I stopped by this winery on my way home from work, around 5:30 on a Thursday and it was not too busy. It's a beautiful drive up to the barn like tasting room, there is also plenty of parking. Since it was chilly, I decided to sit inside but there is an outdoor seating area, very picturesque and quaint. The place was not too crowded and I sat close to the bar. The pourer was attentive and great to talk to. I tried the tasting menu - three whites and 3 reds. There was a mystery vintage on the menu and it turned out to be a 2016 Chardonnay and it was delicious. The pours are not very generous though. You get to see the chickens free ranging outside and they have free wifi. I asked the server for wine corks and she was able to provide me some and asked me to stop by anytime for more. We have been to this winery twice and have loved the experience both the times. They have great selection of wines and they provide great service. We called and got reservations both the times and were able to secure it. So call ahead to book a reservation and you will be set! They have cheese and crackers platters that you can buy with your wines. The pairings are usually great. The ambiance is cozy and they have outdoor standing heaters for the winter months. We walked in Saturday around 2:30pm and were told we were to pay upfront for the tasting. Then we were seated right away. $30 for 5 wines but we did get an extra Merlot when we asked at the end. Stingy pours. We could barely taste the wine. But that's fine because the wines weren't good anyways. The red wines had some tannins. Wines had a mix of fruit and earth. $5 of tasting fee taken off for every bottle purchased. Not sure you can bring food or snacks here since there's a small food menu on the table. 1 restroom outside. The only thing I could say that was good is that they had outdoor seatings in two different areas and the lady who poured for us was attentive at pouring our wines. I've been to Page Mill twice for school fundraisers, and I love their set up. The tasting room is small, but they have a lovely patio, lots of shade, and a beautiful outdoor seating area. It's nestled right up against the vineyards and is pretty quiet. I haven't tried too many of their wines, but I did like the Rosé. read more

So we took a chance and stopped by here without reservations. Wines are all good, today I decided to have a glass of the sauvignon blanc. It was crisp and refreshing. A great way to start my pre-lunch day. Last time I was here, I left with a few cases of wine and some "wine out" because someone spilled red wine on me... And I booked a river cruise to the Douro River in Portugal last time I was here. That was an expensive evening. I learned the next day to be more wary of wineries with very generous pours! Atmosphere - Small local beautiful winery with indoor/outdoor space, see pictures. Plenty of gravel parking, we were the only customers, lol. Guess we are the only customers that drink at noon...? Had a great time at the wine tasting complete with live entertainment (Tim Gomes playing guitar). $20 for 6 pours in our tasting. The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc and GPS ( red blend ) were my favorites. There was a pizza truck outside but otherwise nothing gluten free. So eat before you come or bring a snack if you are gluten free and you want food with your tasting. The people working are super nice and friendly. Unlike wineries in Sonoma, the wine tasting fee isn't waived if you buy a couple of bottles. That was a little disappointing. I think most of the folks who come here are members and regulars. The regulars are super friendly and it was a delightful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. People sing (Tim plays popular hits from 1970's on) and have been known to dance (what I was told). Light wines for Livermore Valley. Stopped by on a Friday afternoon for a tasting. Their patio was surprisingly full for 2pm on a Friday, but they were able to seat my friend and I for a tasting even though we did not make reservations. The chardonnay was light and bright, not overly oaked and buttery like typical CA Chardonnays. The rosé tasted like water, which was surprising as the Chardonnay it followed was so light and our palates were fresh. Honestly, the rosé felt like a bottle of water with pretty pink food coloring added, so we ended up pouring it out rather than risk getting tipsy from a wine with no flavor. I suppose for those who dislike the taste of wine but want the buzz, this would be a good option! The rest of the reds were also surprisingly light in flavor and presence. I am accustomed to Livermore Valley Cabernets and red blends that burst with flavor from the heat the valley produces, and so, was slightly disappointed by the watery flavor profiles. Page Mill Winery offers the complete wine tasting experience without the pretentious vibes that many other wineries have. When our group of three arrived without a reservation on a Sunday afternoon, the host was kind and did not make a big deal of it. We were seated right away at one of their front outdoor tables that was shaded from the sun. While the interior of the building is quite small, they offer several outdoor tables near the grape vines that are spaced far enough from one another to offer some privacy without feeling isolated. In terms of service and wine offerings, the menu is somewhat short but not disappointing. Our group was interested in a rose, of