original $55 dollar charge for the pedi is pending on my bank account. The $10 refund was not, despite the owner saying she refunded me. I waited until the next day, when the original charge was taken from my bank account, still no refund. The following week rolls around and I got an automated email from Paint asking for my review. I gave an honest review after still no refund, and got an incredibly snarky text from the owner about how she refunded me and it wasn't fair for me to review them with a low score. She proceeded to give the excuse that banks are slow to work over a holiday weekend. Well, that's funny because the bank wasn't slow to charge me the $55 dollars the next day, but I still haven't seen my $10 refund in my account (it's been 13 days since my appointment, so there is really no excuse besides the fact she didn't give me the refund as promised). So, here's a tip to the business owner: treat customers with respect! If they are unhappy with their experience, make it right! Don't lie and say you will, then act snarky when they give you honest feedback. Follow through with your promises. I get mistakes happen and I am a forgiving person. However, how she has conducted herself has left such an awful taste in my mouth, I certainly won't be returning. Edit to add to Roslyn's response: how convenient that I was charged $55 the day after my appointment (Friday) despite the long weekend , but that $10 dollars never made it to my account in the two weeks since then. Don't offer a refund if you don't want to give it. Just goes to show I was correct in my assumption that you didn't initiate the refund that day and after I pointed that out, you decided to not issue the refund at all. I didn't want to reach back out and deal with your attitude. I worked in customer service for years and would never treat customers like that, even if I felt I was in the right. This is a great nail salon. I have had services by three different technicians and all were professional, talented, and friendly. Clean studio. However... I received an email this past Sunday that my appointment for this upcoming Friday had been cancelled, but I did not cancel it. I have been trying for two days to call, but the phone just rings; no voicemail and no one answers. I have sent an email to the address on the website and a message through Facebook, with no reply. And now, I notice that online booking is no longer available. I have a feeling that they may have closed without any warning, but I feel like some sort of reply or even an explanation as to WHY my appointment was cancelled, even if just an automated response, would be helpful. Or a voicemail indicating something. I do plan on driving by today when I get off work, which would be during their normal business hours, to see what I can find out.
