Located at the Kingston Plaza in Kingston, NY, we came here for a color stain for raw pine doors we'd purchased at a door store. Herzog's is big- not Home Depot big- but it's got a lot of what you may need for home repairs. They carry lighting equipment, painting items, a kitchen+ bathroom design dep't, textiles, BBQ accessories, vacuum cleaners, gardening supplies, candles, some clothing- heck, even minimalist jewelry in a glass case, etc. My girl with the glasses in the paint department was smooth and patient. She took her time when we asked her questions about colors and how each color stain would react to raw wood. Service was fine, we left with smiles and was the opposite of everything that's been written here in the past. Whether you're working with a contractor like we are or you're one of those Do-It-Yourselfers, this is your place.

Ken said he had to check with Bob and he'd call me, well I'm still waiting!!! Why would anyone do business with this company. I did go to Bradys that day, they were helpful, but didn't have that machine in stock. I have since purchased the ZTXS4-54 at M&H in Middletown, Matt was wonderful to deal with.

I had my tractor serviced and have had a very different experience entirely. For starters they are 6 months behind in servicing anyone because they have one mechanic someone quit and they don't see a need to replace them. I called in October and I just got a call last week. It has been 4 months. They picked up the machine for service. They informed me the tie rods were broken and it would be 1200 more. I said thats fine proceed. A day later they called me and said another part was broken its 300 and an hour labor. I agreed again. My bill came to 14 hours of labor. The tune up of the entire machine and all its systems was 4. The tie rods and housing were ten? I find out later they had the new helper that is in training working on my machine. The extra part I had to pay for is clearly something they broke while taking it apart which is why I didn't hear about it until the next day. I have tried to find where replacing tie rods is over three hours but cannot. When I asked the technician why so long he responded that well we had to wait for the parts? Was I paying for labor while we waited? My tractor isn't practice for your trainee. How dare you. Worse experience ever. If you are lonely and you want to chat up an old man at the tractor store well then yes this would be the place to go. It's that nice country feel. When I asked the owner why did I have to wait 4 months to get the machine in, his response was well I waited a month and a half for an oral surgeon! Poor dear, you can go to someone else, I needed a kubota dealer and did t really have a choice. Not to mention hey that's your mouth that is disgusting go to the doctor for the love of God. Its that backwoods country bumkin mentality that makes this a dying business. Shame on you. Shame on this. No excuse for a business. 14 hours labor?

Located on Rt 28 in Shokan, NY, Door J. worked for several reasons: we knew we were getting solid wood doors, close to home and, we were satisfied with the customer service from the get-go when we first came here to inquire. Plus Door J., has an incredible stock on salvaged doors that come directly from suppliers. They claim their doors are "either overstock, inaccurate orders, or have slight cosmetic defects, but all the products are new and structurally sound". And if you can't find your door here, one will be ordered for you. That's what we did. I love our wide pass-through living room in our new home, but we wanted to have the option of closing it off if we want to- or keeping it open. Barn-styled doors was our go-to. Chris was super helpful the first time we came here and gave us a in-depth rundown about Door J. Do know, this place does not: (1)deliver and (2)install doors- because that's on you or your contractor- if you're using one- which we did. We were also in the market for slider windows for our basement and these folks helped with that. Because Door J. is an Andersen Window distributor, we were even more ecstatic that we could have our cake and eat too by ordering our barn doors AND 5 small slider windows because they seal tightly against air, water and anything else. You can go to Home D. or Lowe's. We're here because products are great and customer service rocks.
