Stopped here for lunch on our way to Solvang. The location was perfect, it sits right along Padaro Beach on Santa Claus Lane and has the most beautiful views of Carpinteria. The menu is diverse with plenty of options, (even for the pickiest eaters) and a VEGAN menu! It's great for meat eaters and vegetarians alike! I ordered the Vegan Chipotle Chicken Sandwich and opted to have it lettuce wrapped instead of the sourdough bread it comes on. The sandwich comes with slices of tomato, guacamole, melted cheddar cheese, and a vegan chipotle chicken patty, all wrapped in green leaf lettuce. The "chicken" was flavorful and fried to perfection, vegetables were fresh, and the gooey cheddar cheese and guacamole tied the whole sandwich together. DELICIOUS! One of my most favorite spots with large area for kids to play surprised me today as they didn't seem to care that a older man was drunk, cursing, and SMOKING cigarettes a few feet from babies and kids playing. Amazing eating area!!! Clearly the draw of this place but the food is great as well. Found online but my brother-in -law also gave high marks so we had to try. I'm shocked by the good reviews. Saddens me to make this review because it's such a cool thing that you get to sit outside and have multiple wide open play area for the kids. And the staff is friendly. BUT HOW DO YOU SCREW UP A GRILLED FISH TACO THIS BAD? I don't mean like one or two parts of it. Every ingredient. Every part worse than the other. We stopped at this place tonight because we are staying nearby in Carpenteria. It is totally a beachy grill, and there are lots of palm trees and shady seating. There is a sandbox for kids. Our food was what we expected, but it was pretty tasty. I had the Beach Club, and my husband ordered the Padaro burger. We shared an order of onion rings, which were yummy. Islands music is playing. We heard great things about this place and decided to give it a try after a trip to the zoo. Food was great! Our table had the Padaro burger, tater tots, shrimp tacos and fish n chips. They have something for everyone. Pricing was reasonable. We went on a Sunday around noon and the line was out the door so just a heads up if you do decided to go on a weekend around that time. Padaro Beach Grill really catches the whole California beach cantina vibe! The kitchen/order counter are in a nicely kept but throwback funky beach shack. The eating area is a palm tree shaded lawn with numerous picnic tables and divided eating areas. You can hear the waves beating against the sand just a few yards away. There's even a big sand box with toys for the kids. Food is diverse, with an emphasis on beach tacos and burgers. They also have an extensive vegan menu, and several vegetarian choices. Great spot for a casual meal. Order at the counter and find a seat in their very open and spacious outdoor area. No dogs allowed, but kids are and there are usually quite a few playing in the massive sandbox located in the center of the outdoor area. Food is good. I've been a few times and haven't been disappointed. Portions are large. I did get the calamari last time I went and found that it was a little heavy on the breading. Salad was tasty and filling. It's usually pretty busy during peak times, but I'm sure we'll end up going more often once the new bike path opens up. read more

It's been a few years since I've been to the Padaro Beach Grill, and I don't remember being particularly impressed the last time I was there. However, the food quality has changed for sure, confirmed by everyone in our very large party (11 adults and 5 children). First off, a very nice selection of beers on draught, many local. They let me sample a couple of them before I settled on an IPA out from a brewery in Ventura. Second, I knew I had to get fish tacos--I was in Carpinteria, near the beach, after all!--and finally settled on the Grilled Fish Tacos. OMG! They were so good! I love Padaro! Such a fun location right on the beach with ample outdoor seating. Great venue to bring kids and enjoy a meal. I can usually get a table pretty easily and the staff are always so helpful. Even with a bigger crowd on our most recent visit, our food was ready pretty quickly. I love their BBQ chicken salad. A friend of mine recently came here and recommended it to me, told me he KNEW I would love it. And loved it I did. Lets start with the ambiance, it's perfect you're right next to the ocean. Lot of benches with umbrellas out in the patio, with limited seated indoors. Which is fine, this restaurant is made to be enjoyed outdoors, especially on these beautiful summer days. The service was great, friendly, and very quick. The food is amazing. I didn't know they had Vegan options but I'm glad they did. I loved the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich. I also loved their fish and chips. My dad ordered the shrimp and avocado salad, and man they are not stingy with the avocado here at all! Overall, I really loved this place, it was worth the pretty 40 minute drive there, the vibes are immaculate, and the food is great! I genuinely cannot wait to come back here alone. There was a wedding party at 5pm on a Saturday and they had a large section of the outdoor seating space blocked off for that group, so maybe that was the issue - but there were no ocean views for us. This was our first time a Padaro Beach Grill and it was really good! Very busy on a Saturday afternoon but plenty out outside seating. You wait in line and order at a counter