Felicia no longer works there and the management seemed to push her out. I cancelled my membership.

I have been doing Pilates for about 20 years. Due to issues with my back and neck I do not do…read morePilates mat classes. For me I find using the various Pilates equipment, in a small group setting, to be the most efficient and enjoyable workout. For years I would travel to SF to go to a studio I loved! Once I had my daughter I stopped the regular workouts and it became very difficult to get to my old studio. I really wanted to get back to weekly sessions so I started the search! I looked all over the coast, and even the Peninsula, for an exceptional pilates studio. I finally discovered Lele at Half Moon Bay Pilates. I absolutely LOVE my sessions with her. I participate in weekly, small group private workouts (usually 4-6 people). It is the value of a lifetime... having her expertise guiding your every move. She focuses on each persons strengths and limitations which is invaluable. The studio has exceptional quality equipment as well as a variety of other props that are used. The space very clean and setup for a nice, relaxed feel. We are always switching up the workouts and trying new things. Lele keeps it fun, information and enjoyable. I love Half Moon Bay Pilates and Lele!!!

After his first HMB Pilates session he came home, smiling and said it was the most positive hour he's had since the accident. This is also my first experience with Pilates and I couldn't be more pleased. Tons of positive reinforcement and professional expertise make for a lovely session every week. Coleen, Katie and Lele are terrific.

I really wanted to like Pilates V -- the classes themselves were decent, and the instructors I met…read morewere kind. But unfortunately, the experience with their policy and customer support has been frustrating enough that I'm seriously reconsidering coming back. I've been dealing with a prolonged illness, and per their own policy, clients with symptoms are not allowed to attend class (which I fully respect). But when I reached out to explain my situation, I was only given a two-week extension -- no flexibility, no empathy, just a firm deadline. When I tried to use the remaining classes before expiration, I did not show up due to a worsening cough at the day of class-- again, trying to be responsible and follow their rules. I then received a late cancel/no show warning email, which said I'd normally be charged an extra $15 fee on top of the class I already paid for, just for being too sick to attend. Although the fee was waived this time, the tone of the message and the overall approach felt more like a punishment system than a client-centered one. The policy is confusing, rigid, and completely lacking in support for people dealing with health issues. It left me feeling discouraged and unwelcome -- not something I expect from a wellness studio.

They don't have a reception area so I was a little lost walking in but I just followed what everyone else was doing. The workout itself was fine. Compared to the classes I took in the past I didn't find the instructor to be helpful. When I got home I got an email about my bill from Pilates V which was a charge for grip socks which I did not purchase. I ended up reaching out to management for a refund. There was a couple back and forth with the emails where I had to reach out for updates. It did become a bit frustrating because I didn't talk to the instructor at all but was told that the instructor said it was me that purchased. In the end I received my refund which I was thankful for however I feel like this could have been solved in a more efficient way. I ended up not using the rest of the Groupon classes but it's a loss I would rather take than take more classes.

A great challenging workout! They have the new mega pro reformers that have a sectioned carriage…read moreand can tilt up, which I haven't really seen at a lot of other Lagree places. Highly recommend Mona, who I've taken a few classes with. She always has a killer workout in store for you, but is great about giving options for modifications/amplifications depending on where you're at physically. She's also great at helping you set intention for your workout and being mindful of your body. It's one of the few Lagree studios on the Peninsula - located in downtown Burlingame, so super convenient if you need to stop somewhere nearby. Street parking - easier to find a metered spot, but there are also some free spots if you have the time to look. They're on ClassPass for drop-ins, but have a lot of regular clients as well. The classes tend to be booked out about 2 weeks in advance, but people usually will drop so recommend waitlisting!

I took my mom and sister to try a lagree class here and we took a beginner's class. We took a class…read morewith Trisha and from the very beginning I felt like the class was unwelcoming from the instructor. Having taken many lagree classes and solidcore classes as well as other fitness classes, I know what good cueing and coaching can be - and this instructor really lacked that. Literally night and day between all the other classes I've taken at other studios in terms of quality of instruction and energy. Instead of being motivating, she came across as irritated - each correction felt like we were really being scolded. Her descriptions of exercises weren't explained well at all, and she offered no encouragement. Usually at lagree studios, instructors will explain exercises with so many details that you could figure out the movements and know which muscles to think about in the exercises without looking up. Comments like "good." or "keep your hands by your sides" were said in a way that felt very dismissive and sharp rather than supportive. The vibe reminded me of a strict coach who's frustrated with you lol. This was disappointing because it was my mom and my sister's first time trying out lagree, and I wish their experience had been with someone more positive and patient. The studio space seems nice, but I'd definitely reccomend taking the beginner class with a different instructor if you're new.
