Very understandable that those with ill intent make fake reviews. Luckily you can usually decipher fake reviews being attached to accounts with 0 to very little reviews. Unfortunately - I'm not too sure why my information was not saved. I went in with a reserved time frame. Not sure this should be reflected on me? I could have written a review after leaving, but writing reviews RIGHT after a horrible experience isn't the greatest for some as it would then become a reactive/emotional based review, where this 2 star probably would have been a 1. I understand that getting a low rating for someone's experience is not ideal, but accusing someone (who clearly writes reviews and does not have a fake profile) of making a fake review is a bit wild. this was mid year of 2025. It's was definitely under my name :) For privacy reasons - I won't be posting my email on here. Even if you were to find my contact info.. it does not necessarily change the experience. Just some honest feedback for your company! If your sales people have changed within the last 6-8 months then it's probably a much better experience :) I went in for a free dance class promotion. I wanted to see if me and my partner would enjoy adding this to our schedule, cause why not. When we first got there everyone was super friendly. Lots of people in there, but we were still able to use the music they were using to learn salsa steps. We realized pretty early on that it wasn't for us. After class we were put in a room with a sales person and the instructor. The instructor stayed in there the whole time while the sales person tried getting us to put some sort of down payment since it was the last day of their sale price. The packages were way too expensive so we kindly declined and thanked them for the lesson. The sales pressure that was put on us was crazy. It's like "no" was not accepted even after making it intentionally awkward for the hopes that they would just accept the respectful decline. We walked out surprised at their sales tactics.

You can enroll in free trial classes here before you commit to anything. I enrolled my son in the hip hop class and wanted to get my daughter in the hula class, but the latter is extremely popular with a couple dozen people already on the waitlist. The parking lot is shared with some other businesses so it can get pretty packed but I was luckily able to score a spot when I arrived. The studio is easy to navigate, with 3 different dance rooms holding simultaneous classes. There is a bench against the wall where parents can sit and watch if they want, although the view isn't ideal. You can also just drop your kid off at a class and come back for pickup. The studio is conveniently located a couple of blocks away from Grand so plenty of things to do in the area while you wait. The classes are a great way for kids to burn off some extra energy while also learning a new skill set. The techniques taught are age appropriate and the teachers are warm and friendly. There are two (optional) recitals held throughout the year so the students can showcase everything they learned. And the monthly price of membership is very competitive for what you're getting out of it.

She's a very timid kid who's normally very clingy to me. Since her first session she felt comfortable and ready to participate and looks forward to going back each week. She's 3.5 for reference. I do have two cons: The first: parking. It's not really within their control and there are options. The small parking lot and garage are very narrow but not a deal breaker. We prefer to park on El Camino (which has its own challenges with how busy the road is). It's close to HWY 92 which is a plus for us. The second: there are huge windows to watch your child dance/participate yet parents grab chairs and pull it up to directly in front of the glass which makes it harder for everyone else to watch. And those same parents that put their chair against the glass (blocking everyone else's view) end up on their phone not even watching. I wish the school would put up a sign and remind parents to sit further away so everyone can watch.

It's a nice way to introduce different styles of dance to younger kiddos before committing to a specific style of dance. They do two recitals a year - one in December and one in June. I will say, this is definitely not a conventional dance class. It's more play, movement with props and toys. But my toddler LOVES it. I plan to keep her in Small Fry until she turns 5. I will then transition her to PCPA, which is the sister program to Small Fry for older kids.

Formerly a professional dancer with the Lines Ballet Company and instructor for the San Francisco Conservatory Ballet, Maria has created a comprehensive training program that not only develops dance skills, but also impacts individuals' lives. A lot of kids sign up for only 1 or 2 sessions, but many of the young people end up attending for most of their walking life (my term for starting dance classes as soon as one is able to walk). This is due to the community that has been created. The program consists of a weekly class schedule, as well as two opportunities per year to perform at the beautiful El Camino High School Theater. I have many fond memories of preparing for shows by getting into our beautiful costumes, doing our hair and makeup (the one time we got to wear makeup and be like the big kids!), and waiting with great anticipation to go out and give the audience a show! After recently observing the shows from the other side, I can say that I am impressed by the level of the kids' professionalism throughout the entire show. Besides ballet skills, Maria teaches discipline, passion, and expression: DISCIPLINE: ----------------- The way the classes are structured, beginner students start with a weekly ballet class to learn the basics and become more familiar with warmups, technique, and combinations (short sets of choreography designed to improve technique). Intermediate students need to attend 1-2 times per week, and once they move up to the advanced level, must attend 3 classes a week. Two of those classes are spent building technique and strengthening the muscles, while the 3rd class is reserved for pointe work. I strongly believe that having such a rigorous schedule increased my time management skills, as I learned to manage homework and other activities around my ballet schedule. Also, Maria was patient yet held high expectations of all her students, which motivated us to be more committed to our study of ballet. PASSION: -------------- I definitely acquired my passion for dance (and performing in general) by learning from Maria. It is apparent from the way she dances and teaches that she loves what she does, and is therefore very effective in sharing that love with her students. To this day I can't live without some dance in my life. I learned to enjoy teaching kids based on how Maria taught us. Not only am I a stage performer in Broadway musicals, but I also choreograph/direct children's musicals. I attribute my skills as an effective choreographer to my strong foundation in ballet as well as to having such a wonderful and patient teacher. EXPRESSION: -------------------- I was an awkward kid and even more awkward teenager. And I mean REALLY awkward! Ballet classes enabled me to get past myself and be more comfortable with who I am. Dance is a wonderful outlet for anyone, but a structured class where I had a safe community to express myself was critical to my development as a person. TIP: This is a hidden bonus gem within the City of SSF. The classes are very reasonably priced, as this is a City program, and you will be so pleased with the value you get out of these classes. Sign up your kid (or yourself -- they have adult classes) today! TIP2: Ballet -- and dance in general -- is FANTASTIC for your physique! But ballet in particular builds a lot of muscle, in all the right places. :)

The gymnastics classes are organized, fun, and engaging. I especially appreciate that the instructors provide hands-on guidance to help kids through each activity instead of just letting them wander and explore on their own. For toddlers and preschoolers, I personally preferred The Little Gym over some nearby gymnastics programs that seem geared more toward older kids. It's also reassuring that some instructors appear to have been there for years, which feels like a good sign. The birthday parties were easy and low-stress. We dropped off food and decorations ahead of time, and the staff handled setup, led the kids through activities, and served food very efficiently. Pricing also felt reasonable compared to some other party venues. Having Mountain Mike's Pizza right next door was an added bonus for party food and convenience. The main downside is that weekend preschool morning classes can be difficult to get into because they fill up quickly. Otherwise, we've really loved our experiences at The Little Gym!

I had a newborn at the time so did not want to push him since I could be at home instead of having him sit in my lap and watch the rest of the class. I ended up cancelling the membership and getting a refund for most of my money but was still charged for the 2nd day even though he didn't participate at all which ... I guess they need to hold that position or something but I thought it was tasteless on top of the high intro class fee. Bad: - price. The fee just to try out a class is steep and when you get a membership you pay an initial fee? I can't quite recall but I was surprised by how expensive it was and felt like they could have been more accommodating. - smell. Takes a bit to adjust. My first visit here was for a party and I was in my third trimester. I almost threw up and couldn't stand the feet smell. Post pregnancy, I got used to the smell but.. yea. Pretty strong. Overall, if my son would have liked it I would have paid for it because it is fun and active, but it wasn't worth having to wait for him to adjust and I thought they could have been more understanding.