which they offer two varieties - one flat, Angela's Cuvee, and one sparkling - but were unsure which to order. To our surprise, the server was kind enough to bring a sample of both before we made our final decision. What would a winery be without offering a cheese board? While you guessed it, Paige Mill offers a great basket that includes full size block of cheese, a salami tray, and a full box of crackers. Sure, you do have to plate it yourself but considering the value for your money, who cares. One other thing that we appreciated about Paige Mill is the fact that they don't try to shove their wine club down your throat. Members or non-members alike, the winery is a relaxing space to enjoy the company of your friends or family while having a great glass of wine and a bite to eat. Had such a fun afternoon tasting at Page Mill! The tented patio is decorated so nicely- not sure if it was added because of covid, but with all the effort they put into decorating it with succulents, photos and even a Page Mill sign, you can tell this spot was well thought out. We had a reservation for a group of 6 and were given a nice big table. The table even had a sheet welcoming our party with our reservation name, just a little detail that made the experience feel that much more special. Reservations are required so be sure to book online ahead of time! The tasting menu had 5 wines. We happened to be there on their BYOB day and were able to taste that additional wine as well. Luckily with no immediate reservation after ours, we were able to spend extra time at our table and enjoy a bottle of wine. We brought a charcuterie board so it was really nice that we got to stay and enjoy it without feeling rushed. I am no wine connoisseur but lucky for me, I went with one! Reservations were required in advance which was appreciated because the space is small. Page Mill is a lovely, quaint space. We were seated in a tent-like area for a party of 5. Brought in our own cheese board (which again - not a wine person - I didn't know you could do! So cool!) We tried a total of 5 wines in our allotted hour, then decided to purchase a bottle for the table and move outside. We were lucky, no reservation was made for the following hour so they let us continue sitting inside. Each of us bought a bottle to take home so our tasting was waived. They were having issues with their POS system and it look a very long time to make our purchases. They were kind enough to pour us another wine to taste for the wait. Recently I visited this winery by way of referral from a friend that spoke very highly of this place. It's in Livermore and is a cute little place that has a nice seating area and aesthetics. We had a couple of flights and learned about the processes of making the wine we tasted and our hostess did a good job. We were pleased with the experience and decided to purchase one of the wines we enjoyed. 3 weeks after visiting the winery we had decided to have the bottle of wine we purchased with dinner. After opening the bottle and letting it breathe I poured 2 glasses and after the first sip it was noticeable that something wasn't right and it tasted weird. I sealed the bottle back and my wife reached out to the winery regarding this matter. We were contacted by Dane who attempted to help rectify the problem however there seemed to be a problem with the fact that since we were not members of the winery they had a hard time finding the transaction in their records. This was frustrating because I had given him the exact dollar amount and date so it was confusing why the transaction was so difficult to locate. I was able to provide a copy of the charge to my account in hopes that would help but to no avail it didn't. We were in contact for almost 3 weeks with Dane regarding some form of compensation. We were hoping this would be a simple and easy process but it was far from that. When we asked to be compensated with an additional bottle plus the replacement bottle that I purchased it became this back and forth with Dane expressing that all they could do was replace the bottle I purchased. I felt like replacing what I purchased was the least they could do but they could've been more accommodating and understanding towards the situation by showing some form of compensation. Unfortunately that was disappointing and I doubt we'll visit this place again. read more

We went winetasting with friends early Sunday afternoon at Page Mill Winery. We were seated under a large umbrella with grapevines in our view. Nancy, was our gracious hostess, who told us some history of Page Mill Winery and how it was birthed in the Santa Cruz Mountains over 45 years ago. Almost 20 years ago the winery moved to the Livermore Valley because they had outgrown their old place. You need reservations to have a wine tasting which are available Thursday through Sunday 12 to 4:30. Wine tasting for nonmembers is $15 per person with six different pours. Their wine list for nonmembers includes 10 wines, ranging from $24-$45 a bottle. For each bottle that you buy, you get five dollar credit off tasting fees. I noticed that if you were a member of one the three wine clubs, that there were eight more wines that you could purchase. If you're hungry, they have two different cheese baskets available for $20 each. If you bring your doggy and they are hungry, they have homemade frozen dog treats available for sale. Want to save money? BYOB every third Sunday, you can bring your