Not all teachers were graceful, meaning that there were times a substitute teacher would give the class and she would be so detached to the students you could notice the difference on the little dancers. Our daughter attends the 9:50am class on Sundays with teacher Bella. Below are some things I wish I would have known Prior to enrolling as they were dealbreakers for us. - If your child is unable to sit without assistance for long periods of time than you must be willing to offer your child support throughout the class. - Class size is much larger than I had expected and there is one adult responsible for the entire building. This means that the teacher is responsible for setup / takedown of class materials, distributing and collecting materials, attending to the front desk, answering questions, managing their onsite store & teaching a large class. On our first day we did not learn our teachers name until she mentioned her name during class and we're not given any sort of direction prior to class. - The class starts out with a circle where each child runs around individually while the others watch. Fallowing this theres some stretching that leads into a period where the kids "dance". This involved navigating cones or hoping from circle to circle. Each time felt very chaotic and had a quick visual of the expectation but no follow through or direction was given while the kids were attempting. Once this ended the teacher read a book and the kids colored with their families. And while I'm sure this is used as a way to bring the energy level back down I felt as though I was paying for a space for preschool activities rather than a space for movement. - Communication has been a bit difficult. We've emailed twice with no response. One email was sent 9 /10 days ago as we were unsure what to do regarding a class we would be missing and the other was 4 days ago regarding our request to unenroll. Along with this we requested a change in classes during our first session and we're told the class was open and an email would be sent. However we did not receive any follow up. I fully understand that everyone is busy and staffing is tough, however this could be an issue for someone who needs a more hands on approach. With this being said the space itself is very cute, clean and Bella was very nice. We just felt as if we were paying for a playgroup rather than a dance class and really needed something that could provide movement for her while also helping her to learn about existing in a group setting. read more

My daughter has been a student of Tutu school since she was yrs old... almost turning 4 years old.. she is 7 yrs old now.. and has made life long friends from attending these classs and also the summer time "Tutu camps." We have been coming to this studio for almost 3 months and my daughter has truly loved every moment. She loves learning ballet and also feeling like she can pretend play at the same time. Teacher Mina is superb and my daughter can have a short attention span and be a distraction at times. Teacher Mina is professional and patient! She is a great instructor and we are grateful to have landed in her class! This school is a great and has great activities/events for the students to do outside of the class as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our daughter has been with Tutu School for about 2 years. She started off with Teacher Bella on Sundays and LOVED her. We then moved to Wednesday nights with Teacher Lauren and she loves her as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We did try to switch to a Monday night that worked better with our schedule and I didnt' feel that Teacher could control the class so we did switch back to Wednesdays. I like that it's a fun environment for a young child to learn ballet, that it's not taken serious and I know they specifically don't correct the form or movement because they are focused on encouraging them to have a love of dance first - which I think is wonderful. They'll have time to correct form later, they are 4 years old! Teacher Lauren does a wonderful job keeping the kids focused and keeping the class moving along. At the end they are read a short story and given a coloring sheet to work off of. The Bravo Bashes (we've done two) are absolutely stunning. I do wish the Bravo Bash started on time and was more organized, but the performances are really beautiful, the stage and the costumes are beautiful. This is a long overdo review. We've been enrolled at Tutu School SB for a little over 2.5 years (started at the park during Covid before the SB indoor location opened). My daughter has had teacher Lauren for about 2 years and just adores her. She makes the class fun, and the class of about 10 girls have become fast friends. Outside of the standard weekly classes, the SB location sometimes hosts book clubs and little parties. Those are always a hit. If you're looking for a fun activity for your kiddo, this is it. The owner is very involved with the community, opening its doors to the San Bruno parents club and participating in community events like the Posy Parade. Great local business to support. read more

Overall we like Tutu School and my daughter has attended on and off since toddler age, but it is VERY dependent on the teacher. Ms. Bella is awesome and is SO amazing with little ones - so patient and kind, the epitome of a ballerina. But some of the other teachers have not been great, especially for the Saturday class which seems to have had trouble keeping a teacher. It is a good option for those looking for something more casual - it's less serious than other ballet classes we tried (no uniform enforcement, no hair requirement, classes aren't behind a "closed door", etc.). And seriously when they're 3 years old all those rules and expectations are HARD! I also appreciate their flexible month to month billing and make up class policy. We like Tutu School for what it is but hope they can resolve the weekend teacher issues. read more

My 3 year old needed some kind of socialization so i signed her up. Its been 5 months since she started, At first she didnt follow much direction was easily distracted but she had fun so we kept coming. Months later, now she listens and engages very well. She went from shy to a social butterfly. Teacher lauren is the best. She makes class fun and exciting. Just held a birthday party for my daughter at Tutu School San Bruno. Jessica and the owner were incredibly helpful and accommodating and the details of the day were just perfect- from the hands on activities to the cute decorations, cupcakes, and favors! The Tutu school in San Bruno is so darling! My daughter looks forward to her class every week! The teachers are awesome and super helpful.

My daughter wasn't able to go to the classes and they charged us and didn't make up the classes, also never refunded our money, all classes she went teachers wouldn't even care is she was doing right, they would look and never tell the kids to do it right. They literally got our money very bad costumer service. Never coming back and definitely not recommending this place, they definitely use all the money to try to attract clientele with they're pink walls and cute stuff but staff are really bad. read more
