Enjoyed my lunch here! Sat near the bar and the waitress and bar tender were great. I got the steak tacos & they were delicious! Steak was so tender and well seasoned! Also got the spritzer... it was pretty good but I think drinks are all between that $15-19 range. Overall meal & drink were a little pricey for lunch imo, but bill for 2 came out to about $80. After all, it is a steakhouse so that's expected.

Food was ok the portions could have been bigger I have had better for a much more reasonable price at other places. Seems like friends and family again giving high reviews to keep the star review up

Lovely Anniversary meal at Packard's. Started with their newly offered Cheese course (we chose 3) and their Crab Cakes (the remoulade sauce had a good kick & nice sear on the blue crab cakes). My prime NY strip and my husband's Delmonico were both delicious. Loved the crust on his steak but gave the edge to the flavor on mine, Spot on cocktails & such attentive and friendly team oriented service (Thank you Mike, Teresa, Gayle & Melissa) you felt like you were a eating with friends. We'll be back!

Came here for lunch and it was just mediocre at best to be honest. The reuben was OK. The service was ok, but not great. Prices were a bit higher than I would expect for what we received.

Predatory worker compensation structure - Be aware…read more We recently dined here and noticed the tabletop signs explaining a mandatory 20% "commission" added to every single bill. When speaking with our server, she informed us that management classifies the waitstaff as 1099 independent contractors, meaning they receive a $0 hourly base rate from the restaurant and rely entirely on this mandatory guest fee for their paycheck.I have a physical copy of the check showing this automatic fee. While the sign claims this "supports our team," classifying standard restaurant servers as 1099 workers instead of W-2 employees is a massive red flag that contradicts federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines. Independent contractors set their own hours and operations; servers do not. Furthermore, a restaurant cannot legally leave a server's direct hourly base wage at zero by relying entirely on automatic service fees.We love supporting local staff, but we want our money going to businesses that respect basic labor laws and compensate their employees legally. Hopefully, public pressure will force management to fix their payroll structure. The server said the restaurant was on the verge of bankruptcy and had to make changes. Sadly they chose to break the law. On that note the service was lovely, the food very tasty. I asked to sub corn for flour tortias and she was able. We don't directly live in the area, and its been a while since we've been here. Its always good, with good portions and not a chain. Its so unfortunate.

This place is absolutely adorable…read more I think this street is the perfect place to hit up a couple restaurants for a progressive dinner. A lot of the restaurants are closed for lunch though, which is how we ended up here. It's a lot larger than it looks. There's a really cute covered outdoors area in the back with a stage for performances. There were only a few diners there for lunch on a Friday so it was easy to grab a spot. I got a skinny strawberry margarita, it made me happy to see a skinny version of a flavored margarita on the menu. It has a sugar rim and was delicious. It's on the sweet side and I'd definitely get it again. I requested it without soda water. For my main I got the salmon bowl. I wouldn't get this again, but it's because the base is mainly fried wontons. I thought it would be a scattering of fried wontons but nope, it was a hefty portion. I didn't eat most of the fried wontons because I'm trying to be healthy. It's a delicious dish, just not for me. Service was great, but we were an easy table because we were chatting the entire time. I enjoyed our meal here, so we will definitely be back!

Fatty Fish Shack is always a solid option for a laid-back Florida afternoon…read more We stopped in for the covered outdoor seating and live music after spending the day relaxing in a hammock on the Dunedin Causeway -- and it hit the spot. I love that the outdoor area is covered, so you still get the fresh air without the sun beating down on you. It was surprisingly slow this visit (I've been here before when it was packed), but service was still easygoing and the drinks were reasonably priced for what you get. We tried the smoked mahi fish dip -- definitely a standout, super flavorful and worth ordering. The West Connecticut lobster roll was good, and while the coleslaw was a little on the dry side, the potato salad made up for it. Overall, it's not somewhere I'd write off -- I'd absolutely come back. It's a great go-to on a pretty day if you're in the mood for live music, decent drinks, and a relaxed vibe.

I've been coming to Fatty's Fish Shack since it opened and before, but a recent visit made it clear…read morethings have gone downhill and I won't be back until management changes. Some staff have been rude and inconsiderate, and it hasn't been an isolated incident but a pattern I've noticed over recent visits. One specific example: on a stormy, rainy evening with a heavier-than-usual crowd, a server named Lars brought his electric bike in from the rain and parked it on the handicap access ramp. This blocked the ramp entirely, so families with children and babies in strollers couldn't get through and had to go around through the stairs and get soaked in the rain just to get inside. When I said something to Lars about it, I was called out by the manager, Manuyel, instead of the issue being addressed. Moments you wish fire department would step in. Owners obviously have no real interest in this place since the staff has taken over to make it their own personal hangout while "trying" to service it as a restaurant. It's so obvious when it's happy hour for them, as you clearly see them making themselves drinks, specifically Jack Daniels and Jim Beam, and taking shots to the kitchen. It also feels like the business is cutting corners to stay afloat. Beer prices have dropped dramatically, which seems to be drawing a rowdier crowd, and the live music, which used to be a real draw here, has been scaled back to cheaper acts with noticeably lower quality. This used to be a great spot. I'd genuinely like to come back if ownership steps in and addresses the management issue.

On the rare occasion that…read moreseafood was on the menu, it was typically a frozen variety like Groton's, or the occasional fish fry at the Elk's Club. That's changed since moving to the Gulf Coast of Florida, where the fish at the local restaurant today was probably swimming yesterday. My "go-to" seafood now is a grouper sandwich which I order blackened but NOT fried. I've sampled grouper sandwiches from many local dining establishments, but my favorite is from "Carvor's Fish House" A couple of important notes: 1) Carvor's is only open for LUNCH. Their hours vary, so you'll want to check the website, but they typically close at FIVE PM, with the last order accepted at FOUR PM. 2) Carvor's has NO inside dining The patio is tree-shaded with extra umbrellas but if it's really hot, you may be uncomfortable. 3) Carvor's has COUNTER SERVICE. You go inside, order your food and THEN go back outside and select a table. When your food is ready, a server will bring it to your table. 4) This is downtown Dunedin, and parking can occasionally be a challenge on Douglas Street, but FREE parking is available in the city parking garage across the street. Pictured is my "blackened grouper" sandwich. A refreshing change from the usual French fries is their homemade chilled tomato, cucumber and onion salad. Delish!

The next time, we went for lunch and they were out of some things that we initially ordered, but we ended up with a heating plate of fried things that kind of felt like bar food. It is a cute spot and I would probably try it again. I just did not think it lived anywhere near up to the hype that most locals give it.

Not only was he funny and genuinely enjoyable to talk to, but he provided excellent service from start to finish. He definitely added to the overall experience. We started with the smoked fish spread, which was excellent. It had a great smoky flavor, and serving it with jalapeños was the perfect touch. I had the fried seafood platter, and everything was lightly battered, crispy, and full of flavor. It was so good my wife kept reaching over and picking at my platter! She ordered the lobster roll, which was a great-sized portion and absolutely delicious. Great food, great atmosphere, and an all-around great experience. We'll definitely be back.
