Bringing in young instructors who project more positive, fresh, and motivating energy could really enhance the overall atmosphere. I had zero dance experience, and never dance even at parties. My husband wanted to do a dance, so we went to a bunch of studios and Fred Astaire stood out! Not only is it a great deep muscle workout, but the moves that we are coached to do don't feel awkward or like you're prone to injury (which can often happen in Pilates classes). I have taken multiple classes with Jillian and she is absolutely amazing. I've also done one class with Jacki and she was so great too! What I love is that they take core foundations from weightlifting and know that that is how muscle is built but they bake in those concepts into the exercises here. What I also really love about the coaches is that I am currently pregnant so they have been super supportive in finding pregnancy friendly alternatives/being OK with me making adjustments myself as well. Lagree is an awesome deep muscle support/supplement and with the slow intentional movements, it's a mind-muscle exercise that's great for both for health and aesthetics (after weigh lifting). The studio is really nice as well, located in downtown Millbrae. Plenty of one hour parking around the area that is easy to find. (I've taken morning classes throughout the week). All the machines are in one row, and there are mirrors along both front and back sides of the studio. They use the megaformer pros, and the springs are very easy/intuitive to adjust. Also, there are bathrooms/changing room in the back along with a water filter! Highly recommend to anyone who is local or in the proximity! I know they have passes directly their website, but I use ClassPass to attend and it's been wonderful.
