DanceVibes is amazing! I had been looking for a work out I would enjoy and therefore stick to, and I think I finally found it :) DanceVibes is a combination of cardio and choreography. The choreo is really fun and varied while giving you a great work out. The owner Jaimee is an awesome instructor, as are the other teachers, and people in class are really friendly. Jaimee's DanceVibes class is hands down one of the best fitness classes I've ever taken. Definitely a highlight of my week! Jaimee is a phenomenal dancer with contagious energy. She creates a no judgement atmosphere that allows both experienced and novice dancers to let out energy and get a challenging cardio, ab, and leg workout. What I love most about this class is that I'm getting a great workout without even realizing it! Now that is my kinda workout! If you're considering DanceVibes, but not sure you have what it takes, do yourself a favor and GO! It's so much fun and Jaimee will make you feel welcome without putting a spotlight on you. 2 years ago, I took my very first Zumba class with Holly - and I have never looked back! During that time, I was lucky enough to enjoy Jaimee's routines when she would pop in for class - talk about high energy! I look forward to class each and every week - it's like "girls night out" every Tuesday & Thursday. We whoop and holler, sweat (I mean sparkle) and enjoy each other's company. Holly and Jaimee were my first Zumba instructors, and I consider myself very lucky to have had my first experience with dance fitness with these ladies leading the classes! The cool thing about Jaimee & Holly's classes are that you get a really great workout, sweat a ton, but you are having fun the entire time! They offer great music, everything from Top 40 to Hip Hop to Latin that really keeps you going. Let me start by saying that I'm not a dancer and that I was generally the last one picked for teams in P.E. I had basically no confidence in my physical abilities. Jaimee and team have created a wonderful, positive, FUN space for us two-left-feet people to move, express and get comfortable with our bodies. I took Olga's Vinyasa class and it was awesome! It was challenging but relaxing at the same time. I felt I could breathe better after class. The pace was not intimidating at all, this is something I was worried about since I haven't done it in years. She makes all the moves flow together so well which was really fun to follow. read more

I came to the first class at DanceVibes today, and Jaimee made it such a fun class that I would want to go back. To be honest, before coming to the class, I was skeptical, I then messaged her on Yelp to ask her many questions, which she answered them all. Jaimee knows how to dance, to move, and to transform exercise and dance into something so exciting and making you sweat a lot. Sweating at the end of the day is what I need. I'm hooked on DanceVibes! This class gives me everything I want - a great cardio workout to a diverse set of songs! I never get bored, and I can always scale the moves or challenge myself! I liked the spirit of Zumba, but with many other classes I felt like it was too repetitive and the music felt like one long salsa song. I love how Jaimee teaches us dance fundamentals as well. Jaimee and Holly offer badass choreography through two levels of moderate to intense cardio. IMO it's professional, music video style, Zumba. I go twice a week and can handle both levels and the one hour classes give me serious cardio and a real uplift. The music is also awesome. And for anyone who wants to practice choreography (hint: practice makes perfect) Jaimee makes it easy with her online vids, including adding new moves and new songs to signature routines. read more

Jaimee is possibly the best dance teacher I've ever had- and I have been to quite a few dance classes. She is able to incorporate artistic expression and fitness training into her dance moves that are carefully choreographed to fun music. Her love for dance is so infectious, it made me want to dance even at my first class when I wasn't familiar with any of the moves. She is very encouraging and skilled at breaking down each dance for newer students. I go to Holly's level 1 class on Tuesday evenings in San Bruno. I love dancing. I don't love exercising. But if you can get me to dance, I'll happily break a sweat. The key is that I don't enjoy those classes that purport to be Zumba but are really just repetitive aerobics steps to fun music. Yes music is part of what I love but I also need fun choreography that's varied and goes with the music. Holly's class satisfies my dance cravings and I also happen to get a great workout! The choreography is primarily fierce and sexy hip hop moves. If you have previous dance experience you will be able to catch on quickly. That said, you don't need previous dance experience, you just need to be able to give it a go and not be embarrassed if you mess up. I have a great time dancing even if I don't look the best or dance it perfectly. The music isn't amped up to be more "club" like and the genres vary but they're all definitely loud, fast paced and fun. There are no surprise push ups or sit ups halfway through class. This isn't the type of class where you slowly walk through each move before putting it all together. Nope, you just dive right in. I appreciate that because it means that every week will be a workout, even if a few new routines have been introduced. I believe they do post new routines online so you can practice at home if you need a bit of extra time to figure out where your feet go. (Hint: If you can't do it all right away, just focus on getting the feet figured out first, arms can come later.) Overall, I walk in stressed and I walk out drenched and happy. Other random tidbits: There are typically 1-2 men in class and people of all shapes and sizes attend. Bring water and a small towel to wipe the sweat mid-class. Holly is an EMT tech so (while this has never happened) you're in good hands if you accidentally faint or twist an ankle. If you're BARTing in, get off at San Bruno and take the ECR bus (SamTrans) south in the Palo Alto direction. Get off at the Walgreens. It is up a long flight of stairs so it may not be accessible. They do have single seater restrooms but they aren't explicitly all gender restrooms. The seating area is next to the dance floor so occasionally people have brought a kid who played on their phone while everyone danced. read more

I started going to 'Intro to DanceVibes' classes a little over a month now, and I must say that I truly enjoy Jaimee as the teacher. She breaks down the routine very well, is patient, and uses repetition for semi-beginners as myself so that by the end of the hour, you are pretty confident in doing the choreography. She teaches all styles of dance like contemporary, hip-hop, salsa, jazz, etc., and she continues to update her personal training by learning from the best of the best, mentors. It might be intimidating at first, but you'll see woman of all ages, sizes, and experience levels dancing their hearts out because it's very fun and you don't feel left out or awkward when learning new routines because everyone goes at their own pace. She's an excellent dancer, very smooth, graceful, and teaches us ladies to show attitude/our sexiness after mastering the choreography. She's very encouraging and supportive! I was very nervous to go to my first class, but DanceVibes is a total judgement free zone which allowed me to shake off my nerves and just dance my heart out! Jaimee's choreography is very fun and she has a good mix of salsa and pop music :) The dances are very modifiable: you can jump to every move, add your style and get a great workout or take it at your own pace. I first came to know Jaimee and Holly through my personal trainer. She was giving a fundraiser which consisted of a Zumbathon and Jaimee and Holly were the instructors. I saw the video that was put up from it and I said to myself "That looks like fun!!" I contacted Jaimee and she told me about a class that she was starting in San Bruno and that I should attend. I did attend and fast forward a year later, I am still attending the class. I was more than thrilled when she added a second class with Holly. Both classes are very high energy and are great workouts!! I look forward to coming every week. I also enjoy the different events that are offered. (i.e. Masterclasses, nights out, fundraisers, etc.) I find it very helpful that Jaimee posts the choreography on her Youtube channel for us to practice. I am a visual learner and this helps me a lot. I am so glad that I found DanceVibes. It has gotten me up off the couch and dancing which is something I never thought in a million years that I would be doing!!
