The class was fun & she was a really great teacher. Since the class was small, there was more personalized attention. The only thing I don't like was the switching partners. I don't feel at all comfortable dancing with any other person other than my boyfriend. Plus, there was this one guy who I danced with who talked about how he's been going for awhile & knows everything, but he wasn't doing some stuff correctly & he was very forceful which kinda scared me. I was so not wanting to dance with him when I had to dance with him during the several times of switching partners. :(

We first joined SFDS when my daughter was two years old because we lived in the neighborhood and she wanted to wear a tutu. Fast forward and she is a dedicated dancer with SFDS. Her love of dance and dedication to ballet is due to the dedication, passion and skill of the business owner, Laura and her team. My daughter has landed roles in city-wide dance performances with the education she has had at SFDS. At the end of every year, like most practices, SFDS puts on a performance. This performance is above and beyond anything you wold imagine. I am talking the real deal - the costumes, the props, the whole performance is next level. I also want to add that Ms. Laura (the business owner) is a gem. She is a true teacher in the sense that she is vested in all of the children who attend her program. Recently, SFDS was forced to pivot their approach from in-person sessions to telepractice (due to COVID-19). Almost immediately, classes continued online - they have been excellent and during this crazy time its been something stable in my daughter's life. Thank you SFDS for providing a caring, challenging and fun space for the dancers!

So far we've learned the basics of Swing, Bachata, and Night Club 2 Step. David Blood, the instructor is patient and excellent, and his volunteer helpers are fantastic (thanks!). We looked him up on ratemyprofessor and he gets the fire logo which means he's a "hot" professor :-). Congats, David, on being so smooth! The class size started out pretty full, but if you stick it out for a few weeks, it gets down to about 20 people. It is pretty even between men and women, and you dance with everyone. The only pain point is the slightly annoying process of having to fill out a college application to get in. But the price and instruction are awesome, so it is well worth it! Highly recommend.

Each student has a portable square platform to dance on. There were ~ 13 students so it's not crowded at all. I was able to see and hear her so clearly. She is experienced (to explain body mechanics in addition to technique), patient, and funny. I have a lot of fun. There won't be a class on 8/30/14 because of Labor Day. Last day to add full-term credit classes in-person & on WEB4 is 9/5/14. Next class is 9/6/14. We need more students in the class to keep the class. $46/1 unit class a semester is more affordable than studio at $15-$20/class. Students can take this for pass/not pass instead of a grade. Also, Kathe has a bag of pretty clean looking tap shoes from people who gave her, left unclaimed for students to use. She is as accomodating as a nice teacher can be. Bathrooms are disgusting. Well at least the men's bathroom. Urinals have piss all over the floor…read more(PLEASE invest in piss pads for the floor like other 24hour clubs) and many times at least one urinal is not working. Stalls have piss and toilet paper everywhere. Most of the time, at least one one faucet is not working. Also, it's probably a good idea to clean more regularly as the current cadence is obviously not enough. On a good note, front desk staff is great and always courteous. Trainers are great as well, especially Zion and Cat who bring energy to the floor when i watch them with their clients. New, upgraded layout still feels nice. Unfortunately there's always some machines not working. And the fact that not all machines are usable for attachments is a bummer.

First time coming ~8pm and they didn't let me in because it was crowded after having me complete intake and provide an ID. Why make me go through the check in process to deny me? The second visit, it was not too crowded so I got to try out different machines but you can see people not following gym etiquette (wiping down after use) and the staff not doing anything about that. The shower and sauna facility felt like it hadn't been clean in a while. Not worth a revisit or membership imo.

I've taken classes with Chinwe and Millie and they're both amazing instructors that will help you get the proper form throughout the classes. I primarily take the Classic which is a pretty consistent class that focuses on legs, core and upper body! The transitions between each work out can be fast, but it's nice once you attend class 4-5 times, you get the hang of what to expect. I know there are other types of classes to take (Empower incorporates wrist weights which I'd love to try eventually). I signed up for Pure Barre hoping to improve my core but I've gained so much more! My mind muscle connection has improved as we go through the workouts of the class. I'm quite impressed that the workout having that ability.
