Instead, I feel like I have a buddy at the store just giving me great advice on fantastic products. Can you get the similar stuff at different stores or even online for a cheaper price? At approximately $12-18 each the strap is far too short to wear comfortably as a crossbody, which means the blanket canteens were a total financial loss for me! Wanting to show my grandchildren how to go out and hike safely and carry what one needs to be safe or call for help, every other item has met our needs. Ask to open packages and see the product, they may have a display piece, don't get the blanket canteen thinking you can wear it across your body, it is a shoulder carry at best. At approximately $200 spent I am woefully disappointed BUT another lesson I was able to teach my grandchildren about policy signage, asking to touch and see merchandise ensuring items meets your needs prior to purchasing.

When I got to the counter and was making my purchase a manger (or maybe an owner?) said one of the things was too much and cut the price dramatically. I can't remember the last time that has happened to me, and I'm as old as dirt. :-) If you are a maker, tinkerer or just a fan of cool old stuff you owe yourself a visit to Apex. Now many stores like this still exist and it was a fun and interesting visit for me and my wife enjoy all of the general vintage items they also had. She especially liked a red velvet cape she purchased. We just noticed the shop as we left the Denny's in Mojave, it was just before closing so we didn't have time to thoroughly see everything the shore has to offer so we will be back again soon. The fellow at the front counter was very friendly and helpful and I look forward to our next visit when we'll plan enough time to see everything. Fatigues, field jackets, Army, Navy, Marines and other service items.