clean wine bottle and fill it with a delicious table wine for only $9.99. The lady that served us was very friendly and pleasant, but the pour were so small that I never got e true idea of what the wine tasted like. Against my advice, my wife bought a bottle of wine anyway. The pours were so small that all of the wine tasted like it was diluted with water. Page Mill wine is consistently unimpressive. I have tasted here, and have had their wine downtown multiple times. If you like sour wine, not ready for public consumption, then by all means buy a bottle and see if it matures. But I've never been impressed. The winery tasting room is somewhat janky, and their wine gives livermore a bad name. It's not the world's worst wine or winery, but this is real wine country. Go somewhere better. Stop number 2 on our day trip from Sacramento. We didn't have reservations and I made sure to call first and make sure they could take a walk in. They have signage from the road so you can't miss it. The entrance is a dirt road that leads to the entrance of the tasting room. It's a beautiful building and I can definitely see weddings being held here. Once inside the tasting room, we looked around at the items they had for sale. The coolest things were the different wine spouts, super cute! We were brought out to a little table facing the vineyard. We were under a little canopy in the shade. I did a tasting and the hubs went for a glass of Sauv. The tasting was great and informative. I love the cute design on the wine glasses. It was such a lovely day to day and the woman pouring was very sweet and made our visit very relaxed and enjoyable. Note: Nice local winery with a great selection of small batch wines. This would be closer to a 5 star winery but the woman pouring our tastings was basically doing 1/2 tastings. Lose a point for that unfortunately. There was a bottle stop on top and she wasn't even pouring til that stopped. Kind of weak. The tasting menu was great though and has a nice variety of reds. Wound up taking a few bottles home, the rose and cab were my favorite. Also great price point for the quality. The ambiance is chill. The indoor area is small and intimate. They have a nice covered patio and a canvas tent extending it out further. There are some small outdoor couches and tables. There was even live music when I was there which really added a nice element. They apparently have a BYOB event once a month which is where you bring an empty clean bottle and they will refill it with a blend for $10, sounds like a steal! Priority wine pass adventures! Here the pass gave us complimentary tasting for two. I really enjoyed how casual and homey this winery was. We happened to visit when they had a live band playing outdoors. There were several groups of people outside enjoying food and wine on the picnic tables. It was a wonderful atmosphere. Upon entering we were immediately greeted and welcomed over to a spot to begin tasting. The tasting included 6 wines and the woman serving us also gave us an additional tasting of a wine from the member's list. First things first. The Vitner's Select Chardonnay from the member's tasting menu.....dare I say that this is the best Chardonnay I have ever had? It was incredibly oaky and just delectable. I have never had a Chardonnay like it before. Alas, only available for purchase for wine club members! We were very disappointed to hear that as we most definitely would have bought several bottles. Probably for the best in that case. Other wines we really liked - the cabernet franc (very smooth and light), the sauvignon blanc, and the chardonnay. The husband really liked the GPS and Barbera, they were too acidic for me. I thought the rose was wayyyy too acidic. Another cool thing was that once a month you can bring in your empty bottles and get them filled with a red blend for $10. My fiance and I love this place! We took our friends here for wine tasting and we loved it so much that we signed up for their wine club. We try to make it out to the winery at least once a month. One of my favorite things about their wine tasting is that they have a good selection of both red and white wines. I am more of a white wine drinker and this place does not disappoint. They also have some of the nicest ladies working here. We usually go when it isn't too busy so they really give us the star treatment. They even bring the wines straight out to us. The really neat thing being the bring your own bottle (byob) on the 3rd Sunday of each month to have it filled with that month's vintage for $10.00 member or not. They have a partnership with a company that makes very cool poring aerator usually the shape of an animal or popular item. I picked up a few there for myself to use at home. The staff is always friendly and acommodating. I can't see myself leaving anytime soon. They keep things fun with events at the winery or other locations for members. We were not very impressed with their wine, so we went to pay. Their advertised price for a tasting was $15 per person, When were charged almost $45, I mentioned we were only purchasing 2 tastings, they then told us the price was $20 per person and told us we have not changed it on the menu yet, so they charged the extra $ anyway without an apology. At Page Mill, the atmosphere is very friendly and the staff is extremely knowledgeable about each varietal they pour and will educate you as they go down the menu, providing a very intimate tasting.