and then your buzzes alerts you when food is ready for pickup. We found a table outside (great view!) and enjoyed our food. I had the smash burger (which was good but was decidedly NOT a smash burger), my husband had the patty melt, our table also had the Nacho Burrito, Shrimp & Avocado salad, and Padaro burger. The Double Padaro Burger is legendary. It's huge! It's flavorful! It's has all the perfect ingredients! It's has two awesome saucues! It's the kind of burger you crave when you are craving for a burger. It's the kind of burger you want as a last meal. Normally it comes in a single patty but for some reason I had to make it a double. My inner and outer fattie both wanted to take the risk and it was worth it! Oh ya the rest of Padaro Beach Grill was excellant. My wife got the Maui Burger and she thought it was the best hawaiian burger she had. She also loved that she was able to get a small version of the caesar salad because that too was delicious. Lastly can't forget to mention the tator tots. Stopped off to take a break from the traffic on the 101N. Best stop in this trip this far. Beautiful setting with the ocean as our backdrop. Upon entering the restaurant, you place your order. We ordered the bbq salad, grilled fish tacos, chicken sandwiches and tator tots. Cost was reasonable. We had a pager to let us know our food was ready, so we walked out and found a table near a fire pit not was a little windy and cold so we asked to have the pit turned on. No problem, they did it with a smile. Food was ready and everything was so yummy!!! Tasty and hot. The bbq salad was my favorite, had so much "stuff"' in it!!! Tator tors were crispy and made just the way I love my tots! We ordered two of their ice cream sandwiches for our drive to Paso. So yummy, but a little pricey. My favorite are the grilled fish tacos. The garlic aïoli sauce is so creamy and fresh. And abundant amount of fish and a big slice of avocado. Did I mention the ocean view? Much better food this visit! Dear Hubby chose the Maui burger, and I had the turkey burger. Both were prepared to the perfect state of doneness. I would order the turkey burger again, but ask for the thousand island on the side, as it got a bit much. Also, I was disappointed to learn that grilled mushrooms aren't an option as an add-on. Bit of deduction in satisfaction for that. Overall, it was nice to return to this tropical-themed seaside venue. It's definitely family friendly, and welcoming to all ages. Music in the garden varies between reggae, country, vintage pop, and other options that are uplifting / add to the relaxed vibe. The tables are naturally spread out, very safe in these lingering COVID times. The staff keeps the freshly prepared food coming with a friendly attitude. Free parking! Stopped here for lunch on our way up to SB. We've been to the cafe next door a couple times but this was our first time here. We ordered a burger & some clam chowder at the counter & took our pager out back to find seating. Their private outdoor seating is really nice. There are picnic tables set up & it's really family friendly. They have a small, raised patio area with seating just for adults if you'd rather be away from the little ones. When the pager goes off you go get your food from the same counter where you ordered it. The food was good. My burger was cooked to a nice medium, very fresh & flavorful. The chowder was good too. We came to Padaro on a windy Saturday around 2:30. I have been here many times and have never seen it so empty. We found parking easily. I am not sure if it was the wind or the off timing we came, but it was nice to sit in the peace and quiet with the ocean view. Lunch for two for under $30 for the quality and the view! I was not going to eat I'm glad my daughter insisted I do as we still need to drive a long stretch to get to Solvang. There were so many kinds of burgers I didn't know what to get but luckily I chose the right one ! The California burger had grilled burger, grilled red pepper, onions, grilled buns w yummy Mayo, it's mouth watering n a yuuuge scoop of fresh guacamole on top of the burger! I really don't want to tell you how amazing Padaro is because I honestly don't want any more people to show up there. Let's just say that once you go to Padaro you will also feel the same way. Fresh food that is interesting and tastes really good, an outside area the size of a park with picnic tables and umbrellas on flat grass, a sand box about the size of a swimming pool, a fire pit in the adults only area which also has a beach view and a bonus Amtrak train that goes right by every so often so kids and adults can wave and scream there is a TRAIN! read more

I was honestly expecting some pretty average sandwiches and salads like I often see at restaurants on the beach, but this place totally surprised me! We got the tri tip fries, onion rings, chicken club sandwich, BBQ chicken salad, cobb salad, and chili. The tri tip fries were an absolute must have, the toppings were fresh and the cheese was crispy enough that it didn't make the fries soggy. The onions rings were also awesome with sweet onions and a perfectly crunchy texture. We enjoyed every meal that we ordered, but the beach club sandwich that came on toasted buttered sourdough was definitely my favorite! The seating area is lively and fun with a perfect view of the ocean! The outdoor area has plenty of seating and was pretty much a mini park with lots of kids playing around. Parking was also easy.
