We've been dying for a fantastic oriental food restaurant. Thai food is not my cup of tea, but my husband enjoys it so we checked out Pad Thai. At last!!! An exhotic place to eat in our little town where the dishes are all SO wonderful! The prices are very reasonable and the portions are ample. The service is good. My only wish is that they would have some muzak for us. They explained it was because the TV was playing, but the TV is located far from where the tables are, so it's oddly silent when you walk in even when the tables are all full. At least it has been when we have gone. Still, though, we can't wait to eat their food again. If they ever start delivering, we're going to be in big trouble :). Big happy trouble. read more

Ok - take me back to Thailand with friends in Mt Pleasant Iowa! We enjoyed the Pad MaMa (a local specialty) & the Tiger Cried Beef with sticky rice after enjoying an order if spring rolls & chicken satay. Everything was spot on - 4 spring rolls, hot & fresh; 4 pieces of chicken satay - cooked to tender perfection. Yummy peanut sauce. The entries were a perfect serving size & again fresh. The hot sauce for the beef was served on the side you one could self titrate. Everything is gone & we are hitting the road to drive in foul fog to Misdouri but we will be talking about this meal for a while. read more

This was a nice recent find in small town Iowa. Thai food is my favorite cuisine but finding good Thai food in Iowa is very challenging. The food is authentic and vibrant in flavor, not bland like so many of the other Thai restaurants in Iowa. There is a good variety of dishes to select from...an assortment of curries, noodle dishes, stir fry, etc. I've eaten here twice now and enjoyed my meal each time. The spring rolls are made in house and are good. The summer rolls are a nice, light appetizer on a warm summer day. The restaurant is clean. Service is spotty. The first time it was pretty good. The second time the waitress seemed pretty clueless about everything. I shall return. read more

I had really high hopes for this place. I guess I am spoiled by the Thai place I ate at back in Pennsylvania. I had the seafood pad Thai. The noodles and vegetables were fine but the seafood was lacking. It was a bit overcooked. The shrimp, mussels, calamari and scallops were a bit too tough. Oh and there was unexpected imitation krab mixed in. That could have been left out in my opinion. If I were to try this place again, I would try a different protein, most likely beef. The service was good but it was the first day for our waiter and she had to frequently go ask questions of the seasoned help. We had Pad Thai and it was very good. What a gem of a restaurant in Mt. Pleasant. My wife and I happened to be passing through town on our way to STL and dropped in for dinner. We could not have made a better decision. This lovely little Thai restaurant is just north of the square in Mt Pleasant. The menu is quite expansive. I ordered Gra Praw Nua which was beautifully presented and very tasty. I asked for it medium which was just right for me, hot enough to make the top of my head sweat. This was my first visit but hope to come back. read more

Wow! This place was wonderful!! Food was fresh, hot, delicious and plentiful servings! We tried the crab Rangoon and it wasn't that thick deep fried app that you get in most places but a very light fully filled app that was the perfect balance! It was excellent! The dumplings were fresh and seasoned to perfection! The Pad Thai was perfect!! Our server was attentive and made sure we were happy with everything and gave us great suggestions! I am not Thai but have been to Thailand several times and have eaten Thai food extensively in the U.S. Big cities (San Francisco, Chicago), small cities, and everything in between. So I was on a road trip with my son and he said he was hungry so I pulled out Yelp and found this gem of a restaurant in small town Iowa of all places. The reviews were outstanding but I was skeptical. After trying the Tom Yum soup, I realized that my skepticism was completely misplaced. Without question, this was in the top 5% of all Thai restaurants I have ever eaten at, including those in Thailand. The flavors, the ingredients, the portion sizes, the authenticity of the food and spices, the menu selection...all top notch. I spoke to the owner of the restaurant for a little while and you can tell that she is passionate about preparing outstanding food for those who enter this restaurant. Come with a big appetite, an adventurous mind, and a willingness to enjoy some of the best Southeast Asian food I have had in a very long time. Run-do not walk-to Pad Thai if you are anywhere near Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. This place is the best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. The other Thai restaurants I've visited never compare! Whenever I'm in town, I have to have lunch or dinner at least once. The red curry is amazing. The Mongolian beef has been really good too but the last time I had it (about 1 month ago), it was very runny and the sauce had normally been thicker. Recently moved out here from Hawaii and I've been missing all Asian food. Drove about 30 min here cause I was craving pad Thai. This place was easy to find and was able to get parking close by (we went for an early dinner 430pm) I ordered the egg rolls, spring rolls, traditional pad Thai w/ tofu, beef pho for my children and the combination pho for my husband. I really enjoyed the spring rolls. Really fresh and appetizing. I'm used to the peanut sauce served with spring rolls but the sweet sauce that came with it was delicious also. The egg rolls were for my kids and they enjoyed it, although I'm not sure if their made in-house or not. They seemed to be the premade/frozen kind and just deep-fry but they were still good. The pad Thai hit the spot and fulfilled my cravings, I would definitely order both again. As far as the pho, my family enjoyed it but personally I wouldn't order it for myself. This pho was different from what I'm used to and did not have the regular fixings like bean sprouts, Thai basil, etc which I like. But again, my family loved it and said would like to order it again. Nice place quaint little place. Very clean and tidy. Wait staff were friendly and prompt. I ordered my dish as "mild" and it came as requested. This was a welcome relief as many other Thai restaurants I've visited in other cities don't know how to make a mild dish. Other restaurants only have hot and less hot even when you ask for mild. This was a bland experience. The customer service was ok. I can appreciate the fact that only one server was really working. The other was clearly a trainee. The one who was working the floor still managed to stop by our table a couple of times while serving the other customers, supervising the trainee, and taking phone orders. Additionally, the restaurant was clean and our food was served very quickly. However, the food was decidedly boring. The lo mein noodles were tender and the vegetables were crisp. The chicken was chewy and dry. The sauce was too sweet, too salty, too oily, and lacked any real flavor, while still managing to drown any flavor the vegetables and noodles may have added. I only had one issue with the service - I ordered hot tea which was never delivered. I never raised the issue, and our server readily removed the tea in addition to offering a free take-out cup of tea. read more

This restaurant is a treasure and located in a historic downtown area of Mt. Pleasant. As one who has traveled SE Asia frequently, the food is authentic not like most Asian restaurants in the States.
